Free Request For Tuition

Primary 4 is often the year when schoolwork starts to feel noticeably heavier. Many parents realise their child is no longer just revising simple basics, but coping with longer English comprehension, more demanding problem sums, and early Science application. If you are searching for Primary 4 tuition in Singapore, finding the right fit can make a real difference, especially if your child is losing confidence, rushing through homework, or quietly falling behind. This guide compares 10 Primary 4 tuition centres and one home tuition platform, with a closer look at teaching style, subjects, fees, and learning support, so you can shortlist primary tuition options that suit your child’s pace, personality, and academic needs.

Key Takeaways

  • Primary 4 tuition works best when the teaching style matches how your child learns, not just the nearest branch or lowest fee.
  • Different Primary 4 tuition centres suit different needs, from one-to-one home support to small-group classes and subject-specific coaching.
  • When comparing primary tuition options, look beyond grades and consider class size, feedback quality, convenience, and whether your child will actually feel comfortable asking questions.

MindFlex – Your Best Platform for Primary 4 Home Tuition

MindFlex - Home Tuition Platform for Primary 4 Tuition

Overview of Business

MindFlex Tuition Agency is a Singapore home tuition agency that helps parents find suitable Primary 4 tuition support without having to search tutor by tutor on their own. Rather than running a fixed classroom programme, MindFlex matches families with private tutors for lessons at home or online. For Primary 4 children, this can be especially helpful when school gaps start showing more clearly in English, Maths, Science, or Mother Tongue. Some children need someone patient to rebuild basics, while others need closer homework guidance or steady weekly practice. MindFlex allows parents to request tutors based on subject, location, timing, budget, and preferred tutor profile, making it a flexible option for children who may be shy, easily distracted, or learning at a different pace from classmates.

Why Parents Choose MindFlex?

Parents often choose MindFlex because the matching process is personalised, fast, and free for clients. For Primary 4 tuition, that means you can look for a tutor who suits your child’s pace instead of fitting your child into a fixed class format. Families may request home or online lessons, and tutors can be matched by schedule, area, budget, and teaching background. This is especially useful if your child needs closer attention, more confidence, or support with school homework.

I’m very grateful to MindFlex, especially Alyssa and her team, for their patience and dedication in helping to source a suitable tutor for my son.

This is the 2nd time I look for them to source a tutor. This time round I had more specific requirements, including the tutor’s age group, gender and most importantly, someone who is patient and able to communicate well with students who are weaker in Chinese. Alyssa and the team were understanding, responsive and professional throughout the entire process.

They took the effort to carefully match a tutor who suits my son’s learning needs and personality. I truly appreciate their commitment and excellent service. Highly recommended for parents looking for reliable and attentive tuition support!

It has truly been a blessing to find Mr. Tan Tiam Teng as my son’s Chinese tutor. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated—qualities that have made a huge difference in my son’s learning journey. My Primary 4 son has shown remarkable improvement in his Chinese since starting lessons, and we are so grateful for the progress.

Beyond the academic results, Mr. Tan’s teaching style has built my son’s confidence and interest in the subject. He is punctual, pleasant disposition and understands what a child needs. The entire experience with Mind Flex has also been very pleasant, professional, and supportive.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a tutor who genuinely cares and delivers excellent results

Friendly, pleasant, swift, helpful and most importantly not pushy

1. illum.e

1. illum.e

Overview of Business

illum.e is an MOE-registered tuition provider known mainly for English and language-based subjects, with multiple centres across Singapore and online lesson options. For families looking at Primary 4 tuition, illum.e is most relevant if your child needs stronger support in Primary English rather than a full spread of subjects. Primary 4 can be the point when comprehension becomes less straightforward and writing expectations start to rise. illum.e builds its teaching around helping students learn how to think, not just what to memorise, which can be useful for children who can read but struggle to explain, infer, or organise ideas clearly.

Why Parents Choose illum.e?

Parents who choose illum.e for Primary 4 tuition are usually looking for stronger English support rather than general primary tuition. Their approach may suit children who need help with writing structure, comprehension thinking, grammar accuracy, or oral confidence. The smaller class setting can matter for children who tend to stay quiet in school and need more chances to speak up. Parents may also find reassurance in illum.e’s experienced teaching team and systematic methods.

Before joining illum.e, I was scoring badly for GP up until promos in J1. I did not understand how GP worked and what was even required to score well in GP. After joining illum.e in J2, Mr Chia and Mr Yeo's lessons made me understand that GP was actually very much doable. Mr Chia and Mr Yeo would also always make the extra effort to help me mark and provide feedback on areas for improvement promptly. Would definitely recommend anyone considering a GP tuition centre to join illum.e!

I enrolled into Illume in 2024 in Mr Chia and Mr Yeo class at Jurong East campus, and throughout the 1.5 years in illume, I managed to improve my GP significantly through the structured classes and lectures. The lesson materials were useful since it provided easy to remember methods and strategies to tackle the broad subject requirements. Additionally Mr Chia and Mr Yeo were engaging and frequently put in the effort to make our lessons fun and interesting. Furthermore, Mr Chia and Mr Yeo would take time to consult with us and check our essay outlines or comprehension questions outside of lesson hours or during exam periods, even if they were very busy. Overall, illume has helped me not only in scoring an A for GP but also equip me with general knowledge about local and global affairs, which are valuable when entering the workforce in the future.

Mr Chia played the biggest role in helping me achieve an A for GP during my A Levels. Before attending his classes, I was completely clueless about how to write good essays, as the help given by my school teachers was too vague and confusing. I am very grateful to Mr Chia, who taught me how to use illum.e’s very own skill sets to dissect question types and keyword types, which are the keys to answering any type of essay question.

I truly appreciate that in every single lesson, Mr Chia made it a point to review every student’s answers and provide personalised feedback to target the weaknesses in our responses and teach us how to improve. I also liked that he engaged with his students in class to ensure that we were following him and to liven up the atmosphere. I was also pleasantly surprised when I wrote at least three additional essays for Mr Chia to mark and he returned them to me with fully annotated scripts showing where I could improve. Every piece of feedback was immensely useful. (He was not obliged to mark them at all.) This showed his dedication and responsibility towards helping his students.

As for comprehension, I went from barely passing to getting an A during prelims. Similarly, I would credit this improvement to Mr Chia. He was very encouraging, even when the class struggled to paraphrase certain words.

Finally, even though I only joined his classes in April of J2, I was able to see myself doing better in GP at school after applying the feedback Mr Chia gave. This shows how experienced he is in knowing exactly what his students need to do to perform better in the subject.

I 100% recommend juniors who feel uncertain about GP to join!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My English teacher, Mr. Chia from Illum Education (Jurong East), played a huge role in helping me achieve a B3 in my National Examinations.

When I first joined in mid-May, I was barely passing with around 50 marks. Even close to Prelims in late July, I was still stuck at 55 and extremely worried about my actual exams. After consulting Mr. Chia, the improvement I saw within just three weeks was honestly insane.

He didn’t just teach me content; he fixed my exam strategy. For Paper 1 (especially Situational Writing), I used to write the wrong things and overwrite. He taught me how to write less but include the right points to score higher. For Paper 2, I used to struggle to find answers in the passage, but after his guidance, it became much easier.

What really stood out was his care and dedication. Despite being busy, he still took time to mark my extra work and patiently answer my questions after lessons. He always checked in to make sure I had no doubts.

If you want results, Mr. Chia is the teacher you need. Highly recommended.

Mr Roger was my teacher at Illum.e. I joined midway through Sec 4, and many people questioned why I decided to start tuition so close to my O Levels. Previously, I believed I could self-study and still achieve a good grade for English. However, after receiving my WA1 and WA2 results, I realised my grades were declining from a C6 to a D7. That was when I told my mum that I needed tuition.

During my time at Illum.e, I learnt a lot from Mr Roger. He always took the time to explain every detail clearly, especially words or concepts that students were unsure of. Beyond that, Illum.e taught us how to approach questions based on what markers are actually looking for. This helped me understand how to answer effectively without overthinking or overwriting during exams.

As a result, I was able to manage my time much better in my actual O Levels. I am truly grateful to Illum.e and for my own hard work, which helped me achieve a B3 for my English O Levels.

Subjects Offered

  • Primary English (P1-P6)
  • PSLE English Preparation (P6)

Teaching Methodology

  • illum.e uses its Thinking Frames method to teach children how to break down questions step by step.
  • Classes have an average teacher-student ratio of 1 to 8 for closer feedback.
  • The programme includes a customised Writing Mastery lesson series for children whose compositions lack ideas or structure.

Location and Availability

illum.e has centres including Jurong East, Bukit Timah, Novena, Hougang, and Parkway, and they also offer online lessons.

Price Range

For Primary 4 tuition in English, middle primary lessons are priced at $65 per 2-hour lesson for AY2025, and $70 per 2-hour lesson for AY2026, excluding GST.

2. The Math Lab

2. The Math Lab

Overview of Business

The Math Lab is a long-running specialist maths tuition provider that focuses only on Mathematics, from Primary to Junior College levels. For Primary 4 tuition, this makes them especially relevant for parents whose child is generally coping in school but keeps stumbling in problem sums, fractions, or multi-step questions. At Primary 4, the issue is often not just getting the final answer wrong. Many children still do not know how to represent the problem, choose a method, or explain their working calmly. The Math Lab builds its programme around the Singapore Mathematics approach, with depth, visualisation, and heuristic thinking instead of rushing through many question types.

Why Parents Choose The Math Lab?

Parents often shortlist The Math Lab when they want subject-specific Primary 4 tuition rather than general primary tuition. Their maths-only focus may feel reassuring for families whose child is starting to dislike Maths because every worksheet ends in frustration. The emphasis on conceptual understanding can be valuable for children who memorise methods but freeze when a question is phrased differently. Parents may also like the smaller group format, where children are taught individually in turn.

Teacher Anson helped me understand Sec 1 topics easily and gave me a great headstart to the year. He's a really patient, positive and understanding teacher, and doesn't hesitate to repeat and go through the topics I don't understand as many times as possible. 3. Learning Point

3. Learning Point

Overview of Business

Learning Point is a long-established tuition and enrichment provider in Singapore, with programmes across English, Maths, and Science for primary students. For parents looking for Primary 4 tuition, Learning Point may appeal if your child needs broad-based academic support rather than help in only one subject. Primary 4 can feel like an in-between year, but it is often when children begin showing clearer strengths and weaknesses. Learning Point’s approach combines structured teaching with an enriched curriculum that goes beyond minimum school expectations. For parents who want a steady, established provider with several Primary subject options, Learning Point is worth comparing.

Why Parents Choose Learning Point?

Parents may choose Learning Point because it offers Primary 4 tuition across the main school subjects, which can be useful if a child needs support in more than one area without switching providers. Their long history may also reassure families who prefer a stable, established brand. The teaching style seems to balance rigour with engagement, which may suit children who need structure but shut down when lessons feel too dry. Parents may also appreciate the complimentary student assessment.

Before joining learning point, one of my initial struggles was answering comprehension questions accurately. Learning Point provides great tips and compre techniques which has helped give me a sense of direction whenever i come across compre!

Through the programme, I have definitely seen improvement in terms of knowing how to answer the questions, as well as developing a stronger grasp of the fundamentals when it comes to continuous writing in a cohesive, structured manner.

What makes LP so special is the learning environment! The lessons are engaging and enjoyable, and the ‘current buzz’ segment in every lesson really helped me broaden my general knowledge and strengthen content development. Continually, the class encourages students to write freely and develop their own individual voice!

I also want to add that my teacher Mrs Lee Jo Ann was consistently supportive and encouraging not only academically, but also in checking in on students’ overall well-being, making learning fun and enjoyable at the same time. I think this holistic approach rlly makes LP meaningful and empowering.

Happy Teacher’s Day!
As a parent, I just want to extend my deepest thanks for the care, dedication, and guidance the teachers have given to my child through the tuition sessions. The support has made a tremendous difference — not just in academics, but in my child’s overall confidence and attitude toward learning.

We’ve seen the progress, the growing curiosity, and the renewed motivation, and we know that much of it is because of the teachers' patience, encouragement, and consistent effort. They’ve been more than just a tutor — they've been a mentor and a positive influence in our child’s life.

Wishing you a well-deserved Happy Teacher’s Day, filled with the appreciation and respect you’ve so truly earned.

4. Edufirst Learning Centre

4. Edufirst Learning Centre

Overview of Business

Edufirst Learning Centre offers primary and secondary tuition through a wide network of branches across Singapore, with a strong emphasis on small-group learning and personalised support. For Primary 4 tuition, Edufirst may suit parents who want regular classroom structure but still worry their child gets overlooked in larger groups. At this stage, many children are not failing badly, yet they are already carrying quiet gaps in comprehension, Maths concepts, or Science understanding. Edufirst builds its approach around identifying each child’s strengths and weaknesses, then teaching in very small groups of about 4 to 8 students.

Why Parents Choose Edufirst Learning Centre?

Parents often look at Edufirst when they want Primary 4 tuition that feels more personal than a typical group class. The very small class size may matter if your child is the type who zones out quietly, copies friends, or avoids asking for help. Edufirst also offers several core Primary subjects, which is useful for families trying to keep schedules simpler under one provider. Their free trial class can help parents gauge whether the child is comfortable with the teaching style before committing.

I discovered this Student Care Centre (SCC) sprouted up in the Geylang East neighbourhood and I really find that they have the heart to care for our children. They take the effort to cook healthy and good lunch and also cater extra for the children in case they are hungry.

As for tuition, I personally find teachers Rui Le and Charlotte will make the effort to set individualized questions for my kids to prep them for their Weighted Assessment (WA).

So keep up the good work!

My boy joined Edufirst since he started Primary 1 last year. The centre manager Wendy and teacher Eugene take strong ownership in running the centre effectively and pushing the students academically. From checking and guiding the students’ work to making them learn their spelling. They also give the students extra worksheets and practice to uphold learning standards. Teacher Eugene even requested that I continue to send my boy to the centre regularly, during the school holidays, so that he can maintain his Chinese learning progress. 5. Zenith Education Studio

5. Zenith Education Studio

Overview of Business

Zenith Education Studio offers tuition across Primary, Secondary, and Junior College levels, with dedicated Primary programmes for English, Maths, and Science from Primary 4 onwards. That makes Zenith especially relevant for parents who are specifically searching for Primary 4 tuition rather than lower primary support. For many children, Primary 4 is the first year when parents feel the pace has shifted and marks are becoming less predictable. Their teaching combines traditional and modern methods, with curated notes, structured revision, and personalised feedback.

Why Parents Choose Zenith Education Studio?

Parents may choose Zenith because their Primary programmes start from Primary 4, so the set-up already speaks directly to children at this stage. That can matter when you do not want your child placed in a programme mainly designed around lower primary needs. Zenith may appeal to families looking for structured Primary 4 tuition with clear academic systems, curated materials, and teachers who give focused feedback. Their capped class sizes can also help children who need more attention but still learn well in a peer environment.

I attended Chenfang's E-Math classes from Sec 3 to 4 and it really was an amazing experience to be learning with her!

In Sec 4, I jumped from a C6 for Prelims to a B3 for O's, something I thought I wouldn't be able to achieve. Chenfang helped me to understand what my weak points were through weekly assessments and so I improved steadily. Her classes are also really fun since she makes sure that we are not just studying but enjoying the process!
The worksheets at Zenith also helped a lot as there were many diverse types of questions that helped with gradual and thorough understanding, with extras for practice at home! The snacks were also a real help for staying focused in class 🙂

I attended Nicholas Koh’s classes when I realised I was failing Chemistry and Physics in my Sec 3 WA2s. He helped pull my grades up from an F9 to an A2 for my O Levels! I truly appreciate his help so much. He is understanding, yet he also challenges me and strongly believes in my potential. His lessons are unlike those of other tutors who simply spoon-feed information instead, he makes sure new concepts are thoroughly drilled into your head so you truly understand them. Thank you Nick you genuinely changed my life. You’re the best!

I was a J2 student taking H2 physics under duncan!! Duncan is honestly one of the best physics tutors I’ve ever had. He answers my questions incredibly fast and always makes sure I fully understand the concepts before moving on. You can tell he really puts in the effort. tbh it feels like he works around the clock just to help his students. He’s super helpful, patient, and you can clearly see that he genuinely loves what he does. Highly recommend him to anyone who wants to improve in physics!

Because of laychuns lessons, I feel more confident in econs and I have improved in applying concepts on my own. He is patient, encouraging and genuinely wants his students to do better. Lessons are productive and I always end up learning something useful.

Shi neng has made chem very fun and enjoyable for me, this has made chem seem so much easier in school. He explains concepts very clearly and his lessons are very engaging!

Overall, I would recommend them to anyone who wants to improve and understand the subject better.

Shi Neng chemistry class is so good. Like everyone around me keeps saying chemistry is so hard and honestly I did find Chem hard before joining zenith Chem. However, after I went for June trial for energetics I realised how simple Chem is. Especially he helped me so much in organiche Chem by covering all the foundations and the small tiny details! I rlly recommend this class and I have gotten A /B throughout the time I have been with zenith. It’s also very fun cause he has a sense of humour HAHA !

My time at zenith has been really wonderful and really enjoyable. My chemistry tutor , Shi Neng has been really helpful at helping me understand H2 chemistry and making the journey more fun and bearable. Even with simple and obvious questions , Shi Neng has always been patient and really helpful with explaining chemistry concepts! Even with welfare he has always been very generous and thoughtful. TLDR he is a very thoughtful teacher and I wish I would have joined earlier 😭😭 676767

the teachers here are kind, very committed and do their best to help us with any questions we have. with my chem tutor's -ms low's- help, i was able to go from a failing student to getting an A2 in O levels. despite joining the class last-minute, when O levels was just around the corner, she put in effort by texting me frequently to see if i understood the topics well and asnwered any questions i had for her. she made sure i understood earlier concepts by offering lesson videos which helped give me a deeper and clearer understanding as well as offered additional lessons to help catch up with the other students. she ensures that her students keep up well with the class by randomly calling on them to answer questions, and also texts us long messages to brief us on O levels and post-secondary education, so that we know what to expect. (she even held a Q&A session about tertiary education). she occasionally went through JC-level questions related to sec 4 topics so that we could have a deeper understanding about the sec 4 topic, and also know what to expect in JC chemistry.

Ms Low was very detailed in her teaching and helped me get A for chem A levels! My favourite thing about her style of teaching is she exposes us to many alternate and effective ways of problem solving and i was definitely able to use these methods during my actual exams. Shes also very helpful outside of class and entertained the multitude of questions i had for her, aiding in me understanding the subject to a better degree. Fast- paced lessons as well helps to keep u from ever feeling sleepy during tuition. Thnks Ms Low🤟🤟

7. Concept Math

7. Concept Math

Overview of Business

Concept Math is a specialist primary maths provider focused entirely on Mathematics from Primary 1 to Primary 6. For parents specifically comparing Primary 4 tuition options in Maths, this is one of the more targeted choices on the list. Primary 4 is often when Maths starts to separate children who understand concepts from those still relying on guesswork, shortcuts, or copied methods. Concept Math builds its teaching around conceptual links across topics, not surface-level drilling, which can be useful when a child seems fine in one chapter but keeps falling apart in word problems or mixed practice.

Why Parents Choose Concept Math?

Parents usually choose Concept Math when the main concern is Maths, not all subjects together. Their specialist focus may appeal to families whose child is becoming anxious around problem sums, fractions, or multi-step questions in Primary 4. The small group set-up can be especially valuable if your child needs teachers to spot misconceptions early rather than waiting until exam scripts come back. Parents may also appreciate the short debrief after every lesson and the e-resources for home revision.

8. Everyday Tuition

8. Everyday Tuition

Overview of Business

Everyday Tuition offers Primary and Secondary classes across English, Maths, Science, Chinese, and Social Studies, with lessons taught by Doctorate and ex-MOE teachers. For families searching for Primary 4 tuition, the main appeal may be their combination of affordability, small classes, and support across several core subjects. Primary 4 can be a confusing year for parents because a child may still seem cheerful and cooperative, yet results start slipping for reasons that are not always obvious. With physical and online options, they are a practical choice for families comparing value-focused Primary 4 tuition centres.

Why Parents Choose Everyday Tuition?

Parents may choose Everyday Tuition because it combines small-group learning with relatively affordable monthly fees, which is often a major concern for families adding Primary 4 tuition to an already busy budget. Their teachers’ backgrounds may reassure parents who want more experienced instruction. The additional homework help and paper marking can also be meaningful, because many Primary 4 children still need regular correction and guided practice outside lesson time.

I am extremely grateful with Dr. Lu and her team of tutors (Teacher Pan and Ruizhuo) who are always doing the extra miles to make sure all the students excel and of course also enjoy the classes. After my girl joined the tuition, she had became more independent in doing her work and great improvement in her results as shown in her recent WA.

Because of the flexibility, we have the option to bring the kids down to the tuition center for physical lessons and also ask teacher questions if my child have difficulty with her school handwork. Digital tools had made it so feasible and everything is instant with just a message away. i can feel my child eagerness in attending the tuition lessons.

I have confident that the Dr. Lu and her team of tutors will bring the students to excel to new heights with their teaching materials and methods.

Once again, a BIG THANK YOU to EVERYDAY TUITION.

9. Bespoke Learning Centre

9. Bespoke Learning Centre

Overview of Business

Bespoke Learning Centre offers tuition and student care services, with a customised teaching style across core Primary subjects. For parents comparing Primary 4 tuition, Bespoke may stand out if your child needs close guidance, smaller groups, and steady follow-up outside class. At Primary 4, some children still need a lot of structure to stay on task, especially when homework gets heavier and parents are trying to juggle work and revision stress. Bespoke’s programmes are designed by former MOE teachers and aligned with the latest syllabus, while their classes stay small enough for more individual attention.

Why Parents Choose Bespoke Learning Centre?

Parents may choose Bespoke Learning Centre because the teaching style is customised and the class sizes stay small, which can be helpful for a Primary 4 child who is quietly falling behind rather than obviously struggling. Their 24/7 homework support via WhatsApp may also reduce the common evening battle where a child says they do not know how to continue. Because the curriculum is designed by former MOE teachers, parents may feel more assured that support stays relevant to school expectations.

Don’t recommend for this learning Center at wisteria mall.
The teacher and staff and so call manager can’t give a answer
1st - teacher keep come late and make us wait
2nd - the admin staff change the teacher for the day without informing the student parent
3rd - for primary 1 math , they teach the kids by using calculator and is not the first time.
4th - the manager keep reject me to say to the higher authority.

Think twice if you gonna send your kids to here.

10. EduZ Tuition

10. EduZ Tuition

Overview of Business

EduZ Tuition is a Singapore tuition provider offering both centre-based and online lessons across Primary, Secondary, and Junior College levels. For parents searching for Primary 4 tuition, EduZ may be worth considering if you want support in core school subjects without committing to a highly specialised or premium-priced provider. Primary 4 is often when families begin looking for something steady and sustainable, especially if school results are mixed and the child needs regular reinforcement more than intense intervention. EduZ covers English, Maths, Science, and Chinese at the Primary level, which makes it a practical option for children who need support in one or two areas under one roof.

Why Parents Choose EduZ Tuition?

Parents may shortlist EduZ Tuition because it covers the main Primary subjects and keeps fees at a more accessible range than some other Primary 4 tuition centres. That can matter if your child needs ongoing weekly lessons rather than a short burst of help. The option of both centre-based and online lessons adds flexibility for families managing transport, work schedules, or sibling logistics. Parents may also like that support is described as structured around students’ strengths and weaknesses.

How to Choose the Best Primary 4 Tuition for Your Child?

Choosing the right Primary 4 tuition is rarely just about picking the most famous name. A good fit depends on your child’s learning habits, weaker subjects, personality, and how much support your family realistically needs each week. As you compare Primary 4 tuition centres, it helps to keep a few practical points in mind.

  • Match the format to your child. Some children do better in one-to-one home tuition, while others stay motivated in a small group with peer energy.
  • Look closely at subject needs, because a child who is weak only in Maths may benefit more from a specialist provider than a general primary tuition centre.
  • Check the teaching approach, especially whether lessons focus on concept clarity, structured answering, guided practice, and useful feedback rather than just extra worksheets.
  • Consider tutor experience and class size, particularly if your child is shy, easily distracted, or tends to hide confusion in larger classes.
  • Factor in practical issues such as location, travel time, reviews, and budget, since even a strong programme may not work well if weekly attendance becomes tiring or stressful.

The best Primary 4 tuition is the one your child can learn from consistently and confidently. A trial class, a short conversation with the provider, and an honest look at your child’s daily struggles can often tell you more than any brochure.
