Finding the right Chinese tuition for your primary school child can feel more difficult than it should, especially when your child recognises some words in class but freezes during oral, struggles with comprehension, or avoids speaking Chinese at home. Many Singapore parents are not looking for just any Chinese tuition. They want lessons that match their child’s pace, confidence level and school needs. This guide compares 10 Primary Chinese tuition centres in Singapore, plus one home tuition option, so you can get a clearer sense of which Primary tuition setting may suit your child best. Whether you are hoping to build stronger foundations in lower primary, get better support for composition and oral, or prepare more steadily for PSLE, this list is meant to help you compare your options with less guesswork.
Key Takeaways
Primary Chinese Tuition works best when the teaching style matches your child’s confidence, language exposure and current weak areas.
Some Primary tuition centres focus on small-group classroom learning, while others offer one-to-one home Chinese tuition for more personalised support.
When comparing Primary Chinese tuition centres, look beyond brand name and consider oral practice, comprehension support, class size, location and realistic fees.
MindFlex – Your Best Platform for Primary Chinese Home Tuition
Overview of Business
MindFlex Tuition Agency is a Singapore home tuition agency that helps parents find suitable one-to-one Primary Chinese Tuition for children who need more targeted support than a fixed classroom setting may provide. Rather than running a single standard programme, MindFlex matches families with private tutors based on the child’s level, learning pace, schedule, budget and preferred tutor profile. For Primary Chinese, this can be useful when a child has very specific gaps, such as weak Hanyu Pinyin, poor vocabulary retention, difficulty with oral responses, or fear of composition writing. Lessons can take place at home or online, which gives families flexibility during busy school weeks. Because the matching process is personalised, parents can look for a tutor who is patient enough to rebuild basics, or one who can stretch a stronger child towards Higher Chinese or PSLE readiness.
Why Parents Choose MindFlex?
Many parents turn to MindFlex when they want individual attention without spending weeks searching on their own. The agency offers a free tutor-matching service, and parents can review tutor profiles before deciding. That matters for Primary Chinese Tuition because children often struggle for different reasons, and one-to-one lessons can address those gaps more directly. MindFlex also offers fast recommendations, including through its TUTOR EXPRESS™ system, which may help families who need support quickly after weaker school results.
Excellent customer service from MindFlex Home Tuition Megan. She was very patient, responsive, and took the time to understand my child’s learning needs and goals before recommending a tutor. Megan provided suitable options and helped us find a good English tutor who matched my child’s learning style. The whole process was smooth, professional, and stress-free. I appreciate her dedication and prompt follow-up throughout. Highly recommend Megan to parents looking for reliable support in finding the right tutor for their child.
I’m very grateful to MindFlex, especially Alyssa and her team, for their patience and dedication in helping to source a suitable tutor for my son.
This is the 2nd time I look for them to source a tutor. This time round I had more specific requirements, including the tutor’s age group, gender and most importantly, someone who is patient and able to communicate well with students who are weaker in Chinese. Alyssa and the team were understanding, responsive and professional throughout the entire process.
They took the effort to carefully match a tutor who suits my son’s learning needs and personality. I truly appreciate their commitment and excellent service. Highly recommended for parents looking for reliable and attentive tuition support!
I’m very happy with the tutoring service arranged by Alyssa and her team. Both tutors (Xinbo and Ban Cheng) have been great and my child really enjoys the lessons with them. We can already see some improvement, which is very encouraging.
Thank you for being so responsive and helpful throughout the arrangement process. Really appreciate the support and would definitely recommend them to other parents looking for reliable tutors.
Alyssa is a very supportive and reliable coordinator. She helped me secure Tamil tuition assignments smoothly and always communicates clearly and promptly. She is professional, friendly, and very easy to work with. I truly appreciate her effort in matching suitable students and providing assistance when needed. I would definitely recommend her and look forward to working with her again in the future. Radah Kasiramu
Being a tutor, I would like to sincerely thank MindFlex teams for the consistent support and assistance in helping me secure tuition assignments. I truly appreciate the effort of the agents, particularly Cassandra, Alyssa, Megan, Jerlyn and Jane, who put in great effort into the coordination with tutors and parents.
The agents have always been professional and helpful throughout the process. Their support and dedication have made it much easier for me to find suitable students and successfully close assignments.
It is definitely a pleasant experience working with MindFlex. I look forward to work together on more assignments in the future!

He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated—qualities that have made a huge difference in my son’s learning journey. My Primary 4 son has shown remarkable improvement in his Chinese since starting lessons, and we are so grateful for the progress.
Beyond the academic results, Mr. Tan’s teaching style has built my son’s confidence and interest in the subject. He is punctual, pleasant disposition and understands what a child needs. The entire experience with Mind Flex has also been very pleasant, professional, and supportive.

For Primary Chinese Tuition, tutors can focus directly on weaker components such as vocabulary, comprehension, oral conversation, listening and composition.
Home tutors can align lessons with school worksheets, spelling, ting xie, upcoming tests and PSLE preparation instead of following a rigid class plan.
A child who is shy in group Chinese tuition may find it easier to ask questions and speak more during private lessons.
Online tuition is also available for families who want a more flexible arrangement without travelling after school.
Location and Availability
Islandwide home tuition is available across Singapore, and online lessons can also be arranged.

MindFlex does not charge agency fees to parents for tutor matching. 1. Bespoke Learning Centre
Overview of Business
Bespoke Learning Centre offers small-group tuition for children from Primary 1 to Primary 6, with branches in Yishun, Punggol, Tampines and Sembawang. For parents looking at Primary Chinese Tuition, the centre may appeal if your child needs a more customised pace rather than a fast-moving large class. Their programmes are designed around the MOE syllabus, and Chinese is offered alongside English, Maths and Science. Class sizes are kept small, which matters in language learning because children often need correction in pronunciation, sentence construction and comprehension responses, not just more worksheets. Bespoke Learning Centre also provides WhatsApp homework support for enrolled students, which may be reassuring for parents whose child gets stuck after class.
Why Parents Choose Bespoke Learning Centre?
Parents often worry that their child is quietly falling behind in Chinese without showing it until test results come back. Bespoke Learning Centre may suit children who need close attention, because classes are capped at a small size and the teaching style is built around individual learning needs. Another practical draw is the homework support via WhatsApp for enrolled families, which gives children a chance to clarify schoolwork before mistakes become habits.
Bespoke Learning Centre has been wonderful for our kid. Ms Natasha and all teachers are caring and friendly. My child feels happy and safe there. The teachers help with schoolwork which takes a huge load off for us parents. The students are also taught about the importance of chores. My child enjoys the food here. We are glad we found this student care centre.
I'm truly grateful for the care and attention Bespoke provides to my child, prioritizing his well-being and safety. I wholeheartedly recommend this centre, especially Teacher Natasha and Teacher Killa, for the exceptional care they give to our son.
I’m very happy with this student care centre. The teachers and staff are caring, patient, and genuinely attentive to the children’s needs. They not only provide a safe and comfortable environment but also help with homework, encourage good habits, and organise fun, engaging activities. My child has grown more confident, independent, and always looks forward to going. Highly recommended to any parent looking for quality care and guidance for their child.
At Bespoke, the teachers are both professional and knowledgeable, creating a supportive and engaging environment for learning. The staff are approachable and make the center a welcoming place for students. My child enjoys attending Bespoke for after-school care, and I appreciate the wide range of activities available, especially during school holidays. They also assist with homework and provide additional assessments, which has been incredibly helpful. Overall, Bespoke offers a fantastic balance of education and recreation, and I’m very pleased with the care and support my child receives.
Don’t recommend for this learning Center at wisteria mall. The teacher and staff and so call manager can’t give a answer 1st - teacher keep come late and make us wait 2nd - the admin staff change the teacher for the day without informing the student parent 3rd - for primary 1 math , they teach the kids by using calculator and is not the first time. 4th - the manager keep reject me to say to the higher authority.
Think twice if you gonna send your kids to here.

Jiang Education Centre is a long-established specialist Chinese tuition provider that has been teaching Chinese since 1995. For parents comparing Primary Chinese Tuition, Jiang stands out for its deep subject focus and structured pathway from early Primary to PSLE. Their programmes cover reinforcement classes, oral, comprehension, composition and vocabulary support across different Primary levels, which is helpful when your child is not weak in everything but keeps stumbling in one or two components. The teaching approach is built around MOE expectations and exam readiness, with emphasis on reading, speaking and writing development over time. For families who want a Chinese-focused environment rather than a general Primary tuition centre, Jiang offers that specialist angle.
Why Parents Choose Jiang Education Centre?
Jiang Education Centre may appeal to parents who want Primary Chinese Tuition from a specialist rather than a broad multi-subject provider. The centre has long experience teaching Chinese across levels, and their Primary pathway includes focused support for oral, vocabulary, comprehension and composition, which are often the exact areas where children lose marks. The long track record also gives reassurance to families who want a centre familiar with PSLE standards and common Primary Chinese learning gaps.
Thanks to Chen laoshi, she is very dedicated and good with motivating students to practice Chinese.
After attending classes from the Jiang Education Centre, my daughter is now more proactive in Chinese reading and writing, especially after she scored better in her latest exam.
My little sister went from being horrendous in Chinese to becoming fluent in it. to Jiang Lao Shi, Liu Lao Shi and Chen Lao Shi. She also really enjoys the activities and class there. Like the recent Mother’s Day and Chinese tea sharing appreciations sessions. Highly recommend this tuition centre
My daughter joined Jiang Education in July 2023. Before enrolling, she could only read about 20% of the words in a passage. Just three months later, she was able to recognise around 80% of the words and read with much more confidence.
She also attended the June 2024 holiday oral class, as she lacked confidence in her oral test. To our surprise, she scored full marks!
Huge thanks to Liu Laoshi, Fang Laoshi, and Chen Laoshi for their patience, encouragement, and dedication. We’re truly grateful for the support from such a committed team. Highly recommended!
I would like to share some feedback regarding my recent experience at Jiang, as I believe it’s important for prospective parents to be aware of the services provided.
Unfortunately, I encountered several issues that left me quite disappointed.
1. **Receptionist Service:** When I visited to settle my child’s tuition fee, I experienced poor service from the receptionist. Although I was first in line, the receptionist prioritized individuals who were behind me in the queue. It took a bystander to point out that I should be served first, which was quite frustrating and reflected a lack of professionalism.
2. **Communication Issues:** I also faced challenges when trying to communicate via WhatsApp. My messages went unanswered until I called directly, which made me feel neglected as a parent. It seems that inquiries are only addressed during payment processing, which is concerning.
3. **Makeup Classes Policy:** When my child was unable to attend due to illness and provided a valid medical certificate, I was disheartened by the immediate response from the teacher, 刘老师, stating that there would be no makeup classes available. This felt dismissive, especially given the circumstances and that exam is approaching. Although I escalated the issue and received a better explanation regarding the teacher’s schedule, I was ultimately told that no makeup classes would be offered, despite valid reasons for absence.
4. **Lack of Response to Offset Suggestion:** Additionally, I had offered the suggestion that my child's absences be offset against the upcoming term fee. Unfortunately, this suggestion went unanswered, further highlighting the lack of engagement and responsiveness from the staff.
I hope this feedback encourages the management to improve their customer service and communication. It's crucial for parents to feel supported and heard, especially in educational settings. If you are considering enrolling your child here, I recommend being cautious and ensuring that you fully understand their policies and how they handle such situations.
Update to your response as of 21 Aug 2024 1. Thank you for your response. 2. While I acknowledge the receptionist's apology during our phone call, attributing delays to her age does not adequately address the need for efficient service. Moreover, she did not appear to be elderly. We are just highlighting the issues and challenges we faced, emphasizing the need for all staff to be trained to manage customer flow effectively and recognize who is next in line. 3. The main point is the communication and center policy issues. I appreciate your suggestion to call directly, which I did. However, it's frustrating that queries unrelated to fees are often overlooked. I've noticed that WhatsApp messages concerning fees receive immediate attention, while other inquiries seem to go unanswered and no call back from the centre either. This inconsistency is disappointing, and I believe all concerns should be treated with equal importance and urgency. 4. Regarding the makeup class policy, the receipt clearly states that replacement classes are on Wednesdays and Thursdays. However, there was no prior notification of the policy change, and simply applying the new policy without consideration for our specific case is unfair and unsuitable for a Primary 3 student who requires adult support. I remain concerned about my child's situation, especially since they missed a class due to illness, documented by a medical certificate. The sudden policy change is unacceptable. Due to their scheduled class being on the last day of the week, it's impossible for my child to join a subsequent class. We have requested a replacement class from the teacher, the receptionist, and the principal, but to no avail. 5. I strongly believe we have the right to seek an adjustment for the missed class fees based on the written conditions on the receipt. I stand by my request for compensation through an offset.

Simply Education has been around since 2003 and offers classroom tuition across core subjects, including Primary Chinese Tuition. With branches in Tampines, Hougang and Tiong Bahru, they are a familiar option for families who want a neighbourhood-based Primary tuition centre with multiple subjects under one roof. For Chinese, Simply Education positions its programme around building reading, writing, listening and speaking skills through structured and interactive lessons. This may suit children who need steady weekly reinforcement rather than an intensive specialist-only environment. Parents with more than one child may also appreciate the convenience of a broader academic provider.
Why Parents Choose Simply Education?
Some children do not respond well when Chinese feels like constant correction and memorisation. Simply Education may suit those learners because their lessons are designed to be interactive while still grounded in the MOE syllabus. Parents may also like the smaller class setup and the communication with parents, since regular updates can be helpful when you are trying to work out whether your child’s struggle is improving.
Ms Low has the best chemistry notes for both Organic and Inorganic Chemistry. Her tips regarding exam preparations as well as how to excel in certain topics , definitely helped me a lot with H2 chemistry!
the teachers here are kind, very committed and do their best to help us with any questions we have. with my chem tutor's -ms low's- help, i was able to go from a failing student to getting an A2 in O levels. despite joining the class last-minute, when O levels was just around the corner, she put in effort by texting me frequently to see if i understood the topics well and asnwered any questions i had for her. she made sure i understood earlier concepts by offering lesson videos which helped give me a deeper and clearer understanding as well as offered additional lessons to help catch up with the other students. she ensures that her students keep up well with the class by randomly calling on them to answer questions, and also texts us long messages to brief us on O levels and post-secondary education, so that we know what to expect. (she even held a Q&A session about tertiary education). she occasionally went through JC-level questions related to sec 4 topics so that we could have a deeper understanding about the sec 4 topic, and also know what to expect in JC chemistry.
My teachers at Simply Education have been nothing less than supportive and encouraging throughout my jc journey. I have been struggling with both math and chem despite consultations and extra classes with my teachers. However, after attending classes at Simply, i have a better grasp of the syllabus and saw improvement! more importantly, i felt confident and encouraged to give the subjects a second try.
Took chemistry lessons since secondary school till JC with Ms Low and she has helped me improve tremendously and even made me like chemistry altogether. She is efficient in her teaching and goes the extra mile to help her students. She also pushes her student to work harder to achieve better grades.
Ms Low was very detailed in her teaching and helped me get A for chem A levels! My favourite thing about her style of teaching is she exposes us to many alternate and effective ways of problem solving and i was definitely able to use these methods during my actual exams. Shes also very helpful outside of class and entertained the multitude of questions i had for her, aiding in me understanding the subject to a better degree. Fast- paced lessons as well helps to keep u from ever feeling sleepy during tuition. Thnks Ms Low🤟🤟

Yanzi Mandarin is a specialist Chinese tuition and enrichment provider that has been teaching since 1997. For parents specifically searching for Primary Chinese Tuition, this is one of the more focused options on the list because Chinese is its main area. Programmes are available from Primary 1 to Primary 6, with separate emphasis on foundation building, skills development and PSLE preparation. Yanzi Mandarin also highlights support for children from English-speaking families, which is a real concern in Singapore households where Chinese is not naturally used at home. Classes are available in-centre or online, giving families a little more flexibility.
Why Parents Choose Yanzi Mandarin?
Yanzi Mandarin may be especially appealing to parents whose child is bright overall but unusually weak or resistant in Chinese. Their small class size, up to six students, matters because Chinese errors often need direct correction. The centre also explicitly supports children from English-speaking families, so lessons are designed with that reality in mind. Parents may also like that all core Chinese components are covered, including oral, comprehension and composition.
yanzi mandarin has helped me feel more confident in my chinese abilities and has made learning the language enjoyable! i joined with little confidence in the language and was struggling with hcl. lin lao shi helped me improve and i scored an a1 for cl and a b3 for hcl!! thankyou lin lao shi for being so engaging and patient!!!❤️❤️
I have been learning from 林老师 since I was secondary 2 in 2021. Although I am taking the IB curriculum, she has been adaptive, patient and supportive towards me, tailoring each class to suit the content I needed. The techniques and skills she introduced helped me consistently achieve high scores in HL Chinese, with 28/30 for all my compos over the past 2 years. Her clear and structured teaching style not only made learning Chinese much easier but also deepened my interest in the subject. I am very grateful to 林老师 and highly recommend her!
I used to consistently fail Chinese in Secondary 3 until my senior recommended that I join Yanzi. After joining Yanzi, my scores improved drastically, and I began scoring at least an A2 in every exam. I find Yanzi effective because the materials the teachers use are very concise and straight to the point. The teachers are not only strict about the quality of our work, but they also care about their students’ wellbeing. Whenever a student falls behind, the teacher makes sure that he or she catches up with the rest of the class. Even if it means sacrificing her rest time, the teacher will always go the extra mile to help her students. I remember that as my Chinese O Levels drew nearer, I was extremely nervous and had little confidence that I would do well. However, my Yanzi teacher constantly encouraged me and reminded me that she believed in me, which motivated me to keep going. During that period, I would often text my teachers and visit the centre several times a week to submit practice papers. Despite her busy schedule, my teacher still marked all my work and gave me detailed feedback, including tips and strategies to handle different types of essays and Paper 2 questions. Another thing I like about Yanzi Tuition Centre is its small class size, which makes it much easier for students to speak up and ask questions. All in all, I would definitely recommend Yanzi Tuition Centre.
I joined Yanzi Chinese Tuition in Secondary 3, when I was really struggling with my Chinese and only scoring around a C5. With the patient guidance of the teachers and their dedication, I was able to improve steadily, and eventually achieved a B3 for my O-Levels! The teachers are very caring and always willing to explain concepts clearly, no matter how many times I asked. The notes and learning materials they provide are extremely useful, well-structured, and make it so much easier to understand and apply what I’ve learned. I’m really grateful for the support and encouragement I received at Yanzi Chinese Tuition. It made a big difference in my confidence and results. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to improve their Chinese!
I joined Yanzi Chinese Tuition just a month ago, and the progress I’ve made has been remarkable—my scores have jumped from 35/70 to consistently above 55/70. The tuition is extremely well-structured and focused on helping students excel specifically in the O-Level Chinese syllabus. The materials provided are of outstanding quality, including in-depth notes, carefully selected vocabulary lists, top-scoring model essays, and step-by-step guidance on how to approach each component of the exam, from comprehension and summary to composition and oral. These resources are regularly updated and aligned with the latest exam trends, making it easy to follow and revise efficiently. The teachers are not only highly qualified but also genuinely passionate about teaching; they go the extra mile to ensure every student keeps up, often staying back after class to offer individual support and clarify doubts. Their feedback is always constructive and personalised, helping me understand exactly where and how to improve. The classroom environment is another strong point—it is calm, focused, and respectful, yet still friendly and encouraging, which makes learning much more effective. Overall, Yanzi Chinese Tuition strikes a rare balance between academic rigour and student support, and I would highly recommend it to any student who is serious about improving their Chinese grades and gaining real confidence in the subject.

Hua Cheng Education Centre specialises in Chinese enrichment and tuition, making it a relevant option for parents who want Primary Chinese Tuition from a provider focused heavily on the language itself. Part of the Learning Point Group, Hua Cheng offers Primary Chinese support from the early years through PSLE, with regular tuition and booster-style preparation for major exam components. Their Primary programme covers reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension and oral communication. Hua Cheng’s emphasis on native-speaking tutors and MOE-aligned teaching may appeal to parents who want children exposed to more natural Mandarin while still staying closely tied to local school demands.
Why Parents Choose Hua Cheng Education Centre?
For some families, the biggest problem is not that their child refuses tuition, it is that Chinese tuition has not translated into visible school improvement. Hua Cheng Education Centre may appeal because their approach is exam-conscious while still covering core language foundations. Parents who want stronger support in oral, composition and comprehension may find that useful, since these are often the components where children lose confidence fastest.
We enrolled our daughter at Hua Cheng Thomson Plaza last year to prepare her for her PSLE. After joining Hua Cheng, she became more confident in her Chinese and thanks to the efforts of her tutor, Ms Ma, she did well in both her Chinese and Higher Chinese.
The administrative staff at the center is also very helpful and responsive whenever we have any enquiry and need clarification.
We are very surprised by my child’s “O” Level Chinese results. She rarely speaks Chinese, lower sec results were not good, and I would be happy if can even achieve B3, but she had A1 instead for her Chinese and distinction for her oral. I’m sure her Teacher Liu makes a lot of difference in inspiring her. Spoke with the teacher a few times and can tell she is very passionate and committed in wanting the students to do well. Very grateful for her commitment and efforts. Thks
I’d like to thank Li laoshi for her guidance. As a student who has graduated from her tutelage of 4 years, her positive attitude and straightforward feedback have been indispensable to my growth.
The teachers are very patient and consistently update parents on the areas where the children need support. My daughter’s results were not ideal initially, but within just nine months at Hua Cheng, her PSLE Prelim score improved from 6 points to 5 points. Even after the PSLE, the teachers continued to follow up with us. Although we have already left the centre after the PSLE, we still highly recommend Hua Cheng to everyone.
My boys have been with Hua Cheng for a few years. In particular, I would like compliment Zhou Lao Shi for her good guidance and hard work. Hope she can continue to be the teacher for James and Keith next year in P4. Our boys enjoy her lessons a lot and their Chinese have improved under her teaching. Thanks for being a great teacher!

MindChamps is better known to many parents for its early childhood programmes, but it also offers Primary Chinese Tuition from Primary 1 to Primary 6. For families already familiar with the brand, the appeal may be the continuity of a research-backed learning environment that places emphasis on mindset, confidence and engagement, not only academic output. In Primary Chinese, their enrichment approach uses multimodal activities such as picture books, storytelling, multimedia and roleplay to build comprehension, speaking and writing. That can be especially helpful for younger children who are disengaged from Chinese because they see it as a purely textbook subject.
Why Parents Choose MindChamps?
MindChamps may appeal to parents who feel their child’s Chinese problem is not just about marks, but also mindset. Some children switch off because they associate Chinese with stress and embarrassment. The more interactive approach here may help those learners reconnect with the language through stories, roleplay and structured activities. Because MindChamps takes a more developmental approach, it may suit younger children who need confidence and interest rebuilt first.
Mind Champs Toa Payoh is the best. My kid love the teacher, friends there. Every day she is full of passion to go. The friends there are all well educated and very friendly l.
The MindChamps CNY celebration was so fun and thoughtfully planned! The festive setup was vibrant, and there were plenty of interactive activities for the kids. Big thanks to the teachers for making it such a joyful and memorable experience for the children.
Excellent organisation and games. Enjoyed the thoughts to provide an artwork that my daughter can bring home. The puppet show was great. Overall a fun experience for the family
We had such a wonderful experience at the school’s Chinese New Year celebration! The event was very well organized, with beautiful decorations that created a festive and joyful atmosphere. My daughter especially enjoyed the engaging and meaningful activities, and it was lovely to see the children so involved and happy.
A big thank you to all the teachers and staff for your hard work, effort, and dedication in making this celebration so special. It is truly appreciated!
My son started with MindChamps since N1. It has been great experience. Teachers and staff are very responsible and kind. My son enjoys the cirriculum which includes lots of fun activities as well as academic learning.

Little Gems Learning Centre is a dedicated Chinese tuition provider, which makes it a straightforward option for parents who want Primary Chinese Tuition from a specialist rather than a general academic centre. Their Primary programmes run from Primary 1 to Primary 6 and are built around the MOE Chinese syllabus. Beyond regular weekly classes, they also have oral and composition support, HanYu PinYin foundation work and one-to-one guidance options. That mix may suit families whose child does not fit neatly into one category, for example, a child who is coping in school Chinese overall but has weak pronunciation, weak oral confidence, or poor composition structure.
Why Parents Choose Little Gems Learning Centre?
Little Gems Learning Centre may suit parents who feel their child needs Chinese taught in a more approachable way, without losing academic rigour. Their focus on MOE-aligned Chinese and personalised support is relevant for children whose struggle shows up differently across levels. The availability of one-to-one guidance is also helpful for parents who already know their child gets lost in bigger group settings.
My daughter has always been very weak in chinese. When she first started at Little Gems, her foundation was poor and she had little to no interest in the language. Two years on, my daughter’s chinese has improved and she tells me she now enjoys learning the language. The tutors at Little Gems catered to her ability and found ways to connect with her so that she can gain confidence and appreciate the language as part of daily life. The centre is very flexible and would adjust class schedules to maximise revision during exam periods. My daughter’s grades has seen vast improvement. Can’t be more grateful to Little Gems for making a real difference!
I only started my children with Little Gems 5 months ago in June 2025. They were both failing miserably in P1. The teachers are incredibly kind, patient and supportive. I have seen such big improvements in the standard of Chinese for my kids in just 5 months. Highly recommend this centre, especially if your kids are like mine and don’t speak Chinese at all in the home. The teachers do 1 on 1 and follow the MOE syllabus, which is so helpful. They don’t push or scold but use encouraging words and methods.
My daughter has been taking lessons at Little Gems for the past 6 years. Her teachers over the years have all been extremely caring and kind towards her, patiently adapting their teaching methods to suit my daughter's personality and needs. Under their tutelage, her grades have improved significantly over the years - am truly grateful. If you are seeking a learning centre that does not merely follow a cookie-cutter format of teaching, where the teacher never gives up on the student, this is the place to come to.
The teachers here are very patient and give thoughtful, practical advice. They didn’t push kids to learn in a way that makes them dislike Chinese. Instead, they adjust their teaching methods based on each child’s needs. Highly recommended!
My daughter has been learning Chinese at Little Gems for over four years. I highly recommend their one-on-one program, where the teachers are not only encouraging, dedicated, and experienced, but also flexible in adjusting their teaching methods to meet the needs of each child. As a result, my daughter is not only at the top of her class in Chinese but also loves learning the language!

Hao Chinese Tuition is a specialist Chinese provider offering programmes from preschool to secondary levels, including dedicated support for Primary Chinese Tuition. Their curriculum is aligned with the MOE syllabus, and the team includes ex-MOE Chinese teachers, curriculum specialists and educators with advanced Chinese language qualifications. Hao Chinese Tuition also highlights support for students from English-speaking households, which is especially relevant in Singapore where many children can understand basic instructions but struggle to respond naturally in Chinese. Their classes are kept small, usually around six to eight students, so children can get more speaking time and faster correction.
Why Parents Choose Hao Chinese Tuition?
Hao Chinese Tuition may appeal to parents whose child needs a firmer Chinese foundation, not just more exam drilling. Their team includes teachers who can explain in English when needed, which often makes a big difference for children from English-speaking homes. The small class size is also important because oral fluency, pronunciation and vocabulary gaps are easier to spot and correct in a smaller setting. Parents may also like the weekly progress tracking and updates.
My 2 girls are in Hao Chinese Tuition Centre since mid last year. Their chinese results are improving. The teachers are friendly, nice and passionate in teaching. They always update me on my daughter’s progression in class and how to help them improve better. Thumbs up to the teachers not just teaching but yet have alot of care and concern to every student. 👍🏼
I’m very happy to have my P4 and P6 children enrolled at HAO Chinese Tuition Centre. Both Zhao Lao Shi and Ci Lao Shi are very dedicated and always show genuine care for their students.
They are patient, encouraging, and committed to helping each child improve and gain confidence in Chinese. My children enjoy their lessons and have made good progress under their guidance.
I truly appreciate the teachers’ hard work and the supportive learning environment at HAO. Highly recommended!
Just had a regular f2f review with my son teacher (which is great to have) and glad to know the teachers such as Zhao laoshi know our kids very well! Very comforted to have started this journey with Hao. Appreciate the special support rendered to my elder psle son too! Tks to all! 👍
I’ve been in this tuition centre for over a year now and I think I’ve improve. i went from D7 (Right before going to the tuition centre) on my first WA to B4 in my End-of-year exam (After about a year in the centre). I really like the teaching style here as the style is extremely interactive and engaging as someone who only started learning chinese at 7 I would usually find Chinese boring and would always hate my Chinese lessons but in this centre, some times I wouldn’t even realise how much time have passed. The teaching style is also very consistent regardless of the teachers here. The teachers are also extremely friendly and encouraging, but they will still correct you when you didn’t do homework or when they think you are not trying hard enough. Overall this tuition centre works for me and I recommend it especially for people that find Chinese boring.
I’m incredibly pleased with the progress my son has made since enrolling in this Chinese tuition centre. The teachers are patient, encouraging, and truly dedicated to helping each child build confidence in the language. Their lessons are well-structured, engaging, and tailored to different learning styles, which has made a huge difference for my son. The centre provides a warm and supportive environment, and the regular updates on his progress help us stay involved and aware of how he’s doing. I would highly recommend this centre to any parent looking for quality Chinese language support for their child!

Mandarin Stars is a newer specialist provider, but it has a very specific niche within Primary Chinese Tuition. The centre focuses on children in mainstream MOE schools who struggle with Chinese due to underlying learning challenges such as poor working memory, dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, literacy delays or low confidence. For parents who have tried regular Chinese tuition and still feel their child is not coping, this angle may be especially meaningful. Mandarin Stars keeps its Primary classes very small, often two to five students, and uses customised materials informed by psychology and educational research.
Why Parents Choose Mandarin Stars?
Some children are labelled lazy in Chinese when the real issue is that the usual classroom pace simply does not work for them. Mandarin Stars may appeal to parents who suspect their child needs more specialised support, especially if regular tuition has led to frustration without real progress. Their tiny class sizes allow close pacing, immediate feedback and more customised scaffolding. Parents may also appreciate the confidence-building approach.
Our child has been taking classes at Mandarin Stars for almost a year. He previously attended an international school with minimal exposure to mandarin. The teachers have been incredibly patient and encouraging. I am glad to have Mandarin Stars on his journey !
Teachers are great and has helped my kid with language difficulties and dyslexia (diagnosed) to cope with Chinese and has improved his Chinese progressively. More importantly, he has not shy away from lessons and grown to be more attentive as the lessons are geared in a manner that is suitable for his level so that he doesn’t feel overwhelmed or frustrated. The teachers also guided him well and that support is key for him to build confidence and want to improve .
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Frances and her wonderful team at Mandarin Star. Their professionalism and dedication have made my son’s learning experience truly enjoyable.
A special thank you to Teacher Lay Yen, who has been exceptionally patient, encouraging, and committed. Her thoughtful guidance and sincere care have made a big difference.
We are grateful for the support and would highly recommend Mandarin Star to anyone looking for a positive and effective Mandarin learning environment.
Brandon really enjoys his lessons at Mandarinstars Learning. The classes include a fun points reward system — students earn points for doing well, and they can redeem gifts with their points. Brandon is always excited to tell me how many points he has collected!
During the school holidays, he also enjoys the art lessons that incorporate Mandarin learning, making the experience both creative and educational. He always looks forward to attending his next class at Mandarinstars Learning.
The teachers at Mandarin Star are always so patient with my son. He is on the spectrum as well as ADHD, and they are able to handle him well. We come from a totally non-Chinese speaking family and he is able to recognize characters, his pronunciation needs work on but that’s a given since he is not exposed to it outside of class, but seeing him able to do homework on his own is already a great feat for us. Thank you Francis and teachers!

SLC School of Language and Communication offers Chinese and English programmes across several levels, including Primary Chinese Tuition. Founded by BT Communication and led by former Singaporean school teachers, SLC may appeal to parents who want language tuition shaped by educators familiar with both curriculum demands and how children actually learn. Their Primary Chinese programmes cover foundation building, vocabulary, sentence construction, oral preparation, reading comprehension and composition, with variations for different Primary levels and Higher Chinese readiness. A notable feature is their profile banding approach, which looks at learning style, behaviour and language proficiency before grouping students.
Why Parents Choose SLC School of Language and Communication?
SLC may suit parents who want Primary Chinese Tuition that feels carefully structured rather than one-size-fits-all. Their programmes are guided by experienced teachers and shaped around how children learn, which may matter if your child is capable but inconsistent. The small group size also gives room for individual attention without losing the social benefit of learning with peers. For families who want flexibility, the hybrid format can also make tuition attendance easier to sustain across the year.
My child received excellent guidance and support in Chinese from teachers Wan Ki, Siew Fong and Tan Cheng at SLC!
The online lessons are well-structured, engaging, and suited to my child’s learning pace. The teachers are patient and provide useful practice and feedback. In addition, the teachers are accommodating to the timing of the make up lessons. The administrative support is great too.
Highly recommend SLC for students who need help with their languages!
I am so glad chosen SLC for my son English tuition. He has been constantly showing improvement. SLC is the only centre that been keeping me update of his progress on a weekly basis. Thanks to SLC my son received most outstanding improvement award this year.
My daughter went for tuition in secondary school chinese in SLC for last 2 years. She has a very patient and kind teacher and she looks forward to classes. Her chinese improved a lot and she had an A grade for her chinese this year. Her teacher gave detailed feedback every lesson which helps us a lot. Appreciate the hard work of SLC teachers and admin staff!
Tutor Ben is a dedicated teacher and shows genuine interest in the welfare of the students beyond just academic. My child appreciates his classes as he engages them, pitch it at the level he’s at, and makes the lessons less boring. He is also open to parents’ feedback and gives helpful guides to parents from time to time so we can reinforce from home. Recommended 👍
SLC is a great place for tuition if you want a personalized experience. Your syllabus is customized for your learning and can also put you ahead of your peers in terms of answering and writing techniques, and vocabulary.
The tutors are very casual and friendly, so do not be afraid to strike up a conversation with them, but don't drag it on! They also can go fast or slow, depending on your preference!

How to Choose the Best Primary Chinese Tuition for Your Child?
The best Primary Chinese Tuition is not always the most famous or the most intensive option. What usually matters more is whether the class genuinely suits your child’s learning style, current gaps and emotional response to Chinese. Before deciding, it helps to compare each Primary Chinese tuition centre using a few practical points.
Choose based on your child’s actual subject needs, such as weak oral confidence, poor comprehension, limited vocabulary, shaky Hanyu Pinyin or PSLE preparation pressure.
Look carefully at the teaching approach, because some children do better in specialist Chinese tuition, while others need one-to-one home support or a gentler, more interactive class.
Consider tutor experience and class size, especially if your child is quiet, easily lost in bigger groups, or needs more frequent correction and feedback.
Check location, lesson format, reviews and how well the schedule fits your weekly routine.
Keep budget in view, but weigh it against what your child is actually getting, including materials, feedback, oral practice and parent communication.
A balanced shortlist usually works better than chasing a perfect answer. With the right Primary Chinese Tuition, many children do not just improve their marks, they also slowly become less afraid of the subject, and that is often the turning point parents have been hoping for.
