Free Request For Tuition

If your teen is struggling with journal entries, source documents, or the logic behind financial statements, you are definitely not alone. Secondary POA tuition often becomes a serious consideration once school lessons start moving quickly and your teen begins memorising formats without really understanding why each account changes. This guide is for parents comparing Secondary POA tuition options in Singapore, especially if you are deciding between a specialist POA tuition centre, a broader secondary tuition provider, or one-to-one home support. Below, you will find 10 options that may suit different learning needs, budgets, and schedules, so you can choose a Secondary POA tuition arrangement that fits your teen in a realistic and sustainable way.

Key Takeaways

  • Secondary POA tuition works best when it helps teens understand accounting logic, not just memorise answer formats.
  • The right secondary POA tuition centre depends on your teen’s weaker areas, preferred class size, schedule, and whether they need exam-focused support or stronger foundations.
  • Parents should compare teaching style, tutor experience, location, reviews, and fee fit before choosing among POA tuition centres.

MindFlex – Your Best Platform for Secondary Poa Home Tuition

MindFlex - Your Best Platform for Secondary Poa Home Tuition

Overview of Business

MindFlex Tuition Agency is a Singapore home tuition agency that helps parents find suitable private tutors for Secondary POA tuition, rather than placing teens into one fixed in-house class. For families dealing with uneven school results, weak accounting foundations, or last-minute exam concerns, this can be a practical model because tutor matching is based on your teen’s level, subject needs, schedule, budget, and preferred tutor profile. MindFlex supports a wide range of secondary subjects and major exam tracks, including Principles of Accounts for Upper Secondary students. Since lessons can be arranged at home or online, parents have more flexibility than with a standard secondary POA tuition centre. This may suit teens who need quieter one-to-one support, closer correction of mistakes, or a more customised pace when topics like double entry, ledger posting, and financial statements are still not clicking in school.

Why Parents Choose MindFlex?

Many parents turn to MindFlex when they want Secondary POA tuition that feels tailored rather than one-size-fits-all. One teen may be far behind and need patient, step-by-step teaching, while another may only need targeted help with exam technique and revision. MindFlex can match families with part-time tutors, full-time tutors, or ex/current MOE teachers, depending on needs and budget. Their free matching service also reduces the pressure to commit too quickly. For busy teens juggling school, CCA, and homework, home or online POA tuition can also cut travelling time and make regular support much easier to keep up.

I’m very grateful to MindFlex, especially Alyssa and her team, for their patience and dedication in helping to source a suitable tutor for my son.

This is the 2nd time I look for them to source a tutor. This time round I had more specific requirements, including the tutor’s age group, gender and most importantly, someone who is patient and able to communicate well with students who are weaker in Chinese. Alyssa and the team were understanding, responsive and professional throughout the entire process.

They took the effort to carefully match a tutor who suits my son’s learning needs and personality. I truly appreciate their commitment and excellent service. Highly recommended for parents looking for reliable and attentive tuition support!

It has truly been a blessing to find Mr. Tan Tiam Teng as my son’s Chinese tutor. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated—qualities that have made a huge difference in my son’s learning journey. My Primary 4 son has shown remarkable improvement in his Chinese since starting lessons, and we are so grateful for the progress.

Beyond the academic results, Mr. Tan’s teaching style has built my son’s confidence and interest in the subject. He is punctual, pleasant disposition and understands what a child needs. The entire experience with Mind Flex has also been very pleasant, professional, and supportive.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a tutor who genuinely cares and delivers excellent results

Friendly, pleasant, swift, helpful and most importantly not pushy

Teaching Methodology

  • Lessons are personalised one-to-one, so tutors can focus directly on weak POA topics such as double entry, ledger accounts, correction of errors, and financial statements.
  • Tutors can align each lesson to the teen’s school syllabus, recent test results, homework load, and upcoming O Level or N Level timeline.
  • One-to-one teaching may help quieter teens ask questions more comfortably, especially when they feel embarrassed about basic accounting gaps in a group class.
  • For exam preparation, tutors can spend time on question interpretation, common POA formats, and correcting repeated mistakes before they become habits.
  • Home or online lessons also make it easier to keep support consistent during especially busy school periods.

Location and Availability

Islandwide home tuition is available in Singapore, and online lessons can also be arranged for families who prefer a more flexible setup. This is useful for teens who would benefit from one-to-one POA support without extra travel after school.

1. Nanyang Educational Consultancy

1. Nanyang Educational Consultancy

Overview of Business

Nanyang Educational Consultancy, established in 2008, is a multi-subject tuition provider supporting students across Primary, Secondary, and Junior College levels. For parents looking at Secondary POA tuition, the key point is that they offer Principles of Accounts for secondary students alongside English, Math, Lower Secondary Science, and Upper Secondary science subjects. That wider academic coverage can be helpful if your teen taking POA also needs support in another content-heavy subject, because families may be able to coordinate tuition in one place. Nanyang Educational Consultancy positions its lessons around individual learning pace and focused support, which may suit teens who are trying to catch up after weak class tests rather than only drilling final exam papers. Their teaching team includes NIE-trained tutors, and the emphasis on an updated curriculum may reassure parents who worry that their teen is practising old formats or learning procedures without fully understanding current syllabus demands.

Why Parents Choose Nanyang Educational Consultancy?

Parents comparing Secondary POA tuition may appreciate Nanyang Educational Consultancy for its long track record and its focus on guided learning without excessive pressure. That can matter for teens who already feel discouraged by POA, because fear often leads to blind memorisation rather than real understanding. The centre also highlights active tutor mentoring and small-group attention in some programmes, which may appeal to parents whose teen needs more interaction, closer correction, and encouragement to speak up. Since they teach a broad secondary range, families may also find them practical if POA struggles are happening alongside Math, English, or Science weaknesses.

I’m a student at Nanyang Educational Consultancy (West Coast Tuition), and I’ve had Mr Thasshvind as my tutor for the past year. He’s really friendly and makes lessons feel light-hearted, but he’s strict when he needs to be. I can be a bit of a “naughty” student, yet he’s incredibly patient and has this amazing way of explaining Maths (my weakest subject) so clearly that I finally passed my O-Level after struggling for 5 years. If you want a tutor who’s fun, patient, and actually makes Maths click, he’s the one!

My son Ethan has just only started tuition at Nanyang Educational Centre at Ang Mo Kio this year, in preparation for his PSLE. English, Chinese and Science were his subjects that he needed help in, and he definitely got that at Nanyang Educational Centre! Even though he started late mid term, his grades still improved and he was so happy the moment he got his results, with a huge wide smile across his face! Thank u Nanyang Educational Centre for the help and support u have shown!

Subjects Offered

  • Secondary English (Sec 1-4)
  • Secondary Math (Sec 1-4)
  • A Math (Sec 3-4)
  • Secondary Science (Sec 1-2)
  • Combined Science (Sec 3-4)
  • Pure Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Sec 3-4)
  • Principles of Accounts (Sec 3-4)
  • O Level Preparation (Sec 4)
  • N Level Preparation (Sec 4)

Teaching Methodology

  • Lessons are shaped around each student’s learning pace, which may help teens who grasp POA concepts more slowly and need time to understand why accounts move in certain ways.
  • The Tutors Mentoring Programme emphasises tutor interaction and coaching instead of leaving students to passively copy worked answers.
  • The curriculum is updated to match the latest syllabus, which helps reduce the risk of practising outdated approaches.
  • NIE-trained tutors are selected for subject knowledge and communication skills, which matters in POA where a clear explanation often helps more than extra worksheets.
  • The wider teaching approach focuses on building confidence without adding unnecessary stress, which may support teens who shut down after repeated poor marks.

Nanyang Educational Consultancy has multiple branches across Singapore, including Ang Mo Kio, Bendemeer, Bukit Panjang, Pasir Ris, Sembawang, Sengkang, Tanjong Katong, Tiong Bahru, West Coast, and Yio Chu Kang. 2. Bespoke Learning Centre

2. Bespoke Learning Centre

Overview of Business

Bespoke Learning Centre offers tuition from Pre-Primary to Secondary 4/5, with four locations in Yishun, Punggol, Tampines, and Sembawang. For parents searching for Secondary POA tuition, Bespoke Learning Centre stands out as a broader secondary tuition provider that includes Principles of Accounts alongside English, E Math, A Math, Combined Science, Pure Sciences, Combined Humanities, and Chinese. Their overall approach is built around customised teaching and small-group classes, which can be useful for teens who are falling behind in POA but may not need fully private tuition. This matters because many secondary students do not struggle with POA simply because of effort alone. Often, they cannot see the logic behind the entries, or they are too shy to admit that they are lost. Bespoke Learning Centre’s structured support and homework help may therefore appeal to parents looking for steady, practical academic backup.

Why Parents Choose Bespoke Learning Centre?

Parents often look at Bespoke Learning Centre when they want a secondary POA tuition centre with small classes and clear teacher support outside lesson time. Their class size cap of around 8 students for secondary subjects can matter for teens who go quiet in larger groups and need direct feedback before misconceptions become routine. Bespoke Learning Centre also provides 24/7 homework support via WhatsApp for enrolled students, which may help when your teen gets stuck halfway through accounting homework and frustration builds quickly. Since many tutors are former MOE teachers, some parents may also find reassurance in a syllabus-aligned, school-aware teaching approach.

At Bespoke, the teachers are both professional and knowledgeable, creating a supportive and engaging environment for learning. Don’t recommend for this learning Center at wisteria mall.
The teacher and staff and so call manager can’t give a answer
1st - teacher keep come late and make us wait
2nd - the admin staff change the teacher for the day without informing the student parent
3rd - for primary 1 math , they teach the kids by using calculator and is not the first time.
4th - the manager keep reject me to say to the higher authority.

Think twice if you gonna send your kids to here.

Subjects Offered

  • Secondary English (Sec 1-4)
  • E Math (Sec 1-4)
  • A Math (Sec 3-4)
  • Secondary Science (Sec 1-2)

  • Combined Humanities (Sec 3-4)
  • Principles of Accounts (Sec 3-4)
  • Secondary Chinese (Sec 1-4)
  • O Level Preparation (Sec 4)
  • N Level Preparation (Sec 4)

Teaching Methodology

  • Lessons are customised to each teen’s pace, which may help if your child needs POA concepts retaught from the basics instead of being pushed straight into exam papers.
  • Small group classes allow tutors to notice when a teen is copying formats mechanically without understanding the accounting logic behind them.
  • Personalised learning plans can help target specific weaknesses, such as journal entries, ledger posting, or financial statement presentation.
  • Former MOE teachers design the curriculum, which may reassure parents who want support that stays close to school expectations.
  • 24/7 homework support via WhatsApp can be especially useful for POA, where one unresolved misconception can affect an entire question.

Bespoke Learning Centre has physical branches in Yishun, Punggol, Tampines, and Sembawang. This may suit families in the north and east who want regular secondary tuition in a nearby neighbourhood setting.

3. SG POA

3. SG POA

Overview of Business

SG POA is one of the more clearly specialised options on this list for Secondary POA tuition. Formerly known as Wynn Education Centre, they focus strongly on Principles of Accounts and Math, while also teaching selected Science subjects. For parents who prefer a secondary POA tuition centre with a sharper subject focus rather than a broad all-subject setup, SG POA may feel more directly matched to your teen’s needs. Their teaching team includes MOE-trained and former MOE teachers, and the POA programme is led by Mr Wynn Khoo, a specialist with more than 10 years of experience and authorship of POA assessment books used by schools. That specialist depth can matter when a teen is not just weak at memorising formats, but genuinely confused by the logic of entries, question phrasing, and answering tactics under the newer syllabus. Small-group or one-to-one attention is also part of their approach.

Why Parents Choose SG POA?

Parents often shortlist SG POA because it is not trying to be everything to everyone. For a teen struggling specifically with POA, that subject specialisation can feel reassuring. SG POA also places strong emphasis on lesson clarity, real-life examples, and personalised notes, which may help when your teen says they can copy solutions but still do not understand why the answer works. Their teachers are full-time and experienced rather than casual part-timers, and testimonials mention big improvements in POA grades. For parents worried about weak foundations before N Level or O Level preparation, that targeted focus can be especially meaningful.

Teaching Methodology

  • POA lessons are built around clarity, with concepts first explained through real-life examples before students tackle different question variations.
  • Specially curated notes and flowcharts may help teens organise accounting ideas more clearly instead of memorising disconnected formats.
  • Small-group or one-to-one settings give students room to clear doubts immediately, which is important in POA where confusion can snowball quickly.

4. RG Channel Future School

4. RG Channel Future School

Overview of Business

RG Channel Future School, also known as RGCFS, has been operating since 1988 and offers tuition for primary and secondary students. While they are broader than a pure POA specialist, they do include secondary POA tuition for O Level and N Level learners, alongside English and Math support. For parents, this can be relevant if your teen’s POA difficulties are tied to wider academic issues such as weak comprehension, poor interpretation of questions, or inconsistent exam technique across subjects. RGCFS highlights more than three decades of experience, small focused groups, and regular in-house assessments, which may appeal to families who want structured progress monitoring rather than informal help alone. Their messaging also leans strongly towards confidence-building and engaging lessons. That matters because many teens do not dislike POA itself, they simply lose confidence once mistakes in one account start affecting the entire question and marks keep slipping.

Why Parents Choose RG Channel Future School?

Parents may consider RG Channel Future School for its long history and its small, focused group setup. In secondary POA tuition, that can matter when a teen needs some personal attention but still learns well in a shared class environment. RGCFS also includes biannual assessments and feedback, which may help parents who want more visibility on whether their child is actually improving or simply attending lessons. Their approach places emphasis on confidence and application, not just content coverage. For teens who freeze during school tests or misread what accounting questions are asking, that practical, exam-aware support can be useful.

You know, for ages, maths tuition felt like just another chore. I'd go, listen, and still feel utterly lost when faced with a tricky question. Then, my seniors started raving about RG Channel Future School, and honestly, I was a bit sceptical, but decided to give it a shot. And wow, am I glad I did! From that very first maths session, something just clicked. It was the first time I genuinely felt like, "Hey, maybe I can actually master this!"

The biggest game-changer for me has been Teacher Alex. He's just brilliant. Seriously, he takes these confusing, challenging maths problems and breaks them down into such small, digestible parts that it's like a lightbulb goes off every time. Suddenly, things that seemed impossible make perfect sense. He's also got this amazing ability to figure out exactly where I'm at and then gently, but firmly, push me to really prepare for my school prelims. His guidance has been absolutely invaluable.

But it's not just his teaching that makes him stand out. Teacher Alex truly goes above and beyond. I was genuinely touched when he actually spent his own money to put together stationery packs for us. And these weren't just a few pencils! We got a full mathematical set, including a really high-quality compass, which has made all our geometry constructions so much easier. It just shows how much he genuinely cares about each of us and our success.

I feel incredibly lucky to have stumbled upon RG Channel Future School. It's more than just a tuition centre; it's a place with teachers who truly care. If you're feeling frustrated with your maths and not seeing the progress you want, please, do yourself a favour and check out RG Channel Future School. It really could be the turning point you're looking for!

I highly recommend RG Channel Future School, especially Mr. Alex Quek! Before joining Mr. Quek’s math tuition in the middle of Secondary 3, math was my weakest subject, and I consistently received failing grades despite trying two different tuition centres. My previous experiences were incredibly frustrating. Some tutors merely provided practice work without proper guidance, while others taught at a breakneck pace, leaving me feeling lost. The biggest hurdle was the inflexible and rigid teaching styles I encountered elsewhere. Discovering Mr. Alex Quek was a turning point in my life. From the very beginning, his approach was refreshing. Unlike other tutors, he is open to suggestions and truly listens to his students. His explanations are clear and concise, breaking down complex concepts into easily digestible steps, which makes answering even the most challenging questions seem simple. Mr. Quek isn’t just an excellent math tutor; he also offers relevant and wise advice that extends beyond the classroom. Thanks to Mr. Quek’s dedicated guidance and exceptional teaching methods, my math grades have improved dramatically. I now confidently tackled my school’s prelim math paper and achieved outstanding results in the GCE examinations! If you’re struggling with math or looking for a tutor who genuinely cares about your progress and adapts to your learning style, look no further than Mr. Alex Quek at RG Channel Future School. His personal connection and understanding made me feel valued and understood, and I'm sure it will do the same for you. It was the best decision I made for my academic journey!

RG Channel Future School is the place where Math becomes engaging and supportive. I highly recommend RG Channel Future School for Math tuition! From the very first lesson, it was evident that this was not your typical tuition class. The sessions are highly interactive and engaging, making even the most challenging concepts easy to understand and apply. The lessons are structured to keep students involved, with regular questions, discussions, and real-life examples that bring math to life. What truly stands out is the tutor's genuine care for the students. It's not just about covering the syllabus; it's about ensuring that every student understands the material and improves. The tutor takes the time to address individual weaknesses and consistently checks in on students' progress. If a student is falling behind or preparing for an important test, the tutor will personally invite them to the centre during off-hours to study, revise, or clarify any doubts. This level of dedication is scarce. There's a warm, supportive atmosphere in class where students feel safe to ask questions and are encouraged to think critically. The tutor is patient, approachable, and deeply invested in each student's growth—not only academically but also in terms of confidence and mindset. If you're looking for a Math tuition center that combines quality teaching with heartfelt support, RG Channel Future School is the perfect place. It's more than just a tuition class; it's a community where students thrive.

5. Master Principles of Accounts

5. Master Principles of Accounts

Overview of Business

Master Principles of Accounts is a specialist accounting tuition provider under Jump Grades Education and is one of the most directly relevant options for parents searching specifically for Secondary POA tuition. Founded in 2008, they focus on helping students understand accounting through logic rather than memorising templates. That angle is highly relevant for POA, because many teens can copy double-entry formats in class but still struggle once the question is phrased differently in exams. Master Principles of Accounts supports Secondary 3, Secondary 4, Secondary 5, N Level, O Level, and private candidates through physical classes, live online lessons, one-to-one tuition, and self-paced resources. Their team includes accounting graduates, experienced accounting professionals, and a former MOE Principles of Accounts teacher. For parents whose teen needs subject-specific help rather than broad secondary tuition, this specialist setup may feel more targeted and grounded.

Why Parents Choose Master Principles of Accounts?

Many parents choose Master Principles of Accounts because the whole setup is built around POA, not added in as just one more subject. That can matter when your teen’s issue is not effort, but a weak grasp of the logic behind entries, adjustments, and statements. Their LEAP framework focuses on reasoning, equations, application, and practice, which may help teens move beyond memorised formats. Small onsite classes in Serangoon are capped at eight students, so tutors can still track individual mistakes closely. The mix of physical, online, one-to-one, and resource support also gives families flexibility without losing the subject-specific focus.

Dear Master Principles of Accounts, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Teacher Joy, my son’s POA teacher, for her excellent guidance and experience. My son had never taken POA in secondary school, but he excelled in the subject in 7 to 8 months (where students typically require 2 years to master). Under Teacher Joy's patient and skillful coaching, he achieved a good credit of B4 in POA. She truly worked wonders—thank you Teacher Joy and thank you Caleb, for recommending such a dedicated teacher! 👏👏👏

My son has struggled with POA as he was just getting a C5 until I met Mr Caleb. Mr Caleb has made much efforts to my son and has given extra lessons for him to cope such as using “LEAP” and “HBUL” methods and how he wants my son to use logic instead. Now my son has gotten A2 for N levels and I am really proud of him. I would strongly recommend Master of POA to my friends! Thank you so much Mr.Caleb for his kind attention, patience and effort to my son. Really appreciate it.

The methods learned from this tution helped me a lot from failing to distinction in a year. It really helped me pull my grades up as I gradually learn to use logic and how I understand to tackle the questions. A few of the equations that help me is HBUL and HUAL as it is only 2 formula easy to remember and apply! Through this my work load to memorise became lesser. Caleb is truly a miracle worker!!😆

The tuition really has helped me tremendously! From a C5 during my Secondary 4 life to A1 for EOY, even I myself couldn't believe I could understand the EOY papers easily compared to the time I took POA! Teacher Caleb has helped me cover the whole POA Syllabus in less than a year such as using HBUL, ALICE and my favourite being HUAL. HUAL easily covered one chapter in an ease. Teacher Caleb would even give extra classes as I was struggling for POA. At first, I was thinking of getting a B3 but looking at the paper, I know it's definitely an A! If you ever think POA is hard, this class will definitely prove you wrong!

Subjects Offered

  • Principles of Accounts (Sec 3-5)
  • O Level Preparation (Sec 4)
  • N Level Preparation (Sec 4)

Teaching Methodology

  • The LEAP framework teaches POA through Logical Sequence, Equation, Application, and Practice, helping teens understand why entries work instead of memorising isolated steps.
  • Real-world analogies are used to make accounting concepts more relatable, which can be especially helpful for teens who find business terminology abstract.
  • Diagnostic assessments help identify whether the real issue is terminology, double entry, transaction recording, or financial statements.
  • Small-group classes combine syllabus teaching with exam technique, so students can improve both understanding and performance under test conditions.
  • Online classes include recordings, worksheets, materials, progress reports, and tutor feedback, which may help teens revise more consistently between lessons.

Location and Availability

Master Principles of Accounts runs onsite classes in Serangoon and Jurong East, and live online group tuition is also available. One-to-one lessons may be arranged online or at an agreed location, which gives families more flexibility around travel and schedules.

Price Range

For 2026, online Secondary 3 POA lessons are $75 per 90-minute session, while Secondary 4/5 online lessons are $80 per 90-minute session. Serangoon onsite lessons are $80 per session for Secondary 3 and $85 per session for Secondary 4.

6. Ace Your POA

6. Ace Your POA

Overview of Business

Ace Your POA is another subject-focused option for families who want Secondary POA tuition without the distraction of a broad multi-subject setup. Their programme is aimed specifically at Secondary 3 Normal Academic, Secondary 3 Express, Secondary 4 Normal Academic, Secondary 4 Express, Secondary 5 Normal Academic, and private candidates. That narrow focus may be helpful if your teen needs direct support in POA and you would rather place them with a provider that centres its teaching around the accounting syllabus. Ace Your POA emphasises helping students understand basic accounting concepts through real-life examples, which is particularly important in a subject where students often memorise entries but cannot explain the business reasoning behind them. The centre has also adapted to the revised POA syllabus and has shown flexibility with live virtual classrooms previously, suggesting some awareness of changing student needs and curriculum shifts.

Why Parents Choose Ace Your POA?

Parents who want a simpler, specialist route often look at Ace Your POA because the focus is very clear. If your teen only needs help with POA, there can be comfort in knowing lessons are not split across a wide range of unrelated subjects. Ace Your POA teaches accounting concepts through real-life examples, which may help students understand what a transaction actually means instead of only memorising debit and credit patterns. They also offer a free POA diagnostic consultation before enrolment. That can be useful for parents who are unsure whether their teen’s problem is weak basics, poor exam technique, or both.

Best POA tuition teacher, helped me to understand difficult topics which I would not have even understood without his help. Bringing my grades up during school exams as well as allowing me to attain a good grade for my O level POA exam. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Alex Quek for helping my son in his POA journey. From losing confidence in the subject to regaining motivation and striving to do well, the change in his mindset has been remarkable. Mr. Alex’s patient guidance and encouragement made all the difference.

A big thank you also to the center for the thoughtful arrangements during the final intensive program — especially providing meals for students who rushed over after their exams. Your care and support truly show how much you value your students’ well-being.

We’re deeply grateful for everything you’ve done. My son has truly given his best, and we couldn’t have asked for better guidance and support.

Updating my son O level result (14Jan26):, He got A2 for POA. From end of Sec 3 (12/100 marks, E9) to A2 in O level after joining this center. Getting a Good Progress award by edusave. Truly amazing! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I honestly couldn't be more grateful for Alex and my experience with Ace Your POA. Since starting my tuition here, my understanding of Principles of Accounts (POA) has improved by leaps and bounds. Alex has a remarkable ability to make even the most complex explanations clear and incredibly easy to grasp – that kind of clarity really only comes with years of experience. Just a quick look at his POA notes reveals the sheer amount of hard work and dedication he pours into helping his students excel.

Finding a good tutor is rare, but finding an expert tutor who is also patient and compassionate is even rarer. Alex is truly both. He's not only incredibly competent but also genuinely passionate about teaching. It's really reassuring to know he's the current POA Ten-Year Series author and boasts over 15 years of teaching experience. Plus, he's a chartered accountant in Singapore, which just adds to his credibility. He goes the extra mile by setting up simulated mock exams in a real exam setting, which gives you a fantastic taste of what the national examination will actually be like. He's also incredibly observant and thoughtful – for instance, he even took the initiative to pack stationery for his students!

What truly sets Alex apart, though, is his incredible support beyond just the lessons. When I needed a quiet place to study, he generously offered his centre, providing a really conducive environment to focus. And the absolute best part is being able to turn to him for advice on anything, whether it's studies, career choices, or even family-related problems. His wise wisdom has genuinely helped me find balance and resolve issues. Without a doubt, Ace Your POA is the trusted POA tuition solution you're looking for!

When it comes to mastering Principles of Accounts (POA), finding a tuition provider that truly delivers can be a challenge. However, Ace Your POA stands head and shoulders above the rest, largely thanks to its exceptional founder and lead educator, Mr. Alex Quek. Having personally experienced the transformative impact of his teaching, I can confidently say that Ace Your POA is the ultimate solution for any student aiming to excel.

The Expertise of Mr. Alex Quek
What sets Ace Your POA apart begins with Mr. Alex Quek himself. He isn't just a tutor; he's the current author of the highly regarded POA Ten-years series and a Chartered Accountant of Singapore. This dual expertise means he brings both academic authority and real-world practical insights into the classroom. His most remarkable gift, however, is his ability to demystify complex POA concepts, transforming them into simple, easy-to-understand terms that resonate with students and enable them to truly grasp the subject matter.

Unmatched Dedication and Student Care
Mr. Quek's commitment to his students goes far beyond the classroom. I was genuinely shocked and deeply impressed to receive a study pack personally curated and packed by him. This wasn't just any stationery; it included high-quality ballpoint pens, mechanical pencils, erasers, and lead. This thoughtful gesture speaks volumes about his dedication – he truly "means business" and invests a tremendous amount of care into ensuring his students have every tool they need to succeed.

A Dynamic and Focused Learning Environment
The learning environment at Ace Your POA is meticulously designed for optimal focus. During regular classes, students are required to surrender their phones, ensuring undivided attention on Mr. Quek's lessons. While he can be stern when necessary, especially with "jokers" who are late or forget materials, this strictness is balanced with an incredibly engaging teaching style. Alex has a knack for sharing hilarious real-life examples that keep the class awake, entertained, and, crucially, help solidify complex concepts through relatable scenarios.

Superior Teaching Materials
Beyond his engaging delivery, Mr. Quek's teaching notes are truly wonderful. From the moment you receive them, you know you are in exceptionally good hands. They are super detailed, meticulously organised, and follow a clear, logical structure. This level of precision and clarity in the notes is a game-changer, even for students who join as late as two months before the GCE examination. His structured approach ensures that even those with limited time can catch up effectively and build a strong foundation.

The Definitive Choice for POA Tuition
If you are on the hunt for a trusted and proven solution for POA tuition, Ace Your POA should undoubtedly be your first and only choice. Based on my experience, I can confidently advise against wasting time on online tuition that often falls short, or private tutors who spend half the session chatting rather than teaching effectively. Ace Your POA is a centre that has been tried and tested over the years, consistently delivering outstanding results. It's not just a tuition centre; it's an investment in your academic success.

Subjects Offered

  • Principles of Accounts (Sec 3-5)

  • Lessons teach basic accounting concepts through real-life examples, which may help teens connect business transactions to the entries they are expected to record.

7. InstanTuition EduHub

7. InstanTuition EduHub

Overview of Business

InstanTuition EduHub supports Primary 5 to Primary 6 and secondary students, with a stronger presence in the east. For this article, the important point is that they offer Principles of Accounts for Secondary 3 and Secondary 4 students taking O Level or N Level pathways. InstanTuition EduHub positions itself around small classes, individual coaching, and tailored materials, which may be helpful for parents whose teen needs more than generic worksheet practice. POA is a subject where students can appear fine until school papers require application, explanation, and careful presentation under time pressure. Their approach of adapting to different learning styles may therefore suit teens who are not weak across the board, but who keep making repeated accounting errors because no one has slowed down enough to spot the underlying gap. A past example of a student improving from failing POA to a strong N Level result also reflects their targeted support style.

Why Parents Choose InstanTuition EduHub?

Parents may choose InstanTuition EduHub for Secondary POA tuition when they want a more personal learning environment without going fully one-to-one. POA classes are capped at five students, which gives tutors room to notice careless habits, weak conceptual links, and hesitation that larger classes may miss. That matters because teens often nod along in accounting lessons even when they are lost. InstanTuition EduHub also tailors materials based on school results and current performance, so support can feel more targeted to what your teen actually needs. Their patient, confidence-building style may suit students who have become discouraged after repeated failures.

Late to post this review. Purposely put a reminder to post. 😅
My son got his O-level results in Jan 2025. Got grade '1' for POA.

Sent him to InstanTuition for POA class since Sept 2023. This is not a 'branded' tuition centre. But I am very pleased with Ms Kacey and her team's dedication to teach the students. I think their lessons and class structure were effective for my son, Edryan. Of course, the student himself had to put in effort and willing to learn!

Appreciate that classes were in small groups and fees were reasonable. Ms Kacey was understanding if there was a need to reschedule lessons.
Ms Kacey & team, pls continue to keep up the good work and sincere dedication in teaching the students and not charging crazy, exorbitant fees. Thank you.

They really made learning enjoyable and were so patient in explaining even the most challenging topics. I highly recommend Instantuition to anyone who is struggling with their studies or just wants a more supportive and engaging way to learn. It’s such a great place to study, and I’m so glad I chose it!

8. Edulight Learning Hub

8. Edulight Learning Hub

Overview of Business

Edulight Learning Hub is one of the more focused names on this list for parents seeking Secondary POA tuition specifically. Their academic support is centred on N Level and O Level learners, with particular attention given to Principles of Accounts. This narrower focus may appeal to parents who do not want a broad secondary tuition provider, but a setup where POA is clearly a main subject rather than a side offering. Edulight Learning Hub teaches with an emphasis on conceptual understanding over rote memorisation, and the tutor’s professional background in public finance and audit adds a practical dimension that can be valuable in accounting. For teens who keep memorising formats yet struggle when questions are phrased in unfamiliar ways, that approach may feel more useful than simply doing more papers. Group classes are available physically and online, which gives some flexibility while still keeping a structured programme.

Why Parents Choose Edulight Learning Hub?

Parents may be drawn to Edulight Learning Hub because the teaching philosophy matches a common POA problem very closely. Many teens can repeat formats but cannot handle application questions once the wording changes. Edulight Learning Hub explicitly focuses on understanding concepts rather than memorising work, which may help break that cycle. The tutor also brings public finance and audit experience, so lessons can connect accounting ideas to real situations instead of staying abstract. Small physical classes capped at six students may suit teens who need more room to ask questions, while makeup options and video lessons help reduce disruption when schedules get messy.

Glad I found amazing Tutor Felix. My cousin is good at math but he flung his POA. Parents worried, Sec 4 1st semester he failed miserably..came to my attention when his parents consulted me for help. I googled and reached out to 3 outlets and I instantly liked Felix with his decisive teaching methods, improvement structures and strategies. His style begins with individual focus on one to one teaching to engage on student & tutor understanding and listening then next is collaborative group work studies and camaraderie. I believe in that method too and he did achieve improvements on both understanding and listening. My cousin gradually improved and as a result he passed 60%…on mid sememster.. amazing! Felix also provided him extra mile tutoring outside tuitions if there were any confusions or questions he would reply promptly to assist thru WhatsApp any time. That personalised techniques help my cousin to gain his confidence back to raise good and important question and honesty well appreciated.
His performance consistently excelled, every quarter period and finally the ‘N-level’ he accomplished victory Grade 3. We are so proud of him and his determination to succeed POA. Felix is one of the kind and he’s Awesome !
Thank you so much Mr Felix ❤️

9. Good School Learning Hub

9. Good School Learning Hub

Overview of Business

Good School Learning Hub is founded by ex-MOE specialists and supports students from Primary 4 up to Junior College. For parents researching Secondary POA tuition, the key point is that they offer POA for Sec 3 and Sec 4 within a broader secondary setup that also includes English, E Math, A Math, Chemistry, Physics, and Lower Secondary subjects. This may be useful for teens whose POA struggles sit alongside wider academic issues, especially if they need support in both a quantitative subject and a language-heavy one. Good School Learning Hub places strong emphasis on strategy, confidence, and structured teaching methods across subjects. While there is no separate POA-only pedagogy described in detail, their wider approach suggests a teaching culture that values logic, interaction, and clarity. For some families, that broader environment may feel more practical than moving a teen between multiple specialist providers.

Why Parents Choose Good School Learning Hub?

Parents may consider Good School Learning Hub when they want a secondary tuition provider with experienced ex-MOE leadership and a structured, strategy-driven teaching style. That can be helpful if your teen’s POA issue is not only content weakness, but also messy revision habits, poor confidence, or exam anxiety across several subjects. Their testimonials point to strong grade improvements in other secondary subjects, which may reassure parents looking for a serious academic environment. Good School Learning Hub also offers out-of-class query support in some areas and starts families with a free diagnostic consultation, which can help clarify whether the fit feels right before a longer commitment.

I am writing this review to express my sincere appreciation towards Good School. I am an express student who took the A math O Level examinations in 2025. At the start of my secondary 3 A math journey, i found myself struggling to keep up with the content taught at school as A math is a very complicated subject and it did not help that my school teacher was rushing through the topics. Hence, I made a choice and decided to seek help here at Good School. My tutor, Mr Zhang helped me thoroughly with my studies. From patiently explaining the complex topics to answering all my burning questions , i knew i could always count on Mr Zhang to help me understand them. Aside from the tutors, Good School also has many facilities such as the study corner to help provide a conducive study space even before class starts. If I were to retake O Levels again, i would no doubt choose Good School!

Math had always been my strong suit since lower secondary, however taking A math in Sec 3 led to the downfall of my math grades, as I could not comprehend the topics being taught to me in school. Being in a top class, I've always felt inferior to my classmates who were consistently scoring A1s effortlessly, while I was still stuck at F9 even with my utmost effort. As a result, I applied to The Good School, hoping to turn the tides.

The first few lessons with Mr Zhang was not the smoothest. After all, this was my first time in a tuition centre, so I didn't really understand what was to be expected from me. However, Mr Zhang had been nothing but kind and patient to me. He has taught Amath in a way that was simple to understand, yet clear and concise, even suggesting strategys to tackle specific questions along the way. Moreover, Mr Zhang did share with the class his own academic struggles, having been in the same position as me when he was in Sec3. This made me feel inspired, and determined that I could finally pass Amath.

To my surprise, I had gotten from F9 to A2 for Sec3 EOY. I could not help but shed tears of joy that day, and I am so thankful to Mr Zhang for helping me to accomplish what I taught was impossible in the past. Please consider joining The Good School!

I am writing this letter to express my sincere appreciation and satisfaction with Good Sch Learning Hub for the remarkable impact they have had on my academic performance, particularly in English comprehension. Before joining Good Sch, I consistently struggled with comprehension and was scoring a B4 in exams despite putting in regular effort. However, after attending lessons at the centre, my results improved significantly, and I eventually achieved an A1. This transformation is a testament to the effectiveness of their teaching methods and the dedication. One of the key strengths of Good Sch Learning Hub lies in their structured and targeted approach to comprehension. Thanks to the dedicated support and effective comprehension strategies at Good Sch Learning Hub.

When I was in primary school, Mathematics was always my favourite subject. I used to score full marks in almost every test. However, once I entered Secondary 2, things became more complicated, and I began to fall behind. For my final-year exams, I even failed, almost having to repeat the year. That was when I found Mr Zhang and Good School Learning Hub.

From the very first lesson, Mr Zhang planned out the steps I needed to take. He made sure I rebuilt my basics and developed a strong foundation before moving into Secondary 3. In school, I often struggled to understand the teachers’ explanations and could not grasp the different methods taught. But Mr Zhang explained everything in his own clear and magical way, which made learning so much easier.

What made his lessons special was the way he taught — always creating a friendly and light atmosphere. He often used real-life examples or casual chats to make things interesting, and I can honestly say I always looked forward to his classes. As someone who usually hates studying and finds it hard to sit still, his lessons were the one exception — they never felt like a chore.

Joining Good School and being taught by Mr Zhang was truly one of the best decisions I’ve made. With his guidance, I went from failing to consistently scoring As. My parents and I are both deeply grateful for the effort he put into teaching me. More than just a tutor, he has been someone I could talk to and rely on for advice, and he continues to keep in touch even now that I am studying in the UK.

I genuinely appreciate everything Mr Zhang has done for me. His lessons have not only helped me academically but have also made learning enjoyable again. I could not have asked for a better teacher and mentor.

10. One Tuition Place

10. One Tuition Place

Overview of Business

One Tuition Place, established in 2011, is a tuition provider known mainly for A Level and O Level subjects, while also offering support at Primary and secondary levels. For this article, the key point is that they teach Sec 3, Sec 4, and O Level Principles of Accounting alongside English, Secondary Math, Lower Secondary Science, and other O Level subjects. This may suit parents who prefer a more traditional academic tuition environment rather than a niche POA-only setup. One Tuition Place highlights affordability, strong syllabus familiarity, and free learning support for students who need additional help. That extra support can matter in POA because teens often need more than formal lesson time to correct weak foundations, especially when errors in one chapter keep reappearing in later topics. Their emphasis on O Level and exam requirements may also appeal to families looking for practical, exam-oriented secondary tuition.

Why Parents Choose One Tuition Place?

Parents may like One Tuition Place if they want a more affordable Secondary POA tuition option with broad O Level experience. Their tutors are described as familiar with Cambridge A Level and O Level syllabuses and exam requirements, which may reassure families whose teen needs clearer direction on what examiners are looking for. Free learning support is another useful feature, especially for students who need extra clarification outside normal lesson time. For some parents, that combination of affordability, exam awareness, and added support feels more sustainable than a highly specialised but costlier route, particularly if POA is only one of several weaker secondary subjects.

Mrs. Ong has been teaching my daughter from Primary 2 until now. At the beginning, my daughter struggled with basic addition and subtraction, and I was very worried for her. I enrolled her in two Maths tuition classes, but after a few months, she requested to stop the other class because she felt she could manage with only Mrs. Ong’s lessons.

My daughter truly loves learning from Mrs. Ong. She always says that Mrs. Ong is very helpful, and her teaching methods make it easier to understand mathematical concepts and logical thinking. This year, my daughter participated in the International Math Olympiad and achieved the Elitist award without doing any special preparation—she relied purely on the knowledge gained from her lessons.

For her Primary 3 weighted assessment and year-end exam, she scored the highest in Math's with a mark of 91 compared to her other subjects. I highly recommend Mrs. Ong — she has a unique teaching approach and is extremely patient.

How to Choose the Best Secondary POA Tuition for Your Child?

The best Secondary POA tuition option is usually the one that matches how your teen learns, where their accounting gaps really are, and what kind of support your family can realistically sustain week after week. Before deciding, it helps to compare a few key points carefully.

  • Choose a teaching style that fits your teen, whether they need subject-specialist, logic-based explanations, a small-group class, or one-to-one support at home.
  • Look closely at the actual POA needs, such as weak double-entry foundations, poor exam technique, careless presentation, or low confidence with application questions.
  • Check tutor experience and subject depth, especially if your teen is already in Upper Secondary and preparing for N Level or O Level papers.
  • Consider class size, because some teens improve in a focused group while others only start asking questions in a private setting.
  • Factor in location, travel time, reviews, and budget so the tuition arrangement is realistic to maintain over the longer term.

A well-matched secondary POA tuition centre will not look the same for every family. What matters most is finding support that helps your teen understand accounting more clearly, practice with more confidence, and feel less lost each time a POA paper comes home.
