I am an adult student. The teachers here tailored my lesson to suit what I want to achieve. Throughout my journey here in FAMA, I was met with very nice and professional people. Thank you FAMA and teachers here for helping me progress in my music journey. Ps: the last room in the school is damn nice with a wide sea view.

Upgrading from a 3/4 violin to a full-size 4/4 instrument for my son felt like a major milestone in our musical journey, and the experience with Stradivari Strings made it both meaningful and enjoyable.
What stood out most was how thoughtfully we were guided through the entire process. Instead of immediately focusing on brands, pricing, or specifications, Stradivari Strings first took the time to understand the musician’s aspirations, playing style, preferences, and budget. This made the experience feel very personal and tailored rather than transactional.
My son was encouraged to try several violins across different tonal qualities and styles. After each trial, Stradivari Strings asked for honest feedback and helped rank the instruments based on tone, responsiveness, comfort, and overall feel. We appreciated that the emphasis was placed on how the violin connected with the player rather than on labels or price tags. Only after narrowing down the final selection did we discuss the violin’s craftsmanship, quality, make, and pricing. This approach gave us confidence that the choice was genuinely based on suitability and musical compatibility.
Another highlight was how Stradivari Strings invited my son to perform a few musical pieces during the session. Stradivari Strings provided constructive feedback on playing technique, tone production, and musical development, along with a helpful roadmap to close in the skill gaps and on how my son could continue progressing toward his goals.
Overall, the experience at Stradivari Strings was professional, encouraging, and deeply musician-centered. We left not only with a wonderful violin upgrade, but also with greater clarity and confidence about the next stage of my son’s musical journey.
A special thank you to Rita Yeo for her warm accommodation and the flexibility she extended throughout our violin upgrade journey. Her support and understanding made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable.
I would gladly recommend Stradivari Strings to my friends and colleagues who are looking for trusted advice on purchasing a violin or exploring a musical journey, whether as a passionate learner or someone considering a career in music.
In year 2023, we met Rita at Stradivari Strings to buy a handcrafted violin for my daughter. In April 2026, we arranged an appointment with Rita, this time to select a hand crafted violin and violin bow for my daughter.
During both meetings, we had special experience at this shop when we bought new violins.
The kind shop owner, Rita, first showed my daughter three different violins and let her try them.
When choosing, Rita respected my daughter’s impressions and offered us plenty of guidance and advice — not only on how to care for a violin, but also on how to improve her playing.
As a non‑professional parent, I was truly grateful for her kindness and expertise. Her professional advice and warm attitude made the experience truly memorable for both of us. Needless to say, my daughter loves her new violin and takes great care of it!
My daughter starting intermediate violin classes with Mr Yeo. He is an excellent violin teacher. In addition to very strong musical background, he understands very well the needs of our 15 year old daughter and has managed to adapt to her so that she stays motivated with a willingness and pleasure to play. During weekly violin lessons, he knows how to encourage the students and is always very positive and at the same time provides very good advice in terms of technical skills. Laure has made much progress under his professorship. We strongly recommend him !
Our 12 year old child needed to upgrade his violin in size from a 3/4 to full, and quality from a beginner to something better. We casually tried out some violins at several violin shops and felt most comfortable at Stradivari Strings. Rita is super knowledgeable of the instruments--both musically and technically--and guided my child through his violin and violin bow selection process. She listened to what my musician's preferences are and expectations of his instrument and presented him with the different violins for him to try. She encouraged my violinist to try as many violins to find the one that he enjoys playing most and the sound he likes best. After selecting the violin, Rita curated some bows to pair with the violin. We highly recommend Stradivari Strings for your next violin, or cello...We saw cellos there at the shop too. It was such an amazing experience with Rita.
We had a wonderful experience at Stradivari Strings selecting violin and violin bow for my nephew, thanks to Rita’s exceptional service.
She patiently took the time to explain the differences between each violin and bow, helping my nephew try them one by one until he found the perfect fit. Her knowledge and kindness made the process smooth and enjoyable.
We also had a 3/4 violin string and bridge fixed during our visit. Rita clearly explained the condition of our bridge and the different types of strings available, which helped us make an informed choice. We truly appreciate her professionalism, patience, and genuine care. Highly recommended!

I just attended a short course in "Making a Complete Picture Book with Procreate" with NAFA this year (2026).
It has been a great privilege to learn from a very experienced and professional Procreate Storybook Illustrator, Mr. Josef Lee. In this short span of 7 weeks (one lesson per week for 3 hours), he generously shared with us his storybook creation processes - his idea thumbnail sketches, design developments and thought process. It was truly an amazing experience as we are learning from a very committed storybook designer whose storybooks creations are actually published and can be found in many bookstores, national libraries and even a hotel in Singapore!
Mr. Josef Lee helped us to understand the rigour, the detailed planning, the workflow and the putting together of all the research and ideas to come up with a really enticing read for children and even adults. He was also very helpful in encouraging us to ask questions and answering them all. He respects our privacy and shy disposition as well and gave us one-to-one constructive feedback in our weekly beginner story-creating attempts.
In an overview, we had learnt how to come up with: - a good storyline and story structure - storyboarding (in Procreate) - characters design methods (in Procreate) - picture composition and layout (in Procreate) - colour palettes (in Procreate) - digital drawing, colouring and animating (in Procreate) - exporting our digital artworks into an eBook, and more...
He has also shared with us successful examples by other internationally renowned storybook creators. The takeaways that he shared from his journeys of constant storybook creations and readings to children are very meaningful... such as - The lesser you draw, the harder your text will have to work to provide the information for your story.
The class size is intentionally kept small (max of 10) to ensure the high quality of students' learning. Thank you, for this decision is greatly appreciated and valued! I have also made many nice friends and laughed in class. Highly recommending this course 😊
Just ended the Guitar (Strum and Pluck) short course and loved it! The trainer, Guoliang is very patient and knowledgeable, making every lesson worth it. My only wish is that the course had more than 6 sessions because I enjoyed it so much!
I also want to mention Jing Xuan for her excellent service. She was so helpful and answered all my enquiries promptly. Great course and even better staff!
Reignited a long-forgotten passion through an 8-week oil painting course with NAFA CLE. It was a genuinely rewarding experience—guided by a wonderful trainer, Nhawfal Juma’at and shared with an enthusiastic group of classmates from all walks of life, all taking time to reconnect with their creative side. Thank you for creating such a warm and inspiring learning environment.
Completed Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Watercolour courses and it has been a truly rewarding and fulfilling learning journey. I only wish each level had more sessions because the time always felt too short!
One of the highlights was meeting people who share the same interest in watercolour. My classmates were incredibly supportive — we cheered each other on, shared experiences and often continued conversations over lunch or coffee after lessons. It made the learning experience even more enjoyable and motivating.
Our instructor Edwin Ho, is patient and supportive of our learning. He encourages us, while giving us challenges that push us out of our comfort zones, which really helped us grow and improve.
With the National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy and the use of SkillsFuture credits, the courses are even more affordable for those aged 50 and above, which is a wonderful initiative.
Overall, a wonderful experience. We definitely need more watercolour sessions!
This review is written from the perspective of a prospective applicant, who was rejected, appealed and rejected again (Diploma in Theatre)
I don't feel respected as a prospective applicant given how NAFA charges $75 for an application which I disagree with, and I went through the whole process only to get rejected.
To be upfront, I was rejected from LASALLE College of The Arts twice and a lecturer from LASALLE referred me to join NAFA citing my monologging skills were better suited to NAFA's style of teaching.
But after all that, I got rejected and so did my appeal, and the email I got felt very impersonal like I'm just another person they said no to, with very little warmth.
What really gets to me is that I'm now out $75. I'm merely an ITE graduate with an aspiration to act but I don't come from a wealthy background, I have meagre savings and I and scrimp and save every dollar I get get ahold of and used $75 of it for a potential application. All that, all the rehearsing I did just to be rejected with a typical "preset reply" in the email I got.
And I also wanted to note, the Lecturer who replied to me, Elynn said nothing about appeals. It was only a NAFA admin member who advised me to appeal which was how I came to know I could appeal. It's as if they don't want rejects to appeal thinking "We rejected you, so accept it"
Either way I got rejected, and so was my appeal. I would be upset about the rejection but that's life in the industry I so wanted to join, rejection happens.
But again what gets to me is how I'm out $75 and stuck with a "Sorry, you're rejected" email. If the cost of application was more reasonable, I would not be writing this review, but it's $75 and I was rejected anyway. I would not mind as much if it cost around $20-30 to apply, but it's $75 which is no small amount for someone who just graduated from a Higher NITEC course and is struggling to find a job.
So after all this, I don't feel respected. The point is that applications should not cost $75 knowing you can be rejected.
Being told to pay $75 and getting rejected just feels like being kicked when you're down which is how I felt.
I don't have many positive things to say about LASALLE either as I also did not feel respected there either, but at the very least, they offer 3 free applications whereas NAFA does not.
So to summarize, I'm more affected by being out $75 AND getting rejected. NAFA should pick one, not both. Either let me pay $75 and promise me a slot or don't charge as high and reject me. You can't have your cake and eat it too is what I have to say.
There is no such thing as an audition where you have to pay for a chance to learn, not a guaranteed slot, except here at NAFA.

I have been learning guitar from Mr Andy for around a year. He is extremely kind, friendly, patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable. He gave very useful pointers and direction that helped to improve my guitar skills. The receptionist is also very nice! Unfortunately I had to stop due to financial issues, but would strongly recommend anyone who wants to learn guitar to learn from Mr Andy.
I had an amazing experience at Da Capo Music Academy! Special thanks to Ms. Kai Xin, who taught me the saxophone with so much patience and expertise. Her passion for music and ability to make lessons both fun and challenging truly helped me cultivate a intertest in music. If you're looking to learn an instrument, especially the saxophone, I highly recommend Ms. Kai Xin!
My children love their lessons with Teacher Sarah and Teacher Mark and look forward to class weekly! The teachers were able to engage them w their interests - teaching songs they like or using games to teach rhythm. Happy to have a found a place that has sparked their interest in music!

M Music Studio Sg I have started my instrument journey at M Music Studio Sg for almost 1 year.
Me, as a person who has no music background at all, after a few months learning, and now I'm able to play a simple song on a recital. Is it quite a surprised for me. 😄😄
The teachers are all passionate in teaching and willing to share all the details or technique to you, just to want you to keep improving a little by little in every single class.
Of course, you might think that learning music is boring unless you really like it. But I would say, learning music could be fun and enjoyable. Because the teachers at here are all have the experience to make it fun and use a simple way to make it easier to understand. This really help me to get understand faster and easier.
Furthermore, they are also ok a good observer and good listener to me. Example like when some of the part which is I can't do it well after few try, they will tell me why I can't do well, after that they will show me the correct way and then practice with me together step by step until you can do it correctly.
I really appreciate that's the way their teaching and passionate on me and I will keep learning just wanted to make it better and better on my music instruments.

How to Choose the Best Flute Lesson for Your Child
Starting age and readiness: Check whether the programme suits your child’s age and attention span. Younger children often do better with shorter lessons and close guidance on posture, breathing and handling the instrument.
Beginner-friendly teaching: Look for lessons that introduce basics step-by-step, rather than rushing into difficult repertoire.
Teacher background: Confirm whether the teacher has formal training, teaching experience or performance credentials, since tone production and embouchure need careful guidance.
Lesson format: Decide if your child will thrive in one-to-one lessons, pair lessons or small groups. Some children need individual attention, while others benefit from learning with peers.
Curriculum structure: Ask how lessons are organised over time. Some families prefer a clear level system with exam pathways, others want a flexible leisure route that still supports steady progress.
Technique and musical foundation: Choose a programme that covers breathing, posture, fingering, tone, rhythm, sight-reading and listening skills, not just songs.
Exam goals versus enjoyment: Match the centre’s approach to your child’s motivation, whether that is graded exams or simply enjoyment and confidence building.
Performance opportunities: If your child enjoys performing, pick a centre that offers recitals, ensembles or masterclasses.
Learning pace: Find a programme that can adapt to your child’s progress rather than insisting on uniform advancement.
Instrument support: Practical help like trial instruments, rental options or guidance on selection can be very useful before committing.
Environment and comfort: The learning space should feel calm and welcoming, especially for shy or younger children.
Progress tracking: Look for clear ways to monitor improvement, such as teacher feedback, levels, assessments or performance milestones.
Schedule and location: Choose times and a location your family can maintain consistently to support steady progress.
Online versus in-person options: Consider whether online lessons will suit your child’s learning needs, or whether in-person tuition is preferable for posture and tone correction.
Price clarity: Ask for transparent fees, registration charges and deposits so you can compare options fairly.
Long-term fit: The best class will help your child feel supported, appropriately challenged and excited to keep learning over time.

I appreciate her dedication and prompt follow-up throughout. Highly recommend Megan to parents looking for reliable support in finding the right tutor for their child.
I’m very grateful to MindFlex, especially Alyssa and her team, for their patience and dedication in helping to source a suitable tutor for my son.
This is the 2nd time I look for them to source a tutor. This time round I had more specific requirements, including the tutor’s age group, gender and most importantly, someone who is patient and able to communicate well with students who are weaker in Chinese. Alyssa and the team were understanding, responsive and professional throughout the entire process.
They took the effort to carefully match a tutor who suits my son’s learning needs and personality. I truly appreciate their commitment and excellent service. Highly recommended for parents looking for reliable and attentive tuition support!
I’m very happy with the tutoring service arranged by Alyssa and her team. Both tutors (Xinbo and Ban Cheng) have been great and my child really enjoys the lessons with them. We can already see some improvement, which is very encouraging.
Thank you for being so responsive and helpful throughout the arrangement process. Really appreciate the support and would definitely recommend them to other parents looking for reliable tutors.
