Pastor Jeffrey and sister Grace are really God-sent; to bring comfort and love to my mum during this season of her life.
My mum is 89 years old this year; and not a regular church attendee...due to her health and also challenges in getting to places in a wheelchair.
Yet when I approached Ps Jeffrey and Church of Singapore with concerns for my mum ... Ps Jeffrey responded immediately with a home visit with other staff members.
My mum was thrilled to have fellow Christians visit her; singing worship hokkien song 'jin jia ho, wo eh ya saw, jin jia ho...'! The visit made her so so happy.
Mum is warded in SGH since Wed, waiting for a minor op, while I typed this. Guess what? Ps Jeffrey visited her the very night she was 1st awarded with another brother; and today before her surgery, Ps Jeffrey came with sister Grace to pray and sing with her. This visit brought so much joy and comfort to her. I am so so comforted to see video of my mum praising God and full of joy, before her surgery!

Subsequently, I watched Pastor Paul's online sermon about Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and was deeply moved. I decided to continue visiting the church with my baby girl and my young son. Whilst my son goes for the kid's service at the attic with loving and welcoming teachers, my baby girl and I get our air-conditioned, comfortable and quiet space in the rooms just at the back of the auditorium, with the rest of the worshippers and pastor, just in front, separated from us by a glass screen. I was able to be part of the service comfortably. Later on, when my daughter became more active, there was another air-conditioned room at the highest level for my girl to crawl around on padded floors and play with toys, while I followed the sermon broadcasted on the screen.
My son continues to grow and benefit from the kids bible classes, kids bible camps, youth bible classes and youth bible camps organized by the church as he grew up.
My daughter benefited from the wonderful student care service, Shinekidz, which was available when she was in Primary 1 and 2. She now goes for the kids bible classes.
9 years on, I finally decided to join a care group and am thankful to the connections team for putting me in a group of ladies that inspire, encourage, and pray for one another. I was also introduced formally to the church, and its focus as a gospel-centered church.
I think that I benefit a lot from Pastor Jason's sermons. Pastor Jason encourages us to continually seek the bible, understand it, and apply it in our lives. He explains the Bible verses to us clearly, in layman's terms - in English, Chinese, and Hokkien; and uses pictures and videos to help us understand and remember his messages. His messages are serious, but light-hearted. Best of all, his sermons are available online, if you need to refresh your memory on what has been said.
On one fine afternoon on February 06 2023, Holy Spirit prompted me to email Gospel Light, indicated that I and another two friends would like to meet Ps. Jason without mention much of our background and objective of meeting him. We wouldn’t sure if it was real that Gospel Light will really entertain my email request. Two days later, February 10 2023, I received the email reply from Gospel Light Senior Admin staff Benita, saying Ps Jason was more than happy to meet us and his next availability date will be on March 26 2023. We had accepted the date, while waiting for the date, I started to arrange the necessary, renew my passport, arrange bus ticket, lodging and so on. We made it and met Ps, Jason on March 26, 2023, warm welcome by Gospel Light people and had a fruitful chat over lunch together in Gospel Light cafeteria. We tasted the sweet love from Jesus Christ in Gospel Light.
On May 21 2023, as usual I login to the Youtube listen to the Sunday sermon, topic about “Assurance of Salvation if Christ in us”, after the sermon, I was wondering how do I self-check myself and the sermon mentioned if we are not sure, we can email Gospel Light, which I did. I received instant reply from Benita again and then I got on to one-to-one discipleship programme with Sister Sue, we studied book of Roman together, very helpful for me. She is a very good bible teacher, very kind, very gentle, very knowledgeable, and very patience to answer all my questions. I feel the love from Jesus Christ through her, feeling grateful, even now, she is still attending to my question when I have any, thank you Sue.
I have introduced Gospel Light to my two Singapore cousins. Hope one day they will come to know Jesus Christ through Gospel Light for life change.

We paid $1.55 carpark although it was hourly parking and not per entry. The gantry was faulty because it couldn’t load our parking history. But the Chinese speaking lady through the intercom was UNHELPFUL. She kept asking us to try again, we repositioned the car 4 times, but the system refreshed and kept showing the same. We were stuck inside the carpark, on a slopping exit too. In the end, we just paid it because it was a waste of time and energy.
I got the receipt it says, we can came in at 9:22, (duration 30 mins) but we came in barely 5 mins. We literally paid for someone else’s parking.
Previously being here for many many years though I been in and out many times. The church is very firm about being committed/commitment (which is not wrong) either but you can be very worn out.
In 2024, when I make a decision to return back for good. The leaders and pastor (not the senior Pastor) were not very welcoming. I was informed that they will need to access me before putting me in a cell grp (is that a normal thing)?
The pastor told me that I need to build friendship with the community (yet told me don't go cellgrp?) LOL how to build friendship just by seeing people on Sunday only?
It's was during one sunday when the pastor whom send the discipler to inform me after sunday service that its is best for me to find another church and wish me all the best! No wonder that day the whole grp was very unfriendly to me because all of them are aware that I will be asked to leave. (They would know in advance since they are in the leadership role)
So really thank God that I found another church that is so welcoming to me. Despite knowing that I was being asked to leave by a church, they did not judge me. Rather the leaders were even questioning how can a church asked a member to leave? They assured me that no matter what i will not be asked to leave. So It's turns out to be the best thing ever.
I also would like to mention that there is another person who wrote a very long review here. He is not wrong of what he say because every single sentence that he wrote out, it's did happen to me as well.
So all in all, I would like to say thank you very much for chasing me out. God knows best! Even when you guys do not accept me, God gave me a spiritual family that accepts me, who guide me in accordance of the word of God. Everyone single guidance and things being preach to me, I saw them (leaders and pastor) practising it as well.
Oh ya! It's also pretty puzzling of why would the eldest son of the senior Pastor attending another church? It's not just 1 time or 2 time, it's a few times. The son bring his family to attend another church to worship God. 🙌. Very shocked to see that too
