Free Request For Tuition

Starting IP Year 1 can reveal gaps that were less noticeable in Primary school, especially as Math lessons move quickly into deeper reasoning and unfamiliar applications. This guide to the Top 10 IP Year 1 Math Tuition Centres in Singapore helps parents compare programmes by curriculum fit, teaching approach, class size, tutor experience, accessibility and fees. Some children need patient reinforcement of the fundamentals, while others benefit from harder questions that develop flexible, multi-step problem-solving. As IP schools may differ in topic order, pace and assessment demands, a suitable class should connect closely with what your child is currently learning. The options below include school-aligned groups, small online classes, individual tuition and broader IP programmes, helping families consider both academic support and a weekly routine their child can sustain.

Key Takeaways

  • IP Year 1 Math tuition should strengthen conceptual reasoning and unfamiliar problem-solving, rather than simply repeat procedures your child already practises.
  • School-specific pacing may matter because IP schools can arrange topics differently, although individual tuition offers flexibility when learning gaps span several chapters.
  • Compare class size, feedback, lesson access and travel demands alongside fees, since the most demanding programme may not suit every child.

MindFlex – Your Best Platform for IP Year 1 Math Home Tuition

Overview of Business

MindFlex Tuition Agency connects Singapore families with private tutors who can provide IP Year 1 Math support at home or online. Instead of placing every child in one standard classroom programme, they match students according to subject needs, school syllabus, learning pace, timetable, location, budget and preferred tutor profile. This arrangement may suit children whose difficulties span foundational concepts, multi-step working and unfamiliar applications rather than one isolated topic. A tutor can follow current school materials, upcoming assessments and recurring mistakes, while adjusting explanations whenever the child needs more time. With more than 50,000 active tutors in its network, MindFlex gives parents room to compare different experience levels and teaching styles. The matching service carries no agency fee, allowing families to consider their recommendations before committing to lessons.

Why Parents Choose MindFlex?

Parents may choose MindFlex when fixed IP Year 1 tuition classes do not suit their child’s school pace, schedule or preferred way of learning. One-to-one attention can help a quieter child ask questions freely and revisit weak prerequisites before attempting harder IP Math problems. Tutor recommendations may also be filtered by budget, qualifications and availability, making the independent search less time-consuming. Coordinators are available seven days a week, while home and online arrangements may ease the pressure of balancing school, CCA commitments and rest.

He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated—qualities that have made a huge difference in my son’s learning journey. My Primary 4 son has shown remarkable improvement in his Chinese since starting lessons, and we are so grateful for the progress.

Beyond the academic results, Mr. Tan’s teaching style has built my son’s confidence and interest in the subject. He is punctual, pleasant disposition and understands what a child needs. The entire experience with Mind Flex has also been very pleasant, professional, and supportive.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a tutor who genuinely cares and delivers excellent results

Friendly, pleasant, swift, helpful and most importantly not pushy

1. Future Academy

Overview of the Business

Future Academy is a small-group tuition centre founded in 2015 by former top-school educators Ms Yvonne Chen and Mr Jason Lau. Its IP Year 1 Math tuition follows school pacing while using organised notes, proof-based reasoning, challenging application questions and structured answering strategies. Ms Chen previously taught Math and Physics at Raffles Girls’ School, while Mr Lau was formerly a Math HOD at Hwa Chong Institution. Their experience may support children who are adjusting to faster IP pacing, deeper concepts and questions requiring reasoning rather than routine formula application. With classes capped at a 1:6 teacher-to-student ratio, tutors have more opportunities to spot misconceptions and give immediate, specific feedback. On-site, hybrid and live online options are also available, which may make lessons easier to manage alongside schoolwork, CCAs and travelling time.

Why Parents Choose Future Academy

Parents may consider Future Academy if their child manages routine calculations but finds it harder to explain their reasoning or attempt unfamiliar IP Math questions independently. The small-group setting may suit quieter children who benefit from closer prompting rather than competing for attention in a crowded classroom. School-aligned pacing can also address learning gaps before faster classroom lessons make them harder to manage. Published IP Math assessment books and documented progress examples reflect the team’s familiarity with application-heavy work. Parents should still check that the class sequence matches their child’s IP school and current topics.

I attended class here when my GPA for math was very bad. In Y2 I managed to get a 4.0 after one year of lessons! Very grateful for the entertaining and enriching lessons. There is also good use of digital tools to enhance learning, even if one cannot make it physically, they are able to attend the lesson online in a way that is equally educational.

It is amazing, the teachers are great there and I really enjoyed it. I really recommend it because it helped me with my math a lot and it is a very good place to learn. I think it was very good that I chose to go here because it was so worth it. I felt very safe and I could ask any question, and they would help explain how to get to the answers. I think that it was very amazing that they print sheets for you to work on based on what your doing and I think that was a thing I had never seen before. I think they have amazing teachers and the teachers would sit down with you and explain each question you did not understand. It really helped me improve in math and I think it got me more confident in myself and not wondering if I was right, and instead knowing I am right. It was really great and I think Ms. Chen is a great teacher.

2. Orion Tuition Centre

Overview of Business

Orion Tuition Centre is an MOE-registered centre offering IP Math from IP Year 1 to IP Year 4 through weekly group lessons and private coaching. Its IP programme focuses on foundations and core topics, an important consideration when children face faster pacing and more demanding applications during IP Year 1. Regular assessments and calibrated revision help tutors identify whether difficulties stem from weak prerequisites, inaccurate working or uncertainty about choosing methods. Classes may be attended physically or live online, while consultation support through Zoom or WhatsApp can extend help beyond scheduled lessons. Orion’s tutors collectively have more than two decades of teaching experience, with Math and Physics taught by educators including Mr Anthony Lee and Dr William Toh. Parents comparing IP Year 1 tuition centres may appreciate its combination of structured instruction, assessment and flexible attendance.

Why Parents Choose Orion Tuition Centre?

Parents may consider Orion Tuition Centre when their child needs disciplined weekly practice but still benefits from asking questions outside class. The focus on core foundations can be useful when quick school pacing leaves small misconceptions unresolved, especially before those gaps begin affecting multi-step work. Regular assessments offer a clearer view of progress than repeated worksheet completion without diagnosis. Families may also appreciate being able to switch between physical and live online attendance, particularly during busy CCA periods or weeks when travelling to Toa Payoh or Yishun is difficult.

Mr. Anthony and Ms. Agnes are truly the most passionate and caring tutors I have ever met. They are experts in their fields—A-Level Physics and Math (Mr. Anthony) and Chemistry (Ms. Agnes).

Their materials are clear, comprehensive, and perfectly aligned with the GCE A-Level syllabus. What truly sets them apart is their approachability; they genuinely listen to students and adapt their teaching methods to fit individual learning styles. This allows them to effectively support students across different academic levels.

Personally, as a private candidate retaking my A-Levels, their notes and practices were crucial. Even without a school environment, they helped pace my studies and kept my motivation high throughout the year. They transformed my learning experience by breaking down complex topics into digestible concepts, shifting my focus from route memorization to true understanding.

My tuition mates from school settings also found that the lessons cleared up their misconceptions, making their school lectures much easier to follow and allowing them to excel in their exams. I highly recommend Orion Tuition to any student—whether you are a school candidate aiming for a breakthrough or a private candidate needing professional, structured support.

The tutors at Orion are top-notch, and were able to push me beyond what I would have achieved on my own. Teacher Anthony, who taught me both H2 Math and H2 Physics, taught the subject topic by topic, and within each topic, clearly demarcated various question types, and gave practices on each individual question, with clear steps on how to solve the question type. Such steps could be replicated to similar questions without much thought, proving the efficiency of the guides provided. Moreover, when it came to Physics, “standard” questions were demarcated and answers to them were highlighted. Upon memorization of these answers, when said questions appeared in the exam, it was a simple task for regurgitating the answer out, including in the actual A level. Moreover, through his observation in lessons and out, he would ask students who are weaker in general or at one topic to come down for extra lessons, where he would give them practices to do, and give the student feedback, and guidance on how to do said topics. I was personally one of those he asked to come down for extra lessons, in which he personally coached me one on one with topics that I was weak in. In the lead up to the actual A level, Anthony would predict topics that would come out and send us sample questions to look through, along with the answers to those question, among which some actually appeared in the A level.
Ms Agnes was my Chemistry tutor for H2 and IP3-4 Chemistry. Coming in, I was failing Chemistry. However, after the guidance and the personalized lesson plans, my grades did jump to an A. Ms Agnes is a very attentive tutor, who is able to answer any of my doubts, and coached me one on one on how to improve. Heading into JC2, Ms Agnes saw that my Organic Chemistry was the weaker part of my knowledge, and pointed out what I had to memorize, and even provided materials to help me in this part. With this, my grades improved throughout JC2 and even managed to score well in the organic chemistry portion of my prelims. With regards to teaching, Ms Agnes is engaging, and manages to pinpoint clear steps on how to solve a problem. Barring any complex math, Ms Agnes clearly pointed out how to solve a troublesome question, and by following these steps, most questions of similar type are able to be solved. In the lead up to the A level, Ms Agnes was willing to help me mark my TYS, from which I could see a clear steady improvement, from barely passing in July, to achieving a good grade in late October. Upon which, she would go through the paper with me, pointing out any mistakes I had, and telling me my common mistakes that I unfortunately had made, which I would then improve on, to which the next time a similar question appeared, I would get it correct. Ms Agnes would also help to predict questions, to which they actually came out during the A level exam, allowing me to breeze through said questions with ease.
All in all, the A level team at Orion is excellent, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of help for their A level track for Physics, Chemistry and Math

Subjects Offered

  • IP Math (IP Year 1-4)
  • IP Sciences: Chemistry, Physics (IP Year 3-4)

Teaching Methodology

  • Lessons reinforce fundamental skills before harder applications, helping IP Year 1 children avoid building on uncertain foundations.
  • Regular assessments reveal persistent misconceptions and allow revision pace to be adjusted around each child’s current understanding.
  • Guided practice exposes children to relevant question types while tutors model clear reasoning and organised mathematical working.
  • Structured revision supports knowledge retention, reducing the tendency to relearn entire topics shortly before school assessments.
  • Zoom and WhatsApp consultations provide extra clarification when difficult homework questions arise between scheduled weekly lessons.

Location and Availability

Weekly classes are available at Toa Payoh and Yishun, with live online attendance offered for added flexibility. Private coaching takes place at either branch, with limited home tuition slots. Families should compare the travel time to each branch with the online option and confirm the current IP Year 1 schedule, since programme slots and tutor availability may change during the academic year.

Price Range

IP Year 1-2 private coaching costs $85 hourly with at least four monthly lessons. A trial fee is waived if the child does not enrol afterwards. Parents considering private coaching should account for the four-lesson monthly minimum when comparing its total cost with regular group tuition.

3. Knowledge Trail Learning Centre

Overview of Business

Knowledge Trail Learning Centre is an Upper Thomson centre providing IP Math for IP Year 1 to IP Year 4 alongside IP English. Serving families in the area since 2010, they run small classes shaped around each student’s school pace, current topics and specific learning gaps. Founder Mr Darrin Tan holds qualifications in Math and Math Education and has taught at institutions including Dunman High School and Raffles Girls’ School. For IP Math, lessons begin with conceptual understanding before progressing to harder applications and assessment-style questions. This sequence may benefit IP Year 1 children who can follow familiar demonstrations but become uncertain when the wording or problem structure changes. Close review of their working also helps the tutor distinguish a careless slip from a deeper misunderstanding that needs systematic repair.

Why Parents Choose Knowledge Trail Learning Centre?

Parents often shortlist Knowledge Trail Learning Centre because small classes can make it easier to examine how a child reaches an answer, rather than checking answers alone. School-paced instruction may reduce confusion when different IP schools introduce topics in different sequences or at different depths. Mr Tan’s Math teaching background may also reassure families seeking an educator familiar with demanding school environments. A free trial gives the child an opportunity to assess the lesson pace and interaction before the family decides whether to make a longer commitment.

4. Mathathon

Overview of Business

Mathathon provides IP Math tuition across IP Year 1 to IP Year 6, with differentiated support designed specifically for IP Year 1-2 students. Led by Eve Tan, who has taught Math in Singapore for more than ten years, the programme focuses on conceptual understanding, critical thinking, logical reasoning and problem-solving rather than rote repetition. Her background includes Mathematical Science studies at Nanyang Technological University and ongoing postgraduate Math study at the National University of Singapore. IP Year 1 lessons are customised around students’ differing needs, with difficult ideas broken into manageable stages and connected to earlier knowledge. This can support children who performed comfortably in Primary school but find that familiar procedures no longer resolve less direct IP questions. Two-hour lessons allow time for explanation, guided application and discussion without reducing every topic to short drills.

Why Parents Choose Mathathon?

Parents may choose Mathathon when they want their child to develop mathematical thinking alongside stronger topic knowledge. Differentiated lessons can support a mixed profile, such as confidence in algebraic manipulation but difficulty interpreting unfamiliar conditions or planning several steps. Eve Tan’s subject background and experience may appeal to families seeking sustained Math specialisation rather than a broad general programme. A one-time free trial lets parents see whether the two-hour format, explanations and level of challenge suit their child’s concentration and current IP Year 1 needs.

Ms Tan is a passionate and engaging Math teacher, who truly makes learning enjoyable. Her ability to explain concepts clearly and motivate her students, has helped both of my children develop greater confidence and interest in the subject. They genuinely look forward to their lessons at Mathathon. The learning environment is a very comfortable and supportive space. Mathathon provides a free space for students to relax in or complete their work assignments etc. before and after lessons.
Since attending Mathathon under Ms Tan’s guidance, my children’s attitude towards Math has improved significantly. Most notably, my son showed tremendous progress — improving from AL4 in Primary 4 to achieving AL1 for Math in the PSLE.
We are very grateful to Ms Tan for her dedication, patience and effective teaching approach. I would highly recommend her and Mathathon to parents looking for a positive learning environment and real results for their children.

5. Learners’ Lodge IP Tuition

Overview of Business

Learners’ Lodge IP Tuition is an Integrated Programme specialist supporting students who follow the IP pathway rather than the conventional O Level route. Its regular offerings include IP Math alongside English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, taught by tutors experienced in IP and Junior College education. Study resources are curated by MOE curriculum specialists and SEAB A Level experts, while scheduled classes are capped at twelve students. For an IP Year 1 child, this specialist focus may matter because deeper applications and independent learning expectations can emerge before the child has settled into a reliable study routine. Lessons use a pedagogical framework developed with specialist MOE educators and provide continued mentoring for assessment readiness. Parents can choose between branches at Marymount and Kembangan, subject to the relevant Math timetable and available places.

Why Parents Choose Learners’ Lodge IP Tuition?

Parents may consider Learners’ Lodge IP Tuition when they prefer a programme built explicitly around Integrated Programme demands rather than repurposed mainstream materials. The twelve-student cap may offer a useful balance between peer discussion and opportunities to ask for clarification. Curated resources and specialist tutors can support children who need deeper reasoning practice while still consolidating their IP Year 1 foundations. Its two locations may also reduce travel difficulty for families in different parts of Singapore, although parents should confirm which branch currently runs the appropriate Math class.

At first, I came into the tuition expecting to just get by the subject, ensuring I don’t do so badly. However, after learning with Mr Lee, I developed an unexpected passion for econs, eager to learn more and do well for it. Mr Lee helped me to really understand the purpose and the nuances of the subject, helping me appreciate it and its impact on our world. If it weren’t for him, I never would have been motivated and do well for econs. So thank you Mr Lee and happy teachers day!

Thank you Mr Lee for being hands down the best economic teacher ever! From being scared of the subject and unsure how to approach this new subject, I’ve became more confident and began enjoying econs so much more. Thank you so much for being such an enthusiastic teacher who goes over and beyond for all of us and for always motivating us to reach our fullest potential. Wishing you the happiest Teacher’s Day!
Hello Mr Cai! 🙂

Although my time with you at Learners’ Lodge has been relatively brief compared to your other students, it has felt like a significant and impactful journey for me. Despite its brevity, this journey has been marked by challenges and weariness, but your guidance has made it both productive and enriching. While I excelled in Physics during my secondary school years, JC Physics posed a daunting challenge. My school tutor focused on advanced Physics to cater to my high-performing classmates, which led me to develop an aversion to the subject. Consequently, my dislike for Physics grew, and I found myself struggling in Physics exams.

After my Y6 TPs, I came to the realization that I needed external help to improve my Physics skills. Fortunately, I discovered Learners’ Lodge and was impressed by the enthusiastic reviews about your teaching. I vividly recall entering your classroom on the first day of lessons, feeling a mixture of anxiety and anticipation due to it being my first tuition experience in six years. However, as each lesson unfolded, you skillfully guided me in rediscovering my passion for Physics and bolstering my self-confidence. One remarkable aspect of your teaching was the freedom to ask questions, which was a stark departure from my prior experience. Your perceptive understanding of my weaknesses and your assistance in those areas were immensely valuable.

What stood out further were the engaging lessons you crafted, often incorporating hands-on demonstrations and aids to facilitate the comprehension of new concepts during revision sessions. Despite the relatively short duration of our interaction, you have had a substantial influence on my JC journey. I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude. Your guidance and support have been invaluable.

As I prepare for my prelims and A-levels, I am determined to make you proud. Thank you once again for everything, and I hope to achieve results that reflect the effort and dedication I’ve invested. Your influence has truly made a positive difference in my academic pursuits.

Happy Teachers’ Day!!!

Dear Mr Terence Chia,
Thank you for being super duper patient with us when we keep asking questions and thanks for explaining everything from the start so that no one is left out. I really appreciate the fact that you care for us so much and you are so understanding to us when we are sleepy. Happy Teachers’ Day!! Please rest well even though there are extra lessons the next week and have a good one!!
Dear Mr Raymond Cai,
Thank you for being so patient with us during classes when we ask you lots of questions while taking much time to understand and digest the physics concepts. I am very amused by how you can always find a way to use day to day objects to show how the physics work in real life which makes lessons a lot more interesting, enjoyable and understandable:) thank you for making funny jokes and showing us videos in class it really saved me from falling asleep:) Happy Teachers’’ Day and rest well!!
Hi Mr David Wong!! Happy Teachers' Day!!! I don't even know where to start thanking you. There's so many things! I know I only joined this year but honestly I feel like anyone can tell how passionate you are as a teacher just by joining one of your lessons. Honestly I'm so blessed to have you as my teacher because you might not know this but my previous Chemistry teacher in my school only focused on kids who were really smart and his teaching style did not suit me since I was a very slow learner. But when I joined your lesson for Chem Bonding, I immediately felt so much more confident in that topic especially because you know which topics you should use more time to teach content and which topic you should focus more on the questions. Also the way you simplify things to help me remember and understand things is so helpful!! You also made me feel so comfortable in class that I can clarify my doubts without being shy. I never thought I would understand chemistry before I joined your lesson. I keep saying this but I really feel so lucky that I got you as my teacher and not someone else. Honestly there's so much more to write but I don't want to tire you out by making you read a lot! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING MY WONG AND HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY TO ONE OF THE MOST DEDICATED TEACHERS IVE EVER HAD!!

6. My Masterclass

Overview of Business

My Masterclass provides IP Math and Science tuition, with classes mapped to differing school topic sequences and assessment timelines. Its IP Math offering includes Integrated Math, E Math and A Math across the relevant stages, while higher-difficulty question sets are used for IP students. For IP Year 1, the Bottom-Up methodology begins with the origin and reasoning behind a concept before moving towards demanding applications. This may suit children who can copy a demonstrated procedure but struggle to decide why it applies when a question changes form. Full-time graduate tutors from NUS, NTU and SMU reportedly average six to eight years of full-time tutoring experience. Weekly enrolment also includes consultations, assessment preparation, extension-topic support and digital lesson resources, giving children several ways to revisit difficult ideas beyond the immediate classroom explanation.

Why Parents Choose My Masterclass?

Parents may shortlist My Masterclass when school-specific sequencing matters and their child needs help connecting concepts before tackling harder IP questions. The Bottom-Up approach may reduce fragile learning built around memorised steps, especially during the transition into IP Year 1. Higher-difficulty sets offer extra challenge for children ready to stretch, while consultations and video archives support those who need another explanation. Progress monitoring and updates from a Student Experience Lead may also help parents understand whether their child is coping independently or quietly accumulating gaps.

I recently enrolled my son in My Masterclass's school holiday Secondary 3 E-Math revision classes, and I must say I'm impressed with the experience. What stood out was their thorough approach - they took the time to review his weak topics and tailored the lessons accordingly. The small class size definitely made a difference, allowing for personalized attention and a more effective learning environment.

The tutor's ability to break down complex concepts into clear, understandable bits was impressive. He was also adept at identifying common errors and areas where my son needed extra help. I appreciate how they consistently followed up and provided constructive feedback, offering useful recommendations to support my son's progress.

Most importantly, my son has found the lessons helpful and their approach effective. I'd recommend giving My Masterclass a try if you need a tuition centre that cares about their students' understanding and progress.

I stumbled upon this little gem along Upper Thomson Road, and it turned out to be a game-changer for my daughter’s Secondary Science journey. Don’t let its modest appearance fool you—inside, the spirit of learning is truly inspiring.

The teachers at My Masterclass are not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable. They provide constant, timely feedback to both students and parents, ensuring everyone stays on track. Signing up my daughter for the final stretch of her Secondary Science was one of the best decisions I’ve made.

The transformation in her results speaks volumes. In just five months, she went from a C6 in her mid-year exam to scoring a distinction in her O-Levels. This tremendous leap wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of the teachers, who instilled confidence in her and pinpointed her specific learning gaps with precision.

If you’re looking for a place to elevate your child’s Science results, look no further than My Masterclass. A special shoutout to Ms. May, whose unwavering support and guidance propelled my daughter to achieve her distinction. Thank you for making such a meaningful impact on her learning journey!

7. The Math Guy

Overview of Business

The Math Guy runs live online IP Math classes grouped by each student’s school and year, from IP Year 1 to IP Year 4. Current groups cover several IP schools, and students from different schools are not mixed because topic order, pace and assessment style may differ. Lessons take place over Zoom in groups of no more than six, using shared digital whiteboards that reveal each child’s working as it develops. Tutors diagnose gaps with practice questions, explain the underlying idea concisely and retest understanding during the same lesson. The programme lead is an RI and RJC alumnus with twelve years of Math tutoring experience, while school-level tutors are former IP students. This format may appeal to children who need close feedback but would prefer to avoid more travel after long school and CCA days.

Why Parents Choose The Math Guy?

Parents may choose The Math Guy when alignment with their child’s specific IP school is a priority. The six-student cap and visible digital working allow tutors to notice hesitation, skipped reasoning and recurring errors rather than judging only final answers. Immediate retesting can show whether an explanation has genuinely corrected the misconception. Online lessons also remove commuting time, although the child should be comfortable writing digitally, speaking up on Zoom and staying attentive throughout a focused one-hour class.

Subjects Offered

  • IP Math (IP Year 1-4)
  • IP Sciences: Biology, Chemistry (IP Year 3-4)

Teaching Methodology

  • School-specific grouping keeps lesson order aligned with each IP school’s current topics, pace and assessment demands.
  • Shared digital whiteboards reveal developing working, enabling tutors to correct reasoning errors before final answers are submitted.
  • Practice questions diagnose prerequisite gaps, helping explanations target the actual weakness rather than repeat familiar content.
  • Tutors explain concepts concisely and retest immediately, checking whether children can apply the corrected reasoning independently.
  • Groups capped at six preserve close observation while allowing children to hear alternative approaches from classmates.

Location and Availability

The Math Guy operates entirely online through Zoom. School-specific IP Math classes run from Tuesday to Sunday in one-hour slots, subject to a suitable group having space. Families should confirm that a class exists for the child’s school and year, as the model depends on keeping students within the appropriate school-specific group.

Price Range

IP Year 1 Math costs $50 per one-hour lesson, or $200 monthly for four weekly lessons. Registration, materials and separate material fees do not apply. A missed class may be replaced by joining another suitable available group that week, but refunds are not provided when no replacement arrangement is possible.

8. Simply Education

Overview of Business

Simply Education is a classroom-based tuition group founded in 2003 as a Math learning hub in Tampines before expanding to Hougang and Tiong Bahru. Its IP offerings include Math, Physics, Chemistry and English, with IP Math spanning IP Year 1 to IP Year 4, from elementary through more advanced work. Lessons are structured, personalised and interactive, with attention given to strengths, weaknesses, conceptual mastery and higher-order problem-solving. For an IP Year 1 child, this approach may help distinguish transition difficulties from specific gaps that require targeted revision. Regular assessment, feedback and guided practice can also encourage steadier preparation rather than rushed study before school tests. Experienced tutors include Mr Low Chee Leng, whose profile cites more than twenty years of Math tutoring experience with students across Singapore.

Why Parents Choose Simply Education?

Parents may consider Simply Education for its long operating history and choice of three neighbourhood locations. Structured concept work and regular feedback may suit a child who needs consistent routines after entering the faster IP Year 1 environment. Interactive examples can make abstract methods easier to approach, while targeted practice develops the accuracy needed for multi-step questions. The classroom-only model may work best for children who concentrate better face to face, although families should weigh travel time and branch schedules against the benefits of an established physical setting.

I would like to convey my sincerest thanks to the following tutors for their dedication in tutoring my sons these past years. These tutors are
1. Mr Foong
2. Ms Low
3. Ms Agnes

Mr Foong taught my eldest son, A, from 2011 to 2017. He taught him Science (pri sch) and Physics (sec sch). Mr Foong also taught my youngest son, H, from 2019 to 2025, both Sc and Physics too. My Foong is a very patient tutor who teaches with dedication. His love for the subject can be seen and felt in his lessons. Both my sons love Physics and it is evident from the results they attained in their O level exams. I have since recommended My Foong to other colleagues who are looking for a Physics tutor. Thank you, My Foong, for all that you do.

Ms Low also taught Chemistry to both my sons. Ms Low is also a very dedicated tutor who goes the extra mile to conduct extra lessons to students who need the extra push. Not only that, she communicates with the parents, updating them with regards to their child's progress. Her nagging and persistence has truly paid off. My younger son started lessons with her after attaining a failing grade at the end of Sec 3. And at the end of Sec 4, my son attained a distinction at O levels. Thank you, Ms Low, for all that you do.

Ms Agnes taught my younger son Math (pri sch) and E Math (sec sch). Her dedication in teaching the subject is commendable. She gives ample practice and it kept my son busy practising Math. He started to love the subject and it was evident in his results, attaining distinctions at almost every test and exam. Thank you, Ms Agnes, for all that you do.

Thank you, Simply Education!

the teachers here are kind, very committed and do their best to help us with any questions we have. with my chem tutor's -ms low's- help, i was able to go from a failing student to getting an A2 in O levels. despite joining the class last-minute, when O levels was just around the corner, she put in effort by texting me frequently to see if i understood the topics well and asnwered any questions i had for her. she made sure i understood earlier concepts by offering lesson videos which helped give me a deeper and clearer understanding as well as offered additional lessons to help catch up with the other students. she ensures that her students keep up well with the class by randomly calling on them to answer questions, and also texts us long messages to brief us on O levels and post-secondary education, so that we know what to expect. (she even held a Q&A session about tertiary education). she occasionally went through JC-level questions related to sec 4 topics so that we could have a deeper understanding about the sec 4 topic, and also know what to expect in JC chemistry.

Ms Low was very detailed in her teaching and helped me get A for chem A levels! My favourite thing about her style of teaching is she exposes us to many alternate and effective ways of problem solving and i was definitely able to use these methods during my actual exams. Shes also very helpful outside of class and entertained the multitude of questions i had for her, aiding in me understanding the subject to a better degree. Fast- paced lessons as well helps to keep u from ever feeling sleepy during tuition. Thnks Ms Low🤟🤟

Subjects Offered

  • IP English (IP Year 1-4)
  • IP Math (IP Year 1-4)
  • IP Sciences: Chemistry, Physics (IP Year 3-4)

9. Zenith Education Studio

Overview of Business

Zenith Education Studio offers IP Math alongside IP English and Language Arts, with school-specific pacing and class placement forming part of its approach. Established in 2019, the organisation has taught more than 20,000 students across its broader programmes and operates numerous branches around Singapore. For IP Math, lessons combine skills-focused coaching, concept-first explanation and assessment-oriented techniques rather than relying only on repetitive drills. Curated notes, consultations and online support give an IP Year 1 child several ways to clarify difficult concepts outside the main group lesson. This may matter when a child understands classroom examples but becomes stuck on unfamiliar wording or cannot identify the first step independently. Parents should confirm the specific branch, IP Year 1 timetable and class size because availability can differ across Zenith’s network.

Why Parents Choose Zenith Education Studio?

Parents may consider Zenith Education Studio when branch convenience and support beyond class are as important as lesson content. School-specific pacing can reduce unnecessary repetition and keep tuition closer to the child’s current IP Year 1 sequence. Consultations and online help may benefit children who need clarification after attempting homework independently, instead of waiting until the following week. The larger organisation also offers established resources and multiple locations, although families should check whether the available class size and teaching atmosphere suit a quieter child who needs frequent direct feedback.

I attended Chenfang's E-Math classes from Sec 3 to 4 and it really was an amazing experience to be learning with her!

In Sec 4, I jumped from a C6 for Prelims to a B3 for O's, something I thought I wouldn't be able to achieve. Chenfang helped me to understand what my weak points were through weekly assessments and so I improved steadily. Her classes are also really fun since she makes sure that we are not just studying but enjoying the process!
The worksheets at Zenith also helped a lot as there were many diverse types of questions that helped with gradual and thorough understanding, with extras for practice at home! The snacks were also a real help for staying focused in class 🙂

Without Nick I do not think I would have achieved such a good score. He is a very good teacher and makes lessons feel fun and explains concepts very well, I have not been lost or confused once in his lessons throughout my two years with him. I look forward to his classes every week and he made me fall in love with physics.😍😍 He also helps me with physics questions outside of lesson time when I whatsapp him especially when I was preparing for my exams.👍👍👍

10. Indigo Education Centre

Overview of the Business

Indigo Education Centre is an MOE-registered tuition centre established in 2011, offering IP Year 1 Math tuition through its IP Math programme. Lessons follow each child’s school curriculum and learning pace, which may matter when IP schools cover topics in different sequences, depths, and assessment formats. Its concept-based approach combines progressive skill-building with tiered practice and questions presented through real-world contexts. This may suit children who manage routine examples but become unsure when the same concepts appear in unfamiliar, multi-step problems. Video solutions, Telegram support, and consultations give children further opportunities to clarify doubts beyond scheduled lessons, rather than allowing misunderstandings to build over time. Having supported more than 10,000 students since 2011, Indigo may appeal to families seeking structured IP Year 1 Math support without an entry test.

Why Parents Choose Indigo Education Centre

Parents may consider Indigo Education Centre when their child needs tuition paced around an IP school curriculum rather than a standard secondary Math sequence. This school-aligned approach may be helpful in IP Year 1, when quicker lessons and deeper application expose gaps that were less obvious in Primary school. Tiered questions let children secure core concepts before moving towards harder problems, while consultations and digital support offer other ways to seek help. Termly reviews may also show whether difficulties stem from weak foundations, careless working, or unfamiliar problem-solving demands.

He is also like a buddy to me, therefore his lessons were always very comfortable and enjoyable ! I am super thankful to have him as a tuition teacher and helping me regain my confidence in math !

Mr Peng is a passionate and confident teacher. With his strong background, he is able to get his point across very easily. The way he teaches is in depth but yet easy to understand, making learning that much efficient and faster. Outside of class, Mr Peng cares for our well being and ensures we are coping well with our life, even more so than our school teachers. He has been a fantastic role model and an even better teacher. Without his guidance and teachings, it would have been difficult to score in my exams.

  • Progressive skill development strengthens foundations gradually, rather than moving too quickly into demanding, multi-step problems.
  • Tiered practice progresses from accessible questions to greater complexity, building confidence while maintaining suitable academic challenge.
  • Real-world-context questions teach children to interpret information and apply mathematical ideas beyond familiar textbook formats.
  • Video solutions, Telegram support, and consultations help children address misconceptions before gaps affect later IP Math topics.

How to Choose the Best IP Year 1 Math Tuition for Your Child?

The best IP Year 1 Math tuition should match your child’s current difficulties, school pace and capacity for additional weekly work. A demanding class may suit a confident problem-solver, while a child with uncertain foundations may need slower explanations and closer correction first.

  • Match lessons to current learning needs, including foundational repair, unfamiliar applications, clearer working or confidence with multi-step problems.
  • Check alignment with the school sequence, because IP schools may introduce topics at different times and depths.
  • Compare methods and tutor experience carefully, prioritising diagnostic feedback and reasoning practice over answer-pattern memorisation.
  • Assess class size and participation demands, since quieter children may need prompting while independent learners may enjoy peer discussion.
  • Balance access with the weekly routine, including travel, online concentration, CCA fatigue and available make-up arrangements.
  • Calculate the complete sustainable tuition budget, considering lesson length, frequency, materials, registration costs and trial conditions.

A trial lesson can reveal more than a programme description. Observe whether your child follows the explanation, attempts questions independently and can describe what became clearer afterwards. The right option should provide suitable challenge, honest feedback and a routine your family can sustain without making every school week another source of pressure.
