1. Artgrain
Overview of the Business
Artgrain provides structured art education for children aged 2.5 to 18, as well as adult classes. Its Clay Art programme is for children aged five to 16 and covers hand-building through slabs, moulding, coiling and pinching. These techniques help students understand three-dimensional form, spatial visualisation and thematic sculpture. The wider learning pathway includes drawing, painting, digital art, portfolio preparation and Secondary, JC and IB Art. Teaching focuses on observation, technical foundations, individual expression and close guidance in small classes. Established in 2010, Artgrain has six branches, teachers with art-school backgrounds, and holiday, school and corporate workshops.
Why Parents Choose Artgrain
Artgrain has provided structured art education in Singapore since 2010.
Clay Art teaches several useful hand-building techniques.
Small classes allow closer guidance from teachers.
Programmes support learners from preschool through junior college.
Portfolio students receive mentorship for DSA and SOTA applications.
Six branches offer families several Singapore locations.
My daughter has been with Artgrain for more than a year now. She started at the Bukit Timah branch and has recently moved to the Jurong East branch.
She has been learning from Tr Jiahui, and we are really happy with her. Tr Jiahui is very engaging and encouraging, and she always gives my daughter the space to express her own creativity. I can see that my daughter has become more confident in her drawings and, most importantly, she really enjoys going for her art class.
We also appreciate that even after moving to the Jurong East branch, she can continue learning with Tr Jiahui. It has been a really good experience for us so far, and we are happy to continue with Artgrain. Thank you, Tr Jiahui, for making art so enjoyable for her! 😊
Since starting her art classes a few months ago, my daughter has grown so much under Teacher Jai Hui’s guidance. Teacher Jai Hui is remarkably patient and supportive. My daughter truly loves the lessons and eagerly counts down the days to each class!
My daughter has been with Artgrain for almost a year, and I really like the way their classes are held. Although there is a structured syllabus, the teachers highly encourage creativity, so students have more input for their creations, rather than producing the exact same pieces of art as other students. The children have the chance to come up with their own ideas based on their preferences and opinions.
Different mediums are used, and the students will have occasional lessons that let them try other kinds of craft, so the students do get a range of experiences.
The lessons are flexible, as students are not limited to specific class timings by age, so picking a class timing that suits your schedule is easy. Arranging makeups when your child is sick is also very simple and non-restrictive, which I highly appreciate as a parent.
For anyone looking for art classes for their child, I would highly recommend Artgrain and Teacher Jiahui who teaches at the Jurong branch.
My kids have been attending Artgrain, and we've had a really positive experience. The teachers are patient, encouraging, and create a fun environment where the children genuinely enjoy learning art. It's been wonderful to see their creativity and confidence grow over time.
The lessons are engaging, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. We're happy with our experience and would definitely recommend Artgrain to parents looking for quality art classes for their children.

My teen had a wonderful experience at Fun with Artz! The instructor was warm, patient, and encouraging, making the class enjoyable and relaxing from start to finish. The lesson was well-paced, hands-on, and fun. It created a comfortable environment that allowed students to enjoy the creative process without any pressure. Thank you for providing such a welcoming and positive space. We truly appreciate the care and passion you put into every lesson. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun and meaningful art experience!
We had a great bonding session making delicious looking Singapore Hawker food - thanks Vivi for the patience and guidance ! Definitely would try to make other dishes in future ! We came home with stomaches growling 🤣 cos the miniature food looks so good !
An avid fan of buffet and miniatures, I thought why not combine the both?
And adding to my collection of my fav items in my regular buffet line, is this incredible sambal chilli stingray.
When The Art came out of a lovely tin box, my hands were quivering with both joy and anticipation (whether the essence of the dish can be captured). My tummy growling was first to hit my sensories, followed by flutters of happiness. Zooming in to the stingray flesh, how did she do it? The contrast of shades of reds with amazing flesh details. I dare not look at it more. I was getting hungry. But the onions, those shades of colour realism. Oh my gosh, Veavee did it again!!!
It now sits in my special display, which when complete will carry the buffet restaurant name and its relevant scheme. Right now, it's work in progress.
And knowing only Veavee delivers pure results, my next to do...cheese board with bottles of olives etc...
Thank you for making the world a better place, in the midst of the gloom. You are the shiny light. Keep it up.
I had a wonderful class with Veavee making fishball noodle set. It was a relaxing time and Veavee was really patient in explaining how each step should be done. She was really friendly and made tea for us also 🙂
I would love to take on another class with her.
Overall the class was easy to follow. As long as you take the time to do each item, your final product would be able to turn out beautiful!

The two complimentary classes of foundational tree drawing and urban sketching is highly recommended for many beginners who have little or no background. This was given in response that the culture credits urban sketching class is not suitable for people who want to learn art in depth.
The teacher Wu is very patient, explains the strokes through words and demonstrations, and there is sufficient room for executing the techniques on the spot.
Materials are provided on the spot, trees of various shapes are practiced. Also, a few buildings and some techniques were tried out.
There is also motivation to apply the techniques and the application is doable.
However, sometimes the teacher can be really busy so it can help to remind the teacher that I am done so that the teacher doesn’t take too long to come back to me.
Also, the centre is pretty busy so they might not always reply promptly. I suggest that expanding research outside is crucial, such as pertaining to what type of markers or canvas to get etc.
Overall, I think this class is worth recommending to complete beginners and people with little background to go in depth and also have fun.
Through SG culture pass I took an incredibly enjoyable sketching class with the Visual Arts Centre. There were a couple of other attendees in the class with me and I was supervised by the attending artist instructor, Jade. She has an encouraging teaching style and made gentle tactful suggestions on how to improve my eye, how to hold the pencils, hatch lines, discern the contours of shadows, and proportion the objects in the fore and background. I was able to produce a sketch that both she and I were satisfied with! All materials were provided which made it a convenient class. The environment was air conditioned and there was classical music playing in the background. Meditative and nourishing for the soul.
Just completed an incredible creative learning journey art tour in Manila led by Jeffrey and lola, and I couldn't be more impressed!
Both of them were exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate, bringing the local art scene to life with their insights and enthusiasm. The tour was perfectly paced - we had ample time at each location to truly appreciate the artwork without feeling rushed. I particularly loved learning about the stories behind the pieces and how they beautifully reflect Filipino culture and history. Jeffrey and lola's expertise really enhanced our understanding of the contemporary art movement in the Philippines.
Whether you're an art enthusiast or simply curious about Manila's vibrant creative scene, this tour is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the culture. I left with a much deeper appreciation for Filipino contemporary art and several new favourite artists to follow.
Fantastic Calligraphy and ink painting class with WU . Beautiful Professional and kind staff. I had a wonderful morning . There was a great Ceramics Exhibition next door .Thank you so much. Emer

Really enjoyed the leather-making workshop! It was fun, hands-on and very well organised. The instructor was friendly, patient and guided us clearly through every step. Just had company bonding event - combat archery! Great fun w facilitators Audy and Moon. Should try this company if budget allows! Keep up yr good work! Cheers!!
My team had chosen Giant Jenga as the team event under Fun Empire. Our active activity facilitator, Syafinah, was amazing in creating an engaging experience around Jenga. I have not seen my team this engaged before 🫰 Side note: Don't let the small size of game fool you. When it comes to pulling out blocks, people get super enthusiastic in shouting out strategies and helping to keep the tower stable while the chosen person pulls out the block and places it on top of the Jenga pile
Ashley and Huilun are both excellent facilitators. They create a comfortable and engaging environment that encourages participation from everyone. Their communication is clear, and they manage the session smoothly while keeping discussions focused and productive. I particularly appreciate how they balance professionalism with a friendly approach, making the session both enjoyable and effective.
Thank you to FunEmpire for organizing such a fantastic team-building session. The candle making and terrarium workshops were both creative and enjoyable. Special thanks to Rayhan and Husaini for their guidance and support throughout the activities.
Our students had a lot of fun playing saber tag. The space had enough space for the 45 girls and the facilitators Ashley and Kerine made sure that the girls were able to enjoy the game fully. Will recommend for team bonding and team building.

How to Choose the Best Clay Modelling / Sculpting Class for Your Child
Teacher experience: Check that instructors have experience teaching clay techniques to children in your child’s age group.
Age suitability: Confirm that the project, tools, instructions and lesson duration suit your child’s development and attention span.
Clay medium: Ask whether classes use air-dry clay, polymer clay or another material, as preparation and finishing differ.
Technique coverage: Look for useful fundamentals such as pinching, coiling, slab work, joining, moulding, texturing and proportion.
Creative balance: Consider whether children follow fixed models or have room to develop their own forms and stories.
Class size: Check how many learners share each instructor, especially if beginners need help with detailed work.
Safety practices: Ask about tool use, materials, supervision, allergies and any heating or baking for polymer-clay activities.
Project progression: Consider whether lessons move from manageable forms to more complex structures over time.
Child confidence: A patient environment can help hesitant children experiment, learn from mistakes and explain their ideas.
Individual feedback: Ask how instructors correct technique and adapt tasks when a child needs more support.
Learning goals: Decide whether you prioritise casual enjoyment, fine motor practice, technical development, portfolio work or ongoing study.
Studio facilities: Check whether work surfaces, tools, storage and finishing arrangements suit the projects being offered.
Finished projects: Ask whether work can be taken home immediately or needs drying, baking, curing or later collection.
Schedule access: Compare class times, travel distance, MRT access, course length and policies for missed lessons.
Fee clarity: Confirm whether materials, tools, firing, baking, registration charges, deposits and take-home components are included.

He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated—qualities that have made a huge difference in my son’s learning journey. My Primary 4 son has shown remarkable improvement in his Chinese since starting lessons, and we are so grateful for the progress.
Beyond the academic results, Mr. Tan’s teaching style has built my son’s confidence and interest in the subject. He is punctual, pleasant disposition and understands what a child needs. The entire experience with Mind Flex has also been very pleasant, professional, and supportive.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a tutor who genuinely cares and delivers excellent results
Friendly, pleasant, swift, helpful and most importantly not pushy
