Strokearts is a fabulous place to learn any art you desire to learn. I'm an adult currently learning Madhubani art and Lippon art from Shivali, and it has been a wonderful experience. Shivali is an excellent teacher - patient, knowledgeable and truly passionate about the art forms. I really appreciate how also she shares the background and history behind each art, which makes the learning even more meaningful. Highly recommended for anyone interested in any art form .

My 13yo child had a fantastic experience with the holiday art program! The 8-hr acrylic painting session on an A1 canvas was incredibly fun and inspiring. It was wonderful to see my child fully engaged, exploring colours, textures and techniques with confidence. The instructor was patient and encouraging, creating a supportive space for creativity to flourish. Our child came home proud of her artwork and excited to paint more - highly recommend this program for budding young artists!

I thoroughly enjoyed doing my koi fish madhubani painting under Shivali’s guidance. From the time we discussed what to draw and how to draw, Shivali was really open to my ideas and that’s motivated me to get this right to perfection. She lets the student share what they want before telling them what to do. I enjoyed every bit of color in my painting and was so satisfied to bring it to life. The little details to the color combinations, the chit chats we had, it was a fulfilling experience. Many more to go!!!

Pris was a very patient teacher and is a skilled artist who guides me and my wife in developing understanding of color, composition and different painting mediums such as oil and watercolor. She demonstrate the methods step-by-step before letting us try by ourself. Very fulfilling to be able to complete the art piece🤗

We really enjoyed the parent–child painting session here. My daughter and I had such a meaningful bonding time—lots of laughter, especially since we both had zero experience! With the guidance of the supportive and encouraging mentors, we managed to complete our paintings and now proudly hang them at home. The experience taught us to appreciate our effort and focus on the good aspects of our work. These are memories we will always cherish. Highly recommended for parents and children looking to create something special together. 🎨💛

I did the four-hour trial and it was a fabulous and rewarding experience! My instructor Priscilla is a great artist and seasoned teacher. She knows how to explain techniques in a way laymen like me can understand! She's patient, and she let me try and learn from my mistakes. She always managed to rescue me at just the right moment! I did an oil and learnt a lot about mixing colours, which is an integral part of oil painting. I am so so happy I went to Chalk n Pencils New Bahru for lessons. The studio is warm and welcoming. And it's so inspiring to see what other "painters" were doing. If anyone of you out there is wondering whether you have any artistic talent in you, stop thinking! Go to Chalk n Pencils and you'll find your potential!

I started my beginner oil painting in May, and right before relocating in early Nov to another country I was able to complete 3 oil paintings. I’ve loved going to the studio in New Bahru every Sunday and spend those 3 hours learning from Pris on blending colors and small little details of knowledge to paint better. It was a bitter sweet to end my oil painting journey, and lessons were extremely affordable as well and the studio has positive environment conducive for both adult and children learning. I would highly recommend adults and parents looking to embark on a creative learning with Chalks and pencils!

It was our very first time doing an outdoor painting session together with my child at Chalk n Pencil.
It turned out to be a delightful and meaningful experience—we had so much fun!
The instructor was incredibly patient, explaining and demonstrating everything clearly.
We even learned a few new techniques in drawing and coloring. Such a precious memory for us both. ❤️

I was recommended to Artify by another parent who told me that her kid is fidgety and requires an environment which is not structured and teachers who can understand and be patient. She didn’t do well in another art school and they found Artify which turned out great. Our experience is positive as well. My 5-year old kid’s first acrylic painting at a 1.5 hour trial session blew my breath away (note that he has never taken such classes before). Not only can Teacher Prisha guide him on a technical level within a short amount of time, she is also patient and allows space for mistakes without over-correcting the child. She explained that even though the proportions may not be right, sometimes there is no need to correct it because over-correcting a child would lead to the child losing confidence and being unable to be creative and produce their own art in future.

Owner Teacher Jae explained that the philosophy of the school is child-led. The child leads the subject and the teachers follow their journey to guide them. The art teachers here also have full time jobs and they come here to teach out of passion. This can bring a different perspective of life to art and to teaching.

They also have interesting holiday programmes such as linocut printing which introduces young children to different art mediums and forms and techniques.

I had such a fun time at Artify Studio! The place feels cozy and welcoming, with plenty of refreshments and the instructor, Jae, is friendly and patient. She guides you along if you are feeling stuck but also gives you the freedom to paint in your own style, which I loved. Everything you need (canvas, paint, brushes etc) is provided, so you can just relax and enjoy the session.

I walked away not only with a painting I’m proud of, but also feeling refreshed and inspired. Definitely recommend Artify Studio if you’re looking for a chill, creative way to spend a few hours!

Love the experience. I came alone just to try out their guided art jam session. Everyone in the class seems to know one another lol, some came with their friends, others are probably long time students, etc. It was my first time going for such an activity. I didn't have any experience in painting whatsoever haha, just wanted to try something different. The instructor was quick and very clear in her direction to create the artwork. I was left to do the artwork alone, and I truly like how I have my own space to work on the art, no pressure. (it's not like a tutor will sit beside you while you draw, lol). I got lost sometimes when I completed certain steps in the artwork and had to wait for the instructor because one instructor jumps around several students, but that's alright for me. Canvas and Paints were provided, including what colour to use etc, so that's worth the money. I was asked to choose a reference to follow in creating the artwork. Each reference requires different kinds of technique (lol didn't know that at first), I ended up creating the artwork using a sponge to make the background effect, which was cool. The whole session was 2hr 30mins but I exceeded slightly more than that, haha. Thankfully we're not forced to stop working lol. I definitely recommend coming to try some art painting, and it is always good to ask how the artwork is created first before deciding what to paint so you get the rough idea of the painting process (and challenges), and also ask what canvas size is available before you start (I was given the largest one lol). I got to bring back my artwork but now I have no idea where to put it, haha. One advice for first timer, pls wear socks or use their slippers, no shoes allowed lol - I didn't know that.

My 4yr old daughter has been going for art classes here since about a year ago and she's really benefited from it! I see she's picked up the basics of art quite well.

The patient and passionate teachers made it easy and fun for the kids to learn, breaking down the methods into easily understood steps. We get to bring home a 'masterpiece' almost every other week.

Thank you teacher Prisha!!

Tried some other art places offering children lessons in the area before settling on We Art. My child looked forward to lessons at We Art every week, which I think is the best evidence that classes are good. Ms Florence and Ms Desiree were very good teachers, professional and patient with kids. If your child’s primary language at home is Mandarin, they were also accommodating. I also enrolled my kid in their children’s art camp. Lunch is included and my kid enjoyed the art camp, too. In the art classes, I noticed that the teachers provide guidance but allow kids to express themselves and choose what they want to draw, and tailor the classes to each kid’s interest. The environment of premises is large and spacious and well-lit, clean, and the air conditioning is excellent (an important consideration in Singaporean weather). If you are a parent looking for art classes for your child, I would recommend We Art.

My daughter has been going to WE ART for over a year, and her (and my) experience has been nothing but wonderful! Every staff and instructor we've encountered has been warm, kind, sincere, patient and super helpful. I also love that they take a very free-spirited approach to art, always respecting my daughter's wishes for the type of art she's inspired to create each session, while teaching her different techniques and building her confidence along the way. Instead of forcing children on a rigid program or a specific type of art every single class, WE ART recognizes and respects that every child is unique in the way she/he approaches art, and therefore allows the children to pursue their own unique style artistic expression. My daughter simply cannot wait to get to her art session every single week, and has even requested to host her upcoming birthday party at WE ART as well!!

My child has been attending classes here for over a year and absolutely loves it. The teachers are energetic and encouraging, and each lesson comes with a different art theme that keeps things fun and inspiring.
Our 2 kids have been taking lessons here with teachers Julia and Unicorn for last 6 months or so. Both have improved their art work significantly. Our younger one started when he didn't even care enough to 'colour between the lines', and they both now feel very confident to try to draw anything 🙂 Secondly, they both look forward to the weekly lesson and take great pride in showing their outputs ! Thirdly, apart from the first couple of weeks, the kids have settled very well in the class because of the kindness and empathy of the teachers. Recommended for any kids looking to have a good time and improve their art thinking and execution !

My son truly enjoys his art class at Art Wonderland! We joined Art Wonderland in April 2023, and I've seen a remarkable transformation. Initially, he was reserved in class, but now he independently explores materials and uses techniques he has learned. He's even shown a keen interest in learning more about different drawing methods at home!

I appreciate how Teacher Grace is always welcoming and patient. She is open-minded, allowing the children to incorporate their interests into their art while applying the techniques they learn in class. The unique art pieces the kids create every lesson are truly impressive!

The excursions and exhibitions throughout the year also provide an eye-opening experience for the children. These activities elevate their art experience and allow them to see their work displayed in a gallery, showcasing their achievements.

Thank you for making art so enjoyable and inspiring for the children!

All my boys attend art lessons at Art Wonderland. What I really like about the lessons is that they learn about art history, techniques and interesting facts about various art mediums. The teachers are also able to teach all 3 boys from different age groups and they can attend the same art lesson weekly. The brothers bond over the lessons and really enjoy themselves every week. Despite the covid-19 pandemic, Art Wonderland has managed to make it work and continue to improve their teaching techniques both online and offline. Thank you Art Wonderland for the amazing, creative and colourful art lessons! 🙂

My daughter has been exploring her creative side with Art Wonderland for 3 years. Her Kindergarten Teachers have always pointed out my daughter’s advanced fine motor skills which I believe has been cultivate during her time at Art Wonderland. She is able to think creatively and is a very inspired child. I’ve also notice how resourceful she has become when it comes down to executing her ideas during playtime. I think that art should play a bigger part in our children’s education as the benefits are profound.

My girl has been attending classes at Art Wonderland for more than a year. The curriculum is very interesting as different medium is used for each class like acrylic, water colours, chalk, ink, etc and the works they have created are not just drawing or painting. They can create models, clay art, trinkets and many more. And teacher Lena is very knowledgeable and patient. Instead of just diving into an art piece, she will explain the theme, how to use the different materials to bring out the different effects, etc. Strongly recommend this art school.

My 7yo daughter has had 2 sessions with Art Wonderland so far - textile designer and animation. She enjoyed really herself. Although online classes are rather challenging for her, the teachers were patient in guiding the class through it and the small class size helped as well.

My kid has been a part of the Abrakadoodle GWC for over 3 years now. Abrakadoodle has fostered her interest in painting and introduced her to a variety of artists' styles. She feels encouraged to experiment, take risks, and push her creative boundaries to the point that she has won some art prizes in Singapore. The teachers have been professional and extremely helpful. Truly recommend Abrakadoodle for your young kids.

Great place to let the child make mess and express themselves. Every week it’s new theme so child doesn’t get bored and they also run themed workshops. Teachers Kari and Michelle are just brilliant with small kids and my 2 year old really enjoys being around them and making art together, teachers don’t push him to do “ the right way” and encourage his creativity supporting his sometimes weird approaches to art. Definitely recommend as it has various packages available as well as different locations.

We’ve been with this outlet for few terms now, started from mini doodlers level. Teachers are mostly youngish, patience and accommodating. Schedules are quite flexible too so that eases our unpredictable weekends if any. I do like it when my gal learns about different artists each week then came up with the same themed inspired piece. She looks forward to each week’s class despite different teachers on site. No pushing sales and life-binding packages ☺️

Been with Abrakadoodle since my son was 2 years old and now he is 6 years old. Abrakadoodle allows children to experience different materials to create different kinds of arts which is great; especially for young children.
The teachers were all patient, welcoming and encouraging. We followed Michelle from Serene centre to Great World City because my son who has a very insistent character feels especially comfortable with her.
Michelle is also always patient with our queries, were flexible and kind towards the kids. So yes, if you like your kids to be in a warm and joyful environment, experiencing different kinds of materials to create art and find confidence during this process, then Abrakadoodle is a good choice. 🙂

Classes are available at Great World in River Valley and Tanglin Mall in Orchard. The mobile art programme also serves Jurong, River Valley, and Orchard.

How to Choose the Best Art Classes Option for Your Child

  • Teacher Experience: Look for teachers trained in both art and working with children, especially for younger age groups.
  • Teaching Style: Decide if your child will thrive with more structured lessons or with open-ended exploration, and match the centre to their personality.
  • Age Appropriateness: Check that activities are suitable for your child’s age, as younger children need more sensory play and closer supervision.
  • Level of Instruction: If your child wants more serious training or portfolio help, choose centres that offer technical development and structured progression.
  • Class Size: Smaller classes give more one-to-one attention, which helps shy or hesitant children take part.
  • Variety of Mediums: If your child enjoys trying different materials, pick a programme that covers many media.
  • Creative Freedom: Look for classes that encourage original ideas rather than copying examples exactly.
  • Structure and Progression: If you want measurable improvement, prefer centres with stage-based curricula and clear learning outcomes.
  • Confidence Building: Consider whether the environment supports curiosity, resilience and self-expression.
  • Studio Environment: A tidy, welcoming studio helps children feel comfortable and focused.
  • Included Materials: Confirm whether art materials are included so you can avoid unexpected costs.
  • Trial Options: Take a trial lesson to see if the teaching style and environment suit your child before committing.
  • Schedule and Convenience: Choose a location and timetable that fit your family’s routine.
  • Price Transparency: Ask about any registration fees or extras so you know the full cost.
  • Long-term Fit: Think about whether the centre matches your child’s interests, whether for casual creativity or more serious study.

It has truly been a blessing to find Mr. Tan Tiam Teng as my son’s Chinese tutor. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated—qualities that have made a huge difference in my son’s learning journey. My Primary 4 son has shown remarkable improvement in his Chinese since starting lessons, and we are so grateful for the progress.

Beyond the academic results, Mr. Tan’s teaching style has built my son’s confidence and interest in the subject. He is punctual, pleasant disposition and understands what a child needs. The entire experience with Mind Flex has also been very pleasant, professional, and supportive.
