The National Museum of Singapore is one of my favourite museums in the country. It does a wonderful job of bringing Singapore’s history to life through engaging exhibitions, interactive displays, and immersive storytelling. Whether you’re a local looking to reconnect with our heritage or a visitor wanting to understand Singapore’s journey, there’s always something meaningful to discover.
The museum is beautifully maintained, easy to navigate, and suitable for all ages. I especially appreciate how it balances historical artefacts with modern technology, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. The rotating special exhibitions also give me a reason to return from time to time.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking to spend a few hours learning more about Singapore in a thoughtfully curated and inspiring space.
Spacious n air felt good with well control good input of cool air. Was very happy our local senior citizens who attended n usher people around. Love the old uncle vibe🫡 pointing out the rules n urge us to follow it.

Sunday very hard to find carpark.. was lucky.. heng heng someone drove off from fort canning carpark. YMCA parking alot too little LOTs.

The only downsides were the roller mouse on some interactive displays that didn’t work as smoothly as expected, causing a bit of frustration. Also, the food options at the café and the souvenir shop felt quite limited, more variety in local snacks or unique souvenirs would have been nice.
Overall though, it’s still a top-notch museum experience and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Singapore.

That said, the place feels more like a backyard farm rather than a proper attraction or museum. For example, their tanks and ponds are kept without filtration, and the water in certain areas appears rather dirty. I understand this could be due to cost constraints or temporary limitations, as they may not want to set up permanent infrastructure or electrical points if they know they will be relocating.
Hopefully, when they move to a new location, there will be improvements in terms of filtration systems, overall cleanliness, and facility standards to better support the animals and enhance the visitor experience.
Place is simple but turtles are cared for. There are feeds of vegetables to pallets that you can buy to feed the free roaming turtles. Some of them are kept in tanks as they can be territorial and have more space to themselves. Some of the bigger species are kept in enclosures. They have huge snapping turtles and soft shell turtles, as well as one giant tortoise free roaming which seem to prefer vegetable stems to other foods.
Overall a pleasant experience and nice place to let the family get to know more about these turtles.
Worth visiting and will definitely come again. My little one asks to visit every weekend after today’s first time visit.
There’s a Sunday cafe called “Touch Wood”worth visiting too, it’s just down the road. Moving in 2 weeks time, what a pity!

The entrance fees is reasonable affordable. It's more cost effective to purchase the bundle ticket for all three themes than to purchase single ticket for individual theme.
Come early as there is a limit on the bundle tickets for three themes for each day.
If you have kids, don't miss the fantastic children's area right next to the ticket counters—my child happily spent two hours there enjoying all the interactive activities! Also, be sure to head up to the 4th floor to catch the free science documentaries playing in the cinema. Highly recommended for families!
The ArtScience Museum is one of the most unique museums I've ever visited. The stunning lotus-shaped architecture is iconic, and the exhibitions perfectly blend art, science, and technology in creative, immersive ways. Every room offers something different, making the experience fun, interactive, and inspiring.

One of the highlights was a free film screening, which gave a great introduction to the museum’s unique mix of art, science, and technology. It was both informative and visually engaging.
I also explored several open installations and events located in the basement level, which were accessible without an entry ticket. These areas still captured the creative and futuristic vibe the museum is known for.
Overall, the ArtScience Museum in Marina Bay has a very welcoming and accessible atmosphere. If you’re visiting the Marina Bay area and looking for a cultural experience without planning ahead or buying tickets in advance, this is definitely a great stop to consider.
It was opened in 2011 by Singapore's PM - Lee Hsien Loong.
It features exhibitions that blend art, science, culture and technology.
It also hosts touring exhibitions curated by other museums, in addition to a permanent exhibition created in conjunction with art collective team Lab.
Unfortunately for us, our visit during 2023 did not reveal that in 2025, it was going for partnership with PGLang's when the museum was rebranded.
The architecture now is said to be a form reminiscent of a lotus flower, featuring an exterior made of fibre-reinforced plastic on top of a steel lattice, looking like 'The Welcoming Hand of Singapore'.
Art Science Museum is anchored by a round base in the middle, with ten extensions referred to as "fingers" in the shape of a flower. Each
finger denotes a gallery space sporting skylights at its 'fingers - tips'.
It has 21 gallery spaces covering 64,583 square feet.
Rainwater is harvested and channelled down the centre of the building, flowing through its bowl-shaped roof into a reflecting pond at the lowest level of the building.
The only permanent exhibition in the museum is 'Future World', which was created in collaboration with art collective team Lab.
The museum also hosts progammes, along with exhibitions, including screenings at its Cinema and VR Gallery.
Immediately after the entry, there is a relaxing area of a cafe, where one get a bite ir two.
It was an interesting visit for the 6 of us, which took about a couple of hours of a warm morning.

Plan to spend at least an entire afternoon here to properly enjoy everything. There is a lot to see, and it’s worth taking your time. They often host interactive or special exhibitions as well, which can take even longer, so it’s a good idea to check in advance whether the current exhibition matches your interests.

Took a guided tour with Lai - he was AWESOME. Best guide ever, extremely knowledgeable without being preachy, also very sociable and tried to draw several kids who were running around into the material. Lai posed several questions to them conversationally, and they impressed me at least with their knowledge. Damn, kids are smart nowadays.
Compares exceptionally well to the dinosaur exhibition at the SDC, which I'd attended a few weeks ago. That one was full of kids who were only tangentially interested in the material. Granted, this was because the materials there were really sparse and artificial looking (cuz they were fake).
The historical specimens from British naturalist traditions handed down were impressive and well preserved, and the context in which they were gathered and preserved as well as the history surrounding them as well. Also, the real fossils were impressive to look at, among them a nameless cadaver donated from St. Anthony's, orang utans, as well as plenty of taxidermied specimens.
Also impressive was the exhibit detailing Wallace's voyages, and that of the museum itself. My partner and I were also wowed by the diplodocid skeletons (hi, Twinky, you're amazing ❤️), the 'proposed' dinosaur footprint fossil found locally, and the database of local and invasive species found in the museum. I know I'll be using that extensively in future!
Would love to return again. A single visit is not enough to digest all this fascinating history and data and tradition! Would love to meet Lai again, and the other volunteers who help make LKC Natural History Museum such an amazing place. (shoutout to the sperm whale retrieval volunteers)
My kids were absolutely blown away by the real dinosaur fossils (Prince, Apollonia, and Twinky!). The museum is beautifully laid out with a great mix of prehistoric history and well-documented Southeast Asian wildlife specimens. It’s fascinating to see so much local biodiversity on display.
It’s very interactive and kid-friendly—perfect for my two primary schoolers who stayed engaged the whole time. Best of all, it wasn't crowded at all, making it a peaceful and educational experience for the whole family. Highly recommended!

Saw a group of visitors having a private tour. I think they might be new citizens to be doing Singapore experiential visit. They were fed interesting information.
