Free Request For Tuition

Choosing the right secondary Chemistry tuition can feel surprisingly stressful, especially when your child says they studied but still cannot clearly explain topics like the mole concept, acids and bases, or electrolysis. In many Singapore schools, Chemistry starts to feel much tougher once questions move beyond memorising facts and begin testing application, keywords and structured answering. That is often when parents start looking more closely at Chemistry tuition, after weak test results, rising frustration, or a sudden drop in confidence. This guide rounds up 10 strong options for secondary Chemistry tuition in Singapore, including home tuition and specialist classes, so you can compare teaching approach, class format, locations, fees and overall fit for your child.

Key Takeaways

  • Good secondary Chemistry tuition should strengthen both concepts and answering technique, not just drill worksheets.
  • The best Chemistry tuition centres differ in format, some suit children who need one-to-one help, while others suit those who learn well in structured group classes.
  • Parents should compare tutor experience, class size, location, support outside lessons and budget before choosing a secondary Chemistry tuition centre.

MindFlex – Your Best Platform for Secondary Chemistry Home Tuition

MindFlex - Your Best Platform for Secondary Chemistry Home Tuition

Overview of Business

MindFlex Tuition Agency is a Singapore home tuition agency that helps families find suitable tutors for secondary Chemistry tuition, without having to sort through many separate Chemistry tuition centres on their own. Rather than running one fixed classroom programme, MindFlex matches students with private tutors for home or online lessons based on level, syllabus, schedule, location, budget and learning needs. For parents with a child struggling in secondary Chemistry, this can be especially helpful when the issue is quite specific, such as weak basics in lower secondary science, difficulty adjusting to Pure Chemistry, or poor answering technique in Sec 3 and Sec 4. MindFlex supports a wide secondary range, including Secondary Science for Sec 1 to 2, Combined Science for Sec 3 to 4, and Pure Chemistry for Sec 3 to 4. That flexibility makes it a practical option for families who want more tailored support than a standard secondary tuition class can usually provide.

Why Parents Choose MindFlex?

Parents often choose MindFlex when they want secondary Chemistry tuition that is matched to their child, instead of expecting their child to fit a fixed class. A one-to-one tutor can focus closely on exact weak areas, whether that is balancing equations, remembering key terms, or handling structured O Level questions. MindFlex also suits busy families because lessons can be arranged at home or online, which helps reduce travelling time after school. Their free tutor-matching service, large tutor network and quick recommendations can also help parents move faster when Chemistry results suddenly become a concern before weighted assessments or national exam preparation. For many families, that convenience and flexibility can make the search feel much less overwhelming.

I’m very grateful to MindFlex, especially Alyssa and her team, for their patience and dedication in helping to source a suitable tutor for my son.

This is the 2nd time I look for them to source a tutor. This time round I had more specific requirements, including the tutor’s age group, gender and most importantly, someone who is patient and able to communicate well with students who are weaker in Chinese. Alyssa and the team were understanding, responsive and professional throughout the entire process.

They took the effort to carefully match a tutor who suits my son’s learning needs and personality. I truly appreciate their commitment and excellent service. Highly recommended for parents looking for reliable and attentive tuition support!

1. Mr Khemistry

1. Mr Khemistry

Overview of Business

Mr Khemistry is a specialist Chemistry provider in Singapore focused on secondary and junior college students, which makes it especially relevant for parents who do not want a general secondary tuition programme spread across many unrelated subjects. Led by an MOE-trained tutor with 20 years of experience as both a JC teacher and tuition teacher, Mr Khemistry teaches O Level Pure Chemistry, Combined Chemistry and IP Chemistry with a clear exam-focused structure. Lessons are aligned with the MOE Chemistry syllabus, so students are not simply given extra questions but are guided through the exact concepts and application demands they face in school. For many children, the real issue in Chemistry is not effort but confusion over how topics connect. Mr Khemistry’s strength lies in helping students build those links early, then turning that understanding into stronger answering and more confident exam performance.

Why Parents Choose Mr Khemistry?

Parents often shortlist Mr Khemistry because it is highly specialised and taught by an MOE-trained educator with a long track record in Chemistry. That matters when a child is losing marks not only from weak content knowledge, but also from poor explanation, weak application and uncertainty under timed conditions. Mr Khemistry also appeals to families who want a structured, syllabus-aligned path instead of ad hoc tuition. With clear notes, regular practice and personal feedback, children can see more clearly why they are stuck and what needs fixing. The strong results track record may reassure parents who want secondary Chemistry tuition that is focused, experienced and highly exam-aware.

Dear Teacher Jasmine,

Thank you so much for guiding and supporting Elysia throughout her learning journey. She would not have been able to get through last year’s O-Level examinations with confidence without your encouragement, patience, and guidance.

Your teaching has made a tremendous difference to her, especially in Chemistry. From struggling in Year 3 with an average pass, she made a remarkable turnaround to achieve an A1. This 180-degree improvement is truly a testament to your patient teaching, clear explanations, and your ability to make complex concepts engaging, enjoyable, and easy to understand.

Through your unwavering support, you helped her find the strength and confidence to move forward. You were truly fantastic in guiding her through what was a very challenging year.

Thank you once again for standing by her and believing in her. Your commitment and care have truly made a lasting difference in her life.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Mr Kua for making the Combined Science syllabus class possible.

Warm regards,

2. The Science Academy

2. The Science Academy

Overview of Business

The Science Academy is an MOE-registered tuition provider specialising in Science and Math, with a clear place in this list for parents looking specifically at secondary Chemistry tuition in a more structured academy setting. They offer O Level Chemistry alongside Lower Secondary Science, Combined Science and other secondary subjects, supported by a curriculum designed for progression and clarity. One practical difference is that The Science Academy often teaches upcoming topics before schools cover them. For some children, that preview can reduce panic in class because they are not hearing difficult ideas like bonding or mole calculations for the first time in school. Their low teacher-to-student ratio, online support and e-learning library make them appealing to parents who want Chemistry help to continue even outside class hours. This can be useful when a child needs regular reinforcement, not just weekly attendance at a Chemistry tuition centre.

Why Parents Choose The Science Academy?

Parents may choose The Science Academy because it combines structure with support beyond the classroom. In secondary Chemistry tuition, children often fall behind quietly, then freeze when topics become cumulative. A curriculum that introduces topics early can give them more breathing room before school tests. The lower teacher-to-student ratio also matters if your child needs more chances to ask questions or tends to switch off in large group classes. Another practical benefit is the 24/7 e-learning library, which may help with revision on weekdays, before exams, or after a lesson when the child needs to revisit a concept they did not fully absorb the first time.

Mr Yu is an excellent Chemistry tutor who makes learning both enjoyable and effective. His lessons are engaging and go beyond regular tuition, as he takes time to help us with school questions we struggled with. He explains concepts in a way that is easy to understand and ensures we truly grasp the underlying ideas. His encouragement and guidance have really strengthened my foundation in Chemistry and boosted my performance in class.

Mr Teng’s Physics lessons are always engaging and insightful. He goes beyond standard tuition by not only teaching the syllabus thoroughly but also helping us tackle questions we didn’t understand in school. His explanations are clear and detailed, making even the toughest topics easier to grasp. Thanks to his patience and dedication, I’ve gained more confidence in Physics and developed a stronger interest in the subject.

I have been in Mr Teng's physics class since Sec 2, and i would just like to commend his multitalented adaptability, humour, as well as his absolutely boundless patience in his willingness to explain concepts and questions however many times we may need, and even going above and beyond to link certain points of confusion to other common misconceptions that we need to take note of. On my favourite chicken rearer -- Runxing's -- life, I feel tremendously enlightened with every lesson. Some mornings I walk into the centre feeling like one of three smelly cobblers, and yet I'd leave feeling like the ancient chinese strategist Zhugeliang with the sheer amount of physics knowledge that Mr Teng has siphoned into my cranium. Moreover, with simple, logical explanations and analogies, i find abstract concepts such as electricity easy to understand and memorise. For example, I was tearing my hair out, using the long way to determine the force exerted by two wires on each other as their currents travelled into the paper, when just then, the angellic voice of Mr Teng rang out in the classroom that 'gay wires attract' and I had a revelation on the joys of electricity in that very moment. All in all, I'm very satisfied with my experience in TSA with Mr Teng as my teacher, and highly reccomend his lessons to straggling souls in need, and those of superior knowledge sinultaneously.

3. Achievers Dream

3. Achievers Dream

Overview of Business

Achievers Dream is one of the more specialised names for parents comparing secondary Chemistry tuition in Singapore, especially if practical work and exam readiness are major concerns. The programme covers Secondary Science for Sec 1 to 2 and upper secondary Chemistry for Sec 3 to 5, including O Level, N Level and IP tracks. What makes Achievers Dream stand out is its strong Chemistry focus and its NEA-approved lab, which gives students access to practical training that many families find hard to recreate or reinforce outside school. This can matter a lot when a child understands theory but loses confidence during titration, qualitative analysis or experimental planning. Their 360° Total Chemistry Learning System and digital portal suggest a more complete support structure rather than a once-a-week class only. For children who need both conceptual rebuilding and practical familiarity, Achievers Dream offers a very Chemistry-specific pathway.

Why Parents Choose Achievers Dream?

Parents often consider Achievers Dream when their child needs more than worksheets and model answers. Chemistry marks can drop because practical work, keywords and application are all weak at the same time. Achievers Dream’s practical lab component may reassure families who worry that school lab exposure alone is not enough, especially closer to O Levels. Their specialist positioning also appeals to parents who want a focused Chemistry environment rather than a broad secondary tuition centre. The digital portal, recorded lessons and customised support may be useful for children who need repeated review, miss lessons occasionally, or take longer to turn understanding into accurate exam performance.

Before joining AD, I was struggling a lot in chemistry lessons, trying to understand the concepts and keeping up with my classmates. I felt lost and helpless when I received my prelim grade back, which, to say the least, wasn’t very ideal. After weeks of searching for a tuition centre, I found AD through recommendations from friends, which made me decide to join.
While joining AD, I attended their weekly lab lessons as well as their regular lessons. With their detailed materials and experienced teachers, I was making progress in my ability to understand and grasp the concepts. With patient and dedicated teachers who will go beyond lesson hours to have consultations with students, I saw significant improvements and jumps in my A-level results.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the teachers and the staff at AD for their amazing guidance throughout this short yet stressful journey. Without them, I would still be lost and lose the passion I have for chemistry. AD made me realise that learning and understanding chemistry isn't as daunting as it seems!

Over time, AD became more than just a tuition centre to me — it felt like a family. I made great friends with other students and built strong bonds with the teachers as well.
Thank you, AD, for shaping both my chemistry skills and my confidence. I’ll always appreciate the memories and growth I gained here.

In the beginning of Sec 4, I was constantly scoring C5s and C6s for my Chemistry WA's. This made me panic as it was a sharp decrease from the A1's I was getting in Sec 3. I stumbled upon Achievers Dream after finding out that they have practical sessions at their tuition centre (which is very rare in Singapore). As my school lacked practical sessions, I thought this tuition centre will be the perfect fit for me. The teachers in AD were very helpful, going at a manageable pace so that everyone can follow along well. I also liked that they constantly asked questions to help me recall some of the fundamentals that I may have forgotten about. The worksheets given allowed me to have a lot of extra practice before my O Levels. Booklets were seperated into topics, allowing me to realised which Chemistry Topics I was weaker in. The summarised notes given were also really helpful as it allowed me to know what are the key concepts to study for each Chapter. The lab sessions were also very useful, allowing me to try out experiments that may come out for O Levels that I've never practiced in school before. The teachers in Lab sessions were also taking time to check in on students who were struggling. All AD teachers also taught some answering techniques that are essential for O Levels that were really useful as well.

I had joined Achievers Dream in July 2025, just 3 months before my O Levels, attending both the normal lessons and INEPP lessons. Despite joining later than some of my peers, I managed to score A1 for Pure Chemistry for O Levels, jumping from my C grades in the beginning of Sec 4.

Overall, I am grateful for the experience I had in AD, and would highly recommend Achievers Dream for your Chemistry tuition!

That’s when i decided to give it a try and with their teaching and support, i managed to improve from a E8 in s3 eoy to an A2 in my O levels!! The materials and teaching method achievers dream provide makes it really simple to understand chemistry! The teachers in AD are also really passionate and understanding, and i’ve never hesitated to clear my doubts. AD also offers practical sessions, where all materials in the lab are provided. This has helped me gain more confidence during my practical exams and taught me how to skillfully carry out experiments to obtain accurate and precise results. Overall, I think AD is the best chemistry tuition in sg and I would 100% recommend!!!!

When I first joined AD chem, I was very unconfident in scoring well for the subject. School papers were difficult to understand, lab worksheets didn’t make sense to me, and I was close to failing chem for my weighted assessments, which made me extremely worried about my EOYs, prelims and finally O levels. Joining AD chem gave me so many opportunities to practice answering techniques and learning from mistakes in class, as well as practising lab skills every month. This consistent drill increased my confidence in structuring open ended questions and making sure I earn full points. I became faster than my peers when completing lab experiments, and I became more knowledgable about what exactly the questions are asking for, furthermore allowing me to help my peers with this subject as well. And in the end, I scored A1 for O levels.

I feel like AD teachers are wonderfully kind and patient, especially when you are struggling with a certain topic. I once messaged my teacher outside of class about something I was confused about, and she sent me a long, comprehensive message for me to understand clearly, and also reexplained it in class with the other students too. I think this solidifies how much they care for us, their students, and would go a long way to ensure we achieve the grade we want.

Of course, nothing would magically make your grades better if you don’t put any effort into practising chemistry. Simply listening attentively in class and doing what the teacher advises you to do with their carefully structured lesson modules can make sure you score well in this subject.

Thank you AD teachers! And to O level takers, all the best!

Subjects Offered

  • Secondary Science (Sec 1-2)
  • Pure Chemistry (Sec 3-4)
  • O Level Preparation (Sec 4)
  • N Level Preparation (Sec 4)

Teaching Methodology

  • Achievers Dream uses a 360° Learning System, giving students support across theory, practice and revision rather than relying on lesson time alone.
  • The curriculum is updated to the latest syllabus requirements, which matters for parents who want secondary Chemistry tuition aligned with current exam demands.
  • Practical mastery is supported through an NEA-approved lab, helping students become more familiar with qualitative analysis and titration before major exams.
  • Recorded lessons and an HD lesson library allow children to revisit difficult topics, which can help when they need repetition to secure understanding.
  • Digital master notes and summary materials may reduce revision overload for students who struggle to organise school notes.
  • Personalised quiz tracking can help identify whether a child is improving steadily or still weak in particular topics.
  • For upper secondary Chemistry, exposure to long-year questions can help students handle common and less familiar exam patterns with greater confidence.
  • IP-focused support includes higher-order application and bridging work, which may suit children in faster-paced school systems.

Location and Availability

Achievers Dream runs classes from Lorong Chuan, Jalan Bingka and Kembangan, with flexible make-up classes across the three locations. This may help parents who need some scheduling room rather than a rigid single-branch arrangement.

Price Range

Secondary Science fees start from $360 per month, while O Level Chemistry fees start from $400 per month. A free diagnostic trial is also available, which can be useful if you want to assess fit before committing.

4. Heuristics Science

4. Heuristics Science

Overview of Business

Heuristics Science is known for Science tuition at primary and secondary levels, and for this article, its relevance lies in how it supports children through Secondary Science and Chemistry-related learning with a methodology that moves beyond memorisation. Based in Novena, Heuristics Science was founded by educators with MOE backgrounds and has developed structured approaches such as the TCR method and other heuristic techniques to help students think through scientific questions. For parents comparing secondary chemistry tuition centres, this may matter if your child knows some content but cannot explain, infer or reason through unfamiliar scenarios. Chemistry becomes more demanding when children must connect concepts and justify answers clearly, not just copy textbook lines. Heuristics Science appears designed for that transition. The broader science focus may also suit Sec 1 and Sec 2 children who need stronger foundations before upper secondary Chemistry starts to feel more high stakes.

Why Parents Choose Heuristics Science?

Parents who are tired of seeing their child memorise hard but still lose marks may find Heuristics Science appealing. Their methods focus on technique, concept and reasoning, which is highly relevant in secondary Chemistry tuition because many mistakes happen in the thinking process, not only in recall. If your child cannot unpack question requirements, spot what is being tested or structure a scientific explanation, more drilling alone may not solve the problem. Heuristics Science may also suit families who want experienced educators and a science-first environment. The combination of physical and online support can be practical for children who need consistent revision options throughout the school year.

Before joining Heuristics Science in Secondary 4, I was consistently getting a C6 in Chemistry and struggled with many concepts. After attending a few lessons, it not only piqued my interest in the subject but also boosted my confidence when tackling difficult questions. Even though I joined quite late, Teacher Lowell was very patient and enthusiastic in breaking down difficult topics into simpler, easy-to-understand explanations. With his clear explanations, targeted practice, and effective exam techniques, my results improved significantly from a C6 to an A2 in the O-Levels. I enrolled for Mr Lowell's chemistry lesson only in April 2025, 7months before sitting for my Olevels. He was very patient and always took time to explain difficult concepts in a simple way. The consistent practice, exam-focused strategies, and encouragement really helped me improve steadily. By the time I took my O-Level Chemistry exam in November, I felt confident and well-prepared, and I was incredibly happy to achieve an A1. Thank you for the constant support and dedication! Highly recommend to anyone hoping to improve in chemistry significantly!

Mr Lowell has been an incredibly dedicated and effective chemistry tutor. I enrolled in his lessons after my Sec 3 WA1, when I was struggling with my foundations and confidence in the subject. Through his clear explanations, structured approach, and constant patience, I was able to understand difficult concepts much better and improve steadily over time. He always made sure I truly understood the topics rather than just memorising answers, and his exam strategies were extremely helpful. Thanks to his guidance and support, I eventually scored an A1 for O-Level Chemistry. I’m very grateful for his help and would highly recommend him to anyone aiming to improve in chemistry.

This is an unsolicited review for Miss Sayuri. My daughter has been attending her online lessons since Primary 5 and has always enjoyed them. Miss Sayuri's energetic and engaging teaching style keeps her interested, and they communicate very well.

Previously, my daughter attended another popular online centre (from P3 to P4) but found the founder's teaching less engaging. What sets Miss Sayuri apart is her genuine commitment. She has always been helpful, replying to our WhatsApp enquiries (even though this isn't formally part of the centre's services). She also generously provided free online Zoom consultations about three weeks before the PSLE, entirely on her own initiative.

We are so happy to have found such a committed and caring tutor for our daughter.

The admin team has also been very responsive to our enquiries, which we appreciate.

Subjects Offered

  • Secondary Science (Sec 1-4)

Teaching Methodology

  • Heuristic techniques are used to train students to think through scientific questions instead of relying on fixed memorised answers.
  • The TCR approach emphasises technique, concept and reasoning, which can help children understand why an answer earns marks, not just what to write.
  • Secondary programmes focus on application strategies and foundational topic practice, useful for students whose lower-level understanding is shaky.
  • Manipulative-based teaching may help visual and tactile learners make better sense of abstract scientific ideas.
  • Hands-on experiments and real-life connections can support deeper understanding, especially for children who switch off when lessons feel too theoretical.
  • Online learning tools such as Zoom and Padlet provide additional access for students who need flexibility or extra reinforcement from home.
  • Structured curriculum support helps children follow school progression more steadily, reducing last-minute panic before exams.
  • The wider focus on critical thinking may benefit students who struggle most with unfamiliar application questions rather than content recall alone.

Location and Availability

Classes are based in Novena at Goldhill Centre, and Heuristics Science also offers online and hybrid options for selected programmes. That may appeal to families who want a science specialist setting but still need some flexibility around travel and timing.

Price Range

Secondary support options are available, though parents would have to enquire directly for pricing. Some secondary programmes and workshops have been offered from around $148, with larger revision formats priced higher.

5. Smartlab Education Centre

5. Smartlab Education Centre

Overview of Business

Smartlab Education Centre has been around since 1999 and offers a broad range of subjects across Primary, Secondary and Junior College. For parents specifically looking for secondary Chemistry tuition, SmartLab is relevant because it supports Lower Secondary Science, upper secondary Pure and Combined Chemistry, and science practical preparation. Their long-standing presence may give some families confidence, especially if they prefer an established provider with multiple branches and a fuller academic support system. SmartLab’s approach combines small class teaching, problem-based learning and access to an MOE-approved science lab. This may be valuable when a child struggles not only with recalling Chemistry content but also with applying concepts and understanding practical expectations. Because school workloads vary widely, some parents also appreciate a provider that can support Chemistry alongside Math, English or other secondary subjects if multiple weaknesses are showing up at the same time.

Why Parents Choose Smartlab Education Centre?

SmartLab may appeal to parents who want secondary Chemistry tuition within a more comprehensive academic environment. If your child needs Chemistry help but also lacks confidence generally, their small-group model and longer history could feel reassuring. The science lab is another practical draw. Some children only start to understand reactions, observations and experimental procedures when they see and do more, not just read notes. SmartLab also seems suitable for families who want branch convenience across Singapore. For quieter children, the smaller class setting may provide more room to ask questions and get feedback before misconceptions become habits that are harder to undo later.

After doing some research, smartlab is the most cost efficient in terms of price and quality, with lab provided and up to date teaching. If you are looking for structure and support even with 0 experience, this is the best place to consider imo.Smartlab also has a diverse student pool so study environment wise,it would require more adaptability and flexibility! Personally,I had to take on a new Alevel subject as a private candidate but I was able to manage thanks to Smartlab. Thank you to all the teachers who remained encouraging throughout this journey!

My daughter joined smartlab to prepare for O-levels, she took Science (Chemistry, Biology) and English at the centre. It was months of their guidance, termly assessments and feedbacks from teachers in preparation for the Os.
She was able to get A2 in Science. The reward she gets from Smartlab every time she gets an A for the Science term assessment added to her motivation. 😁 She said that she was relying on the notes given to her by her teacher towards the exams and she was so thankful of it that she decided to keep all of it if she may need it in the future. She is so thankful to her teachers in Science, I am so thankful to them as well for keeping her more interested in the subject that she loves and helping her excel on it.
As for English she may have not got better result that she wanted still thankful she was able to get passing grade for it.

This is from a parent’s perspective. It was not an easy decision to have my daughter retake her o levels because of the stigma of wasting another year. I knew and so did my daughter from before her prelims that aiming for the result she wanted to get into a school of her choice would be quite impossible. I already started thinking of alternatives and by God’s grace I found out about SmartLab Private School and had a long chat with Tony. After that the path was clear and even when the results were not out, my daughter was registered at the school. 1 year later, the results speak for itself. No tuition this time! Chloe won 2 awards for good performance as well! SmartLab is more than a school, it is a place for those who want direct their own direction in life. Thank you SmartLab for being the light in our lives when we most needed it.

I had a blast the past year studying at smartlab! Every teacher was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and patient. Any part of the syllabuses that I did not understand would be explained to me with patience and repeatedly if necessary without them showing any sign of frustration! Texting the teachers was always recommended if clarification on topics was needed. The classrooms were all kept clean and the teachers always came prepared and well equipped for upcoming lessons. They provided us with ample notes and practice papers to ensure no gap in knowledge whatsoever. Thank you to Mr Tay Tien Kiat, Mr Tan Wei Ee, Mr Collin Lim and Principal of the SmartLab Mr Tony Tan for their guidance and support throughout the year! Highly recommended for those considering taking A levels for the first time and for retakers as well!😊

I enrolled at Smartlab last year to prepare for my O Levels as a private candidate at the age of 24.
Back when I was 17, I took my N Levels and completely flunked them. I had no interest in studying at all. My grades were English (4), History (Absent) and the rest ungraded (Math, Science, POA). Fast forward to last year, after studying with Smartlab, my O Level results were English (A2), Humanities (Social Studies + History) (B4), Business Studies (B3) and POA (B3). Although I didn’t manage to pass Math (D7), I think I did pretty well considering I hadn’t studied for almost 8 years.
Smartlab’s teachers and teaching strategies were very effective, they managed to cover about four years’ worth of content in less than a year. Their resources and structured approach really helped me regain my confidence in studying.
Special thanks to Mr. Collin, who taught me English, Social Studies and History. He’s extremely encouraging, patient and always willing to help. I often texted him late at night with questions and he would always reply quickly.
Overall, Smartlab’s teaching methods, materials and supportive teachers made a huge difference in my learning journey. I’m very thankful for their guidance and would highly recommend Smartlab to anyone preparing for their O Levels.

Smartlab has truly helped me achieve my dreams! When I joined, I was determined to do well for my O-Levels, and thanks to the supportive teachers and their effective teaching methods, I was able to reach my goals. The environment was always encouraging, and the teachers genuinely cared about helping every student succeed.

Because of the foundation I built at Smartlab, I’m now pursuing my Diploma in Criminology at a private academy — something I’ve always been passionate about. I’m really grateful for the guidance, motivation, and belief that Smartlab gave me throughout my journey.

Thank you, Smartlab, for being such an important part of my success and for always reminding your students to believe in themselves! 🙏🎓✨

Thank you so much, SmartLab, for giving me a second chance to redeem myself for my O-Levels and allowing me to pass all my subjects with flying colours. My chemistry especially, have improved tremendously, from E8 to A2!! After many negative experiences in my former school, SmartLab completely changed my perspective on studying and learning.

The teachers here are incredibly kind, patient, and dedicated — they take the time to explain every concept clearly until you truly understand it. They never make you feel judged or left behind, and their encouragement really motivated me to keep going. You can also approach the teachers anytime after class if you still have any doubts. They also provide really good notes and you even get to do hands-on practice for your Science practical at their lab!

The learning environment is also very conducive — quiet, comfortable, and filled with people who genuinely want to learn and improve themselves. I always felt supported not only academically but also emotionally, which made a huge difference in my confidence and attitude toward my studies.

I’m truly grateful for everything SmartLab has done for me. It’s not just a tuition centre — it’s a place that helped me rebuild my self-belief and rediscover the joy of learning. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to do well and feel supported along the way!

6. Future Achievers Hub

6. Future Achievers Hub

Overview of Business

Future Achievers Hub started with a small group of secondary students and has since grown into a specialist provider for Secondary and Junior College subjects, including Pure Chemistry and Combined Science. For parents searching for secondary Chemistry tuition, their focus is quite clear. They aim to close the gap between an MOE syllabus that increasingly rewards understanding and common study habits that still rely too heavily on memorisation. Based in Tampines Junction, Future Achievers Hub keeps classes small and uses a diagnostic-first approach for new students. That can be helpful when a child’s Chemistry struggles are still unclear, for example when parents know results are weak but are unsure whether the problem is concepts, pace, exam technique or confidence. Their coaching style appears designed to make lessons less intimidating, which matters because many children stop asking questions in Chemistry once they feel they are already behind.

Why Parents Choose Future Achievers Hub?

Parents may appreciate Future Achievers Hub for being clear, practical and supportive from the start. The free diagnostic lesson and personalised action plan can be useful when your child’s weak Chemistry grade is only the symptom, not the full problem. Small classes of 12 to 16 students may also suit children who need airtime without feeling exposed in a very large group. Another draw is the mix of scholar-tutors and NIE-trained teachers, which may reassure parents who want subject depth with current syllabus awareness. If your child tends to shut down when learning feels stressful, the centre’s patient and less intimidating atmosphere could make a real difference.

My daughter joined their Chem tuition in Sec 3. Before joining, her Chem result is almost zero as she did not understand Chem from school. Tutors in this centre are very caring. Despite my daughter's almost zero knowledge in Chem, they are most willing to spend time guiding her through to her O level last year. My daughter got B3 for her O level Science and we really credit the tutors - Javen and Glenn - for being so passionate in their teaching and guidance, which is really lacked of in teachers and tutors nowadays. Many thanks and greatly appreciate! ❤️🙏

I attended the redox and electrochemistry crash course today. The session was really effective as i got exposed to different question types that i have never faced before. I learnt many useful answering techniques which would definitely give me a boost in my grade. Tutor was engaging and effective as well. I better understand the chapter now
I went for organic chem crash course. The tutor was highly engaging and was very clear with his explanations. Taught me stuff that schools normally wouldn't separately spend time on but still expect you to know. He had some tips and tricks for questions, which he generously shared, which enabled me to take a while new approach with organic chem qns. I am so happy I went for the crash course! Highly recommended centre!

As a parent. I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for all the support and guidance that Mr Javen and also to other tutors. Their advice, patience, and encouragement have made a significant impact on my son personal and academic growth.
Truly appreciate their time and effort in helping my son improve in his O level chemistry and mathematics.
I truly recommend Future Achievers Hub to those that need help in their academic.

Subjects Offered

  • Secondary Math (Sec 1-2)
  • E Math (Sec 3-4)
  • A Math (Sec 3-4)
  • Pure Chemistry (Sec 3-4)
  • Combined Science (Sec 3-4)
  • Pure Physics (Sec 3-4)

Teaching Methodology

  • Every new student starts with a free diagnostic lesson, which can help pinpoint whether the main issue is concept gaps, exam technique or confidence.
  • A personalised action plan follows quickly, giving parents a clearer sense of what support the child actually needs in Chemistry.
  • Classes are designed around preparing for the next paper, not just covering the next topic, which may feel more purposeful for upper secondary students.
  • Teaching emphasises understanding the why behind concepts, useful for children who can memorise but struggle with application questions.
  • Small groups of 12 to 16 students allow room for individual interaction, which may help quieter children ask questions earlier.
  • Consistent subject-specific coaches each week can give children continuity, especially if they need time to build trust before speaking up.
  • Materials include notes, weekly revision sets and practice papers, helping students keep revision more structured.
  • Pure Chemistry is taught as a connected story, which may benefit students who currently see each topic as isolated and confusing.

7. AO Studies

7. AO Studies

Overview of Business

AO Studies specialises in O Level and A Level education, which makes it especially relevant for parents of Sec 3 and Sec 4 children who want secondary Chemistry tuition with a clear exam orientation. Located near Bugis and City Hall, AO Studies focuses on a smaller number of subjects rather than trying to be everything for everyone. For Chemistry, that specialisation can be useful when your child needs more than generic secondary tuition. The Chemistry programme is taught by an ex-MOE teacher with both school and tutoring experience, and the centre highlights a rigorous, systematic approach built around reteaching, concise notes and strong answering methods. This is often where students improve most. Many secondary children do not struggle in Chemistry because they never studied, but because they misunderstand abstract content and cannot turn partial knowledge into exam-ready answers. AO Studies seems built to address exactly that problem in a focused way.

Why Parents Choose AO Studies?

Parents may choose AO Studies when they want an exam-focused secondary chemistry tuition centre with strong tutor access. Free unlimited consultation can matter a lot for Chemistry because confusion often appears after class, when a child starts homework or revision and suddenly realises they do not truly understand the topic. AO Studies also keeps class sizes relatively small, which may help children who need individual correction but are still comfortable learning in a group. The experienced teaching team and central location add practicality. For families whose child is approaching O Levels and needs both content reteaching and sharper answering technique, AO Studies is a serious option to compare.

before i joined AO studies, my pure chemistry and physics were both on the verge of failing, so i decided to join AO studies as the location is very accessible with many bus stops nearby and bugis mrt as well.
the lessons at AO studies are very well paced and not rushed as time is taken to make sure everyone has gotten their basics of the topic ingrained before gradually increasing the difficulty at comfortable pace. the notes given are also very concise and helpful in explaining all different question types and how to tackle them.
thanks to AO studies i went from almost failing to B3 for pure physics and B4 in pure chemistry in O levels.
i would definitely encourage everyone to join AO studies as it has helped me improve by leaps and bounds, in addition theres also free drinks and snacks and the option to spin the wheel for prizes ranging from ice cream to cash!! and most importantly an extremely competent tutor willing to go the extra mile to teach you and help you get that A1!

Before joining AO Studies, I was always failing Chemistry and Physics and honestly thought I would never improve. I couldn’t really understand what was going on in class and felt quite stressed about these subjects.
The lessons at AO Studies were very clear and easy to understand. Mr Ang explains concepts step by step and very patiently , so it doesn’t feel scary to ask questions. Lessons were also focused on what we actually need for exams.
With the help of AO Studies, I managed to get A2 for both Chemistry and Physics in my oLevel exams.
I would definitely recommend AO Studies to anyone who is struggling in Chem or Physics or wants to do better.

Subjects Offered

  • Pure Physics (Sec 3-4)
  • Pure Chemistry (Sec 3-4)
  • Combined Science (Sec 3-4)
  • Secondary Math (Sec 1-2)
  • O Level Preparation (Sec 4)

Teaching Methodology

  • AO Studies uses topical reteaching to close gaps and correct misconceptions before moving into heavier exam practice.
  • Concise topical and revision notes may help children who feel overwhelmed by thick school files and disorganised materials.
  • Chemistry teaching uses videos and diagrams to make abstract concepts easier to understand, which can be especially useful for visual learners.
  • There is a strong emphasis on answering technique, helping students learn how to present Chemistry answers in a way that secures marks.
  • In-depth tutorials and higher-order discussions prepare students for less familiar questions instead of over-relying on repetition.
  • Marking scheme discussions can help children see why their current phrasing loses marks, even when they roughly know the content.
  • Small class sizes support more individual attention during lessons.
  • Unlimited consultation gives students more chances to clarify difficult topics outside regular class time, which may reduce revision bottlenecks before tests.

Location and Availability

AO Studies is based at North Bridge Centre, around 5 minutes from Bugis MRT or City Hall MRT. Weekly 2-hour Chemistry classes are scheduled for Sec 3 and Sec 4 students, which may suit families looking for a central location.

Price Range

Weekly O Level Chemistry classes are $320 for 4 lessons or $780 for 10 lessons, with a $50 material fee for the academic year. There is no deposit, admin fee or registration fee for regular classes.

8. Bright Culture

8. Bright Culture

Overview of Business

Bright Culture Tuition Centre offers Science-focused support across upper primary, secondary and junior college levels, with O Level Chemistry standing out as one of its clearer specialist offerings for this article. Located near Novena MRT, Bright Culture may appeal to parents who want secondary Chemistry tuition in a smaller, more manageable setting rather than a very large school-like class. Their Chemistry tutors are described as experienced, with some having over 10 years of teaching experience and MOE school backgrounds. The centre also provides proprietary notes and practice papers, which can be useful when a child’s school materials feel fragmented or too difficult to revise from independently. For many children, Chemistry becomes stressful because they do not know how to organise the topic, what to memorise, or how to answer precisely. Bright Culture appears to support that gap by focusing on clearer explanation, guided practice and confidence-building over time.

Why Parents Choose Bright Culture?

Parents may be drawn to Bright Culture because it offers a relatively focused and less intimidating route into secondary Chemistry tuition. If your child is already anxious about Chemistry, a small class and patient teaching style can matter as much as the content itself. Their free trial also gives families a low-pressure way to test whether the teaching pace and classroom feel are suitable. Another plus is the centre’s long-term support approach. Some children do not improve after just a few lessons because the real issue is poor fundamentals and low confidence. Bright Culture’s notes, practice papers and tutor experience may help rebuild both more steadily.

My science tuition has been a great support for my learning. Lessons are clear and engaging, and the tutor takes time to ensure I understand difficult topics. I’ve become more confident and find science much easier now.
My science tuition is very helpful and well-structured. Classes are easy to understand. The tutor explains concepts clearly, uses good examples, and is always patient when answering questions. I feel more confident in science and better prepared for tests.

Subjects Offered

  • Secondary Science (Sec 1-2)
  • Pure Chemistry (Sec 3-4)
  • E Math (Sec 3-4)
  • A Math (Sec 3-4)
  • Pure Physics (Sec 3-4)
  • Pure Biology (Sec 3-4)
  • O Level Preparation (Sec 4)

Teaching Methodology

  • Lessons are described as well-structured, which may help children who need difficult Chemistry topics broken into clearer steps.
  • Small class sizes allow tutors to adjust to different learning speeds, useful for students who either lag behind or need more challenge.
  • Proprietary notes can give students a cleaner revision path if school notes feel too scattered or overwhelming.
  • Practice papers support repeated application, which matters in Chemistry because understanding alone is rarely enough for higher marks.
  • Teachers guide students on important keywords in questions, helping them identify what examiners are truly testing.
  • Tutors provide correction on how to improve answers, which may be especially helpful for children who keep making the same exam mistakes.
  • Online lessons via Zoom offer flexibility, and students can still ask questions during class.
  • For online learners, couriered notes help maintain continuity rather than leaving students to print or source their own materials.

Location and Availability

Bright Culture’s physical classes are based at Goldhill Centre near Novena MRT, and online lessons are also available. This may suit families who want either a central in-person option or a more flexible learn-from-home arrangement.

9. Learners’ Lodge

9. Learners' Lodge

Overview of Business

Learners’ Lodge is represented here through its O Level Master brand, which focuses on helping secondary students prepare for O Level subjects with a clear exam-centred framework. For parents looking at secondary Chemistry tuition, this is relevant because Chemistry is offered alongside Physics, Biology, Math and Social Studies, supported by a student-centric pedagogical model geared towards curriculum mastery and exam readiness. Their approach places strong emphasis on not just subject knowledge but learning techniques, critical thinking and practical application. That can matter in Chemistry, where many children hit a wall once questions become less direct and more analytical. Learners’ Lodge also appears to invest in learning materials, technology and practical support, including Chemistry and Physics crash support and practical-related exposure. For a child who needs more strategic preparation for Sec 3 and Sec 4 rather than only topic explanation, this can be worth considering.

Why Parents Choose Learners’ Lodge?

Parents may consider Learners’ Lodge because it combines subject teaching with a deliberate exam strategy mindset. In secondary Chemistry tuition, that can be useful when your child’s issue is no longer just understanding content, but handling timed papers, practical expectations and unfamiliar question styles. The emphasis on curriculum mastery and application may also help children who know individual facts but cannot connect them under pressure. Another practical draw is the multi-branch availability, which can make weekly attendance more sustainable. If your child needs O Level-focused coaching and a more structured preparation framework, Learners’ Lodge offers a route that goes beyond simple homework help.

Your summary notes, the tips that you give, all shows the dedication that you put into your work. 😆 But beyond that, I really really enjoy the enthusiasm in the lessons that you give us. The tiny stories that you tell, about your life, and other little things. The jokes that you make 😂, really help to make the lesson that much more enjoyable and less stressful. So thank you for being such a caring and hardworking teacher!! 🙏🏻😝

Thank you Mr Gilbert Lee for supporting me in my academic journey for H2 Econs and allowing me to eventually do well for the ‘A’ Levels! I still remember in J1 when I was unable to understand anything during the school lectures and that was why I decided to come to tuition. The notes and explanations by Mr Lee really helped me to understand what was required for the syllabus and how to improve my essays. Thank you also for the constant encouragement also that motivated me to continue to work hard for Economics even though I was not scoring too well in school. Most importantly, attending Mr Lee’s lessons was inspiring and eye-opening as he applied Economics to real life stories and would often share his opinions with us which was what I enjoyed most about the lessons and made me look forward to attending them. Thank you Mr Lee for the past 2 years!

Overview of Business

Epsilon Education is a relatively newer tuition provider that puts strong emphasis on conceptual understanding and personalised learning, which makes it a relevant option for parents comparing secondary Chemistry tuition for children who are studying hard but not retaining much. They support Secondary Science, secondary Chemistry and other upper secondary subjects, as well as IP pathways. Epsilon’s teaching is built around a 3T framework, Teach, Try and Test, aimed at helping students absorb, practice and recall concepts more effectively within each lesson. For Chemistry, that structure may help when a child’s issue is not only poor understanding, but also forgetting content quickly or failing to transfer it into exam conditions. With small class support, in-house materials and 24/7 WhatsApp help, Epsilon Education may appeal to parents who want a more responsive learning environment, especially for children who need regular reassurance between lessons.

Why Parents Choose Epsilon Education?

Parents may choose Epsilon Education because the teaching approach feels highly intentional rather than generic. In secondary Chemistry tuition, some children do not need more hours, they need clearer sequencing, immediate correction and better retention. The 3T framework may suit those children because each lesson moves from explanation to practice to recall. Epsilon also offers a low-cost discovery class, which makes it easier for families to test the fit before making a bigger commitment. The personalised attention, 24/7 WhatsApp support and open communication with parents can be especially helpful if your child tends to lose momentum between classes or needs closer monitoring during exam periods.

I joined epsilon for math in j1 with yugesh and chem after prelims with jonas! my math has been really consistent since joining yugesh’s lessons are super clear and structured, and he always makes sure we actually understand the logic behind each topic instead of just memorising formulas. he also gives really helpful timed practices that honestly saved me for exams 😭

for chem, i was doing quite badly before joining but jonas really helped me become so much more confident. he explains everything in a way that’s easy to follow and somehow makes even the harder topics click. both tutors are also super approachable you can text them anytime with questions and they’re always willing to help or do extra consults.

overall epsilon has such a nice vibe, small classes, really detailed notes, and tutors who genuinely care about your progress. 10/10 good vibes good people good results 💪

  • The Teach phase breaks concepts into smaller chunks, which may help children stay focused during difficult Chemistry topics.
  • The Try phase gives immediate practice and feedback, useful for students who think they understand until they attempt questions themselves.
  • The Test phase encourages active recall before class ends, which can support longer-term retention instead of short-lived memorisation.
  • Personalised assessments and feedback help tailor support to each child’s weak areas, rather than assuming every student needs the same revision.
  • In-house notes and hand-picked questions may be useful for children who need carefully filtered practice at the right difficulty level.

  • 24/7 WhatsApp support can help children clear small doubts early before they grow into bigger learning gaps.

How to Choose the Best Secondary Chemistry Tuition for Your Child?

The best secondary Chemistry tuition is not always the most famous or the most intensive option. More often, it is the one that fits your child’s current struggles, learning habits and weekly routine. As you compare secondary chemistry tuition centres, it helps to look beyond branding and think carefully about what will actually support your child consistently.

  • Choose a teaching approach that matches your child’s real problem, whether that is weak concepts, poor answering technique, low confidence or inconsistent revision habits.
  • Look at tutor experience carefully, especially whether the teacher is familiar with upper secondary Chemistry, O Level expectations and common student mistakes in structured questions.
  • Think about class size and format, because some children improve faster in one-to-one home tuition while others stay motivated in a focused group class.
  • Consider location and timetable realistically, since a child who is already tired from school and CCA may not benefit from a long weekly commute to tuition.
  • Read reviews with balance, looking for patterns about clarity, support and student progress rather than assuming every well-reviewed Chemistry tuition centre will suit every child.
  • Set a budget that is sustainable over time, because Chemistry improvement usually takes consistency, not just a short burst of lessons before exams.

If possible, involve your child in the decision too. The right fit often becomes obvious when your child feels less lost, asks more questions and starts approaching Chemistry with a bit more calm. That is usually a much better sign than any sales pitch.
