Tap dance gives children an energetic way to develop rhythm, coordination, musicality and expressive movement. Singapore parents can choose from playful introductory classes and combination programmes to structured graded pathways, examinations and stage performances. The right class depends on your child’s age, experience, confidence and interest in recreational or progressive dance training.
It also helps to consider class size, teacher experience, studio safety, timetables, trial options and costs such as tap shoes, examinations or costumes. This guide covers 10 tap dance centres in Singapore, with overviews, Google reviews, locations, prices and contact details.

The dancers were stunning on stage, and I was truly impressed by their beautiful performances at the concert. The school must take great pride in coaching its students and witnessing their growth. It offers a friendly and welcoming environment, suitable for beginners pursuing dance as a hobby as well as for those aiming to compete. With a variety of classes tailored to students’ needs, the school caters to a wide range of interests and goals.
While the teachers train the kids on the techniques, they are also caring and pay attention to safety. My girl learns about working hard, discipline, commitment, teamwork and resilience in the process. The teachers' and the principal's passion in dancing and grooming the young ones is evident, this is something that I as a parent value a lot.
Hi Ms Lang Ley, this may be a bit delayed but wanted to say a big congratulations 🎉 on the success of Palette in Motion 😊 it was a very enjoyable concert and I can see the amount of planning and hard work put in by you and your teachers. Kudos to you all! Also thank you for giving SL the opportunity to be part of this. It’s a big milestone for her and her last concert was very kiddy like and I can see how she has matured into a diligent dancer. She may not be your best dancer and I do not push her too much to the point she no longer finds joy in dancing. I can tell she enjoys dancing with Elevate and appreciate the guidance and patience you and your teachers have given her. Thank you Ms Lang Ley and have a wonderful year end holiday break ahead!
I have been with Elevate since its inception, and have been under the guidance of our principal, Ms Langley, for over a decade, training in Modern Jazz and Modern Theatre. Ms Langley is a dedicated, approachable and experienced dance teacher who nurtures her students to not only do well in dance, but also in life. As a teacher who values versatility, she provides many avenues for her students to explore different dance genres, offering classes in various styles, and organising local and overseas excursions and workshops to learn from a myriad of choreographers and dancers. Under her tutelage, I was given many opportunities, including learning from talented choreographers in South Korea, as well as experiencing my first solo competitions in Singapore and Malaysia. Elevate offers a unique and thorough programme to groom students into versatile and technical dancers, as well as confident and experienced performers. Would highly recommend!
I have been with Ms Langley for over 10 years and I’ve learnt a lot from her. She is not only a very caring and patient teacher, but also a teacher who disciplines and instills moral values in us. Elevate Dance Acadamie is also a conducive environment for dance and is well-equipped too. Furthermore, there are many opportunities to grow and learn from such as the overseas immersion programmes and competitions. Every lesson is enjoyable and fulfilling and I am very glad to be in Elevate Dance Acadamie with Ms Langley.

My child Zoey enjoys her class with Teacher Maggie! She loves her weekly lessons at All that Jazz academy. Most importantly I can see the improvement in the way she expresses herself and her self confidence when performing.
I must say, this is the best dance academy in Singapore. My daughter is taking Junior Ballet, Jazz, and Tap combo class under Ms. Fang Yu. She is very dedicated and my daughter is progressing really well. As they are providing the combo class in junior level, my child is able to try out the three dance styles and see which one she has more interest and concentrate more on that style in future. Apart from this, I highly appreciate their service, they are highly responsive.
A nice dance school, my daughter looks forward to her lessons weekly. Very helpful teachers as well as over the counter personnel to attend to enquiries.
I’m updated monthly with videos on my child’s progress. A safe and nice environment.
We just wanted to share how much our daughter has enjoyed her time at All That Jazz. It’s been a wonderful experience, and we’re so grateful to the entire staff for all the support and kindness over the past year. The teachers have been amazing—so patient and encouraging—and their guidance has truly helped our daughter grow and gain confidence in her dancing.
A special thank-you for offering Acro dance classes for younger children. Our daughter, now 6, discovered her love for Acro when she was 5, back in the U.S. After moving here, it was a real challenge to find a studio that welcomed kids her age into Acro, so we were thrilled to find All That Jazz. You’ve created a space where young dancers can feel inspired and supported, and we’re so appreciative of that.

I'm so grateful for all the help and support Teacher Tanya provided. Spending my time with her definitely elevated not only my piano skills but also my level of confidence. Thank you so much!
We are so grateful to have found Viva School of Music and Ballet through a fellow parent’s recommendation. The experience has been truly wonderful, and I feel so blessed that my daughter is learning here.
In just a few piano lessons, I’ve seen remarkable growth in her knowledge and technique—progress that we hadn’t seen even after years of lessons elsewhere. The teachers are not only highly qualified, but also incredibly passionate about what they do.
Both Teacher Tanya and Teacher Natalya are professional, patient, and wholeheartedly dedicated to their students. They pay attention to every detail and give their very best to nurture each child. As a parent, that kind of care and commitment means the world to me.
If you’re looking for a place where your child can truly grow and shine in their musical journey, I cannot recommend Viva enough. It’s been such a blessing to us!
We are beyond grateful for the incredible journey our son Lucas Lee has had with Teacher Natalya at Viva School. From the very beginning, Natalya has not only nurtured our son’s love for piano, but has inspired an extraordinary level of discipline, artistry, and passion for music. Thanks to the very supportive Team at Viva School and personaly Teacher Natalya’s outstanding teaching and mentorship, our son Lucas Lee has grown tremendously as a musician, achieving numerous international awards along the way. The most recent recognition at the prestigious Steinway Piano Competition is a true testament to the world-class training and encouragement our son has received. As parents, we could not have asked for a more dedicated, knowledgeable, and inspiring teacher. Teacher Natalya brings out the best in students, both musically and personally, and creates an environment where excellence feels natural and joyful. We wholeheartedly recommend Teacher Natalya and Viva School to any family looking for a piano teacher who not only imparts technical mastery but also fosters a genuine love for music that lasts a lifetime.
I have been with Viva School for close to a decade, since I started my journey with music! The teachers there are highly qualified, having an impeccable western education at music conservatories. This has helped me in competitions and assessments, as the teachers are able to highlight and develop artistic details. Teacher Tanya was my first piano and theory teacher, and she helped me learn and grow in a nurturing environment whilst helping me develop a strong artistic flair. Currently, I am training under highly acclaimed piano teacher teacher Natalia. Teacher Natalia’s strong attention to detail and dedication to her work has had a strong and lasting impact on me. As i progressed up the music ladder further to take O Level Music as an academic subject, Dr. Peter’s skilled expertise and knowledge opened my eyes to more music details I had never realised. I had gone from barely passing to coming in first in my class for an assessment! Not to mention, Teacher Tanya who had also majored in music composing came in handy when she had helped me further develop my compositions. I view Viva as family, with teachers who are nurturing and strong-willed to develop their students. Most of the teachers have been there forever, with low overturn rate - which shows how friendly the environment is there. Viva is the one stop solution for a balanced music education. 10/10.
So happy to have found Viva ballet. Under the tutelage of Teacher Olga, I've successfully completed my RAD Grade 3 & 4 exams to date as an adult dancer new to ballet. I am grateful for the dedication of Teacher Olga in making sure that we not only memorise a dance, but that it is executed anatomically correct and beautiful. As a bonus, since I have started ballet, my posture has also improved. I love my lessons and always feel happy attending my classes.

my daughter had a great time at Centre Stage (East) for her birthday party led by MJ, who was engaging, high-energy and really thoughtful. all the children had so much fun and we are very happy with how everything was ran.
The classes are engaging, lively, and full of fun group activities that really help my kids open up. The school gives them great exposure to drama, and over the years I’ve watched their self-confidence grow so much.
The teachers are not only experienced and professional, but also genuinely caring. They know how to bring out each child’s strengths and make every lesson enjoyable.
Most importantly, my kids look forward to every class they have. So much fun learning and expressing themselves.
My daughters attended Centre Stage most of their lives, beginning when they were babies and ending in their late teens. The only reason they are no longer there is because our family left Singapore. Otherwise, we wouldn't even think about leaving Centre Stage. My girls sorely miss it now and always talk about it as one of the best parts of their time in Singapore. Centre Stage's close community is one of the reasons why we kept coming back every year. In the transient world of expat life, good friends come and go - which can be devastating. Centre Stage -- led by Pete and Ali, and flanked by many competent teachers -- feels like that fun, supportive, and trustworthy friend who is always on your side. Yet, it's not just about the warm and fuzzy. The school seriously helps students hone their skills in singing, dancing, and acting. They also encourage them to take healthy risks, to put themselves out there and to develop their confidence. I saw my girls transform from unsure, awkward kids to poised, fit, and more self-assured young women. I can't thank the school enough for helping me raise my children. It takes a village, and Centre Stage has been an indelible part of what has made our Singapore village AMAZING.
My husband and I were introduced to Centre Stage, by a good friend of mine and one of your wonderful staff, Annisaa. She’s been working with y’all for a while now and she reached out asking if we’d like to watch a show. It was Private Peaceful. Not going to lie, at first we were skeptical with it being a one man show, but after attending it earlier on today, I must say that it was just wonderful. The actor, Will Howard, brought all the characters to life and did it splendidly. The school itself should be praised by giving a fantastic and creative environment for kids in Singapore. Kudos to the teachers working there, there’s so much genuine passion and we are certain that the kids will flourish in such a beautiful environment.

The Dance Place is truly impressive! Dance Instructors are international, experienced and world-class. Their dedication and professionalism outstanding. The school is a gem, with its students-centered approach. A special shout-out to its friendly and competent reception and admission staff (Melati!). If you are exploring DANCE in Singapore or looking to develop your potential, The DANCE PLACE is where you should be!
The best dance school in Singapore! Not only for the high level and variety of classes, but also for the wonderful and welcoming atmosphere. They organize family picnics with performances, as well as professional theatre shows with top-quality costumes. My daughter absolutely loves going there. Highly recommended!
I’ve been taking Fusion Contemporary classes with Sharul since February this year, and it’s been such an inspiring journey. Sharul is a truly creative and original choreographer. Each class brings something new, both technically and emotionally.
What I really appreciate is how he always takes time at the end of every session to ask us for feedback and reflect on our takeaways, which helps us grow not just as dancers but as people.
Even though I only joined a few months before the recital in May, Sharul encouraged and supported me the whole way through. That experience was so meaningful, and it wouldn’t have been the same without his energy and belief in me.
Now, beyond being an amazing teacher, he feels like a friend that I can share my honest thoughts with. I’m so grateful to have found this space and community. Highly recommend his classes to anyone looking to dance with heart, intention, and creativity.
I have been attending Adult Contemporary Dance class taught by Emma for over a year now. Emma is so passionate about dance, full of energy, very encouraging and funny at times which makes her class really enjoyable. I also love her choreography which she changes once a month. This keeps the class interesting cos you'll never be bored going to her class. You'll learn new dance steps at every class and new choreography every month. Place is also centrally located & dance studios are clean too! ❤️❤️

My child enjoys the classes here and is always so excited to attend classes. Ms Jessica is warm and always prompt to respond to our inquiries. His teacher, Ms Asya is encouraging, patient and very loving. I noticed my child’s coordination and confidence have improved ever since joining DATD. Highly recommended!
All three of my daughters have had such a wonderful experience at Dance at the Difference. The teachers are really special, and truly put the kids enjoyment and development at the centre of all that they do. My girls have all progressed with the same consistent teachers over the many years. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a positive and uplifting experience for their kids, one where children develop into confident and passionate dancers.
I am so glad we found Dance at the Difference! We had trial class at another dance school where my daughter started crying 15 minutes into the trial. Hence, she was rather nervous for her trial class at DATD. When we arrived, Ms Dinie asked if she would like to read some princess books while waiting for class to start, and my daughter brightened up immediately! I was very impressed by how the teachers here are really warm and knows exactly how to motivate children! Another example - my daughter had difficulties with executing the LA walk. Ms Asya did not stress her out over this, but sent a video for her to practice at home. I have never seen my daughter so determined to do something well! She practiced twice daily and happily told me that Ms Asya praised her progress at the next class. This experience became an important memory I tapped on whenever she faced other learning difficulties. I was also amazed by how they managed to get my daughter on stage to perform for the recital. I was ready for her to freeze up on stage but she executed all the moves!
Special thanks to Ms Asya, Ms Layla, Ms Dinie and Ms LJ for creating a joyful environment for my daughter to learn in. I would also like to compliment Ms Jessica, who is so prompt with responding to all questions and admin issues! I also appreciate how the instructions provided (e.g., for showcase, recitals etc.,) are always very clear and detailed. I highly recommend DATD to all parents!
I have two (very different!) children at DATD, and we’ve had wonderful experiences with both. We’ve had every teacher at the studio (over 5 years), and they are able to help kids visibly progress at their own speeds (the teachers are gentle and firm at the same time!), while maintaining a love of dance. One of the most essential parts for us is having no uniform or hair requirements - my kids can bring themselves to class and learn to love ballet and tap in a structured way that also allows them to be themselves! Having the opportunity to participate in a gorgeous formal recital at the end of the year is a huge bonus, and a super valuable experience for my kids.
I take my daughter here every Saturday and she loves it. I participate in the classes with her. We do the parent and toddler class. There is a good mix of boys and girls. She was a little timid at first (only 1.5 YO now 2) but we stuck with it and now she has a ball and knows the names of the other kids and she knows (most of) the routine. Laura-Jane is amazing with kids, friendly patient and extremely knowledgeable. All the fun activities are clearly designed to prep for dancing later on. There is a nice viewing room as well which I've sat in while Grandma took over 1 week. I've seen that they do birthday party packages like a dance party for the kids as well but I've not done that yet. Highly recommended!

My daughter joined Ms Charlotte's class when she was approaching 4yo. It has only been a short 3 months but we really liked it here. I can tell that Ms Charlotte takes pride in her work, and she is fantastic with young toddlers! Toddlers are a little different from younger children, so they may need more engagement from teachers in the beginning and I can tell Ms Charlotte is experienced in that. Excited to continue watching my daughter's growth here. 😄
My daughter has been training in Ballet and Jazz here since 2021, and the school has been a wonderful part of her weekly routine. Ms. Charlotte sets the tone with her professionalism and genuine passion for teaching. Every class feels purposeful, well-prepared, and thoughtfully paced, which really shows in how the students progress over time.
She has a special ability to understand each child — when to encourage, when to guide, and when to challenge them a little more. My daughter has grown so much not only in technique, but in confidence and focus, and that comes from being in an environment where she feels both supported and inspired.
What I especially appreciate is how consistent the teaching is, how clearly expectations are communicated, and how the children are taught to take pride in their own improvement. It feels like a place where kids are safe, respected, and truly motivated to do their best.
We’re very grateful to have found this school and to have Ms. Charlotte shaping my daughter’s dance journey.
We are so grateful to Miss Charlotte for her dedication and passion in teaching my daughter, Mila. Not only does she guide the children with patience and love, but she also went above and beyond by giving Mila extra make-up classes to prepare for the performance.
The recital was such a beautiful and heartwarming event — every child truly shone on stage, and it’s clear how much hard work and care Miss Charlotte and her team put into nurturing each student. We deeply appreciate the sense of community she has built, and how she inspires both growth in dance and character.
Highly recommend this dance school for anyone looking for a place where children can learn, thrive, and feel supported!
My daughter started tap lessons with Ms Charlotte 4 years ago and never looked back. We also switched her ballet lessons from another school, and the difference is evident. The teachers in Charlotte Marn School of Dance are engaging and loving. Despite being a late starter in dance, Ms Charlotte has given my daughter opportunities and for someone who was dancing for fun, my girl now takes dance more seriously. More importantly, she enjoys it and this is something I am truly grateful for.
Ever since my daughter step into Ms Charlotte’s trial class 3 years ago, there is no turning back! Thank you Ms Charlotte for believing in her! The way you encourage creativity and self-expression has not only improved her dance skills but has also boosted her confidence. It's heartwarming to see her grow, not just as a dancer, but as a person who believes in herself.
We are so grateful to have you as her teacher and mentor. Watching her perform with joy and enthusiasm fills our hearts with pride. We look forward to seeing all the amazing things she will accomplish under your guidance in the future!

I moved my daughter to Dance Arts due to Ms Andrea, who is a Dance Arts teacher and was retained by another studio temporarily to teach RAD ballet. Andrea really knows how to extract the very best in each of the kids. Hearing that Dance Arts was a dance studio that offered classes in all disciplines of dance, we decided to move across and I'm so glad we did. My daughter thrives at Dance Arts, no doubt because of the high standard of teaching of all DA teachers.
My Daughter has been attending lessons with Dance Arts for more than 5 years - several times a week. The school has an exceptional standard of teaching and commitment towards the children, shown by all the staff we have worked with. Furthermore they have been amazing mentors and role-models in guiding the children through life-lessons such as collaboration, determination, kindness to others and self-confidence. Her time as Dance Arts has had a profound positive impact on shaping the young lady she is turning into.
The adult Tap classes are also excellent! I really loved them. Highly recommend!!
We followed Ms Andrea who was also teaching at another dance studio. We absolutely love Dance Arts and do not regret moving at all. My daughter has thrived in her ballet and I would highly recommend this dance studio. They have a wide variety of different classes to try out and the staff are super friendly and accommodating
My daughters have been learning ballet at Dance Arts since they were 4. They always look forward to the classes and really love their teacher Ms Natalie. It's sad that she has left but the other teachers like Ms Andrea and Ms Shanti are excellent as well. Dance Arts is more than just another dance school. Its a warm and friendly place, and the teachers and staff really genuinely care for the students. Highly recommend Dance Arts!
My daughters have been coming here for dance classes for 4 years and they absolutely love it. Ms Shanti, Ms Andrea, and Ms Natalie have been brilliant and what is great about the school is that the teachers have been here for a long time and qualified. They make it fun for the young ones and teach technique for the older ones. Great location as well for the parents as they wait for class to finish.

I did my first jazz syllabus exam with Tilt at the age of 24 and I’m so glad that it was with them because the teachers’ efforts and dedication to helping me to grow has helped me to improve since the start. My teachers push me and always give me great corrections. I am very thankful that I was trained here, and will continue to!
Dear Miss Sarah and the Tilt Performing Academy Team,
I just wanted to say a sincere thank you for giving Sophia the wonderful opportunity to compete in her very first dance competition yesterday. It was such a special experience for her, and for us too, watching her take that stage with confidence and joy. It was such a proud and emotional moment for us as a family and one we’ll always remember.
When she joined Tilt last year, we had no idea how much she would grow. Not just in her dancing but in her confidence, happiness and increasing sense of belonging. We’re so touched by the trust you've shown in her and by the warm, nurturing environment you’ve created at Tilt.
She’s truly found a place where she feels encouraged and inspired, and it shows! She’s dancing more than ever (everywhere!) and always looks forward to her classes.
Thank you again for everything you do. We feel very lucky to be part of the Tilt family.
Warmest wishes, Ahmad and Mar

How to Choose the Best Tap Dance Class for Your Child
Teacher experience: Check tap training, teaching qualifications and experience with your child’s age group before committing to regular lessons.
Age suitability: Choose a class whose pace and expectations match your child’s development, attention span and current experience.
Programme structure: Ask whether lessons follow recreational themes, a progressive syllabus, graded examinations or a combination of these approaches.
Beginner support: Look for careful introductions to posture, weight transfer, basic sounds and rhythm before faster combinations are introduced.
Class attention: Consider whether class size allows teachers to observe foot placement, timing and technique while giving individual corrections.
Floor safety: Confirm that the studio floor suits tap shoes and repeated rhythmic movements without becoming excessively slippery.
Sound management: Make sure children can hear their footwork and the teacher’s demonstrations clearly during group exercises.
Teaching ethos: Look for instruction that balances discipline and precision with encouragement, creativity and enjoyment at your child’s level.
Musical development: Check that teaching connects steps with beats, tempo, phrasing and musical patterns rather than isolated foot movements.
Progress milestones: Ask how teachers assess improvement, recommend level changes and communicate progress or technique concerns to parents.
Performance options: Consider examinations, recitals or showcases if your child enjoys goals and stage experience, without making participation essential.
Child confidence: A trial lesson can show whether your child feels comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying unfamiliar combinations.
Schedule fit: Compare lesson times, term dates, travel requirements and attendance expectations with school commitments and family routines.
Trial conditions: Check the trial price, duration, cancellation terms and whether teachers use it to recommend an appropriate placement.
Total costs: Request details about term fees, registration, deposits, tap shoes, costumes, examinations, competitions and recital participation before enrolling.
Long-term goals: Match the pathway to your child’s interest in casual movement, multidisciplinary dance, formal progression or performance training.
