My daughter got to know of Emerge through a classmate who's been a student of their for years. We just joined this year and I can see my daughter's love for the Performing arts blossoming steadily through the guidance of her coaches at Emerge. She also had her debut as a main cast role despite being a relatively new student, and did very well for her character. I'm glad she is in good hands and great company of other kids who share the same passion as her.

I must say, this is the best dance academy in Singapore. My daughter is taking Junior Ballet, Jazz, and Tap combo class under Ms. Fang Yu. She is very dedicated and my daughter is progressing really well. As they are providing the combo class in junior level, my child is able to try out the three dance styles and see which one she has more interest and concentrate more on that style in future. Apart from this, I highly appreciate their service, they are highly responsive.

We just wanted to share how much our daughter has enjoyed her time at All That Jazz. It’s been a wonderful experience, and we’re so grateful to the entire staff for all the support and kindness over the past year. The teachers have been amazing—so patient and encouraging—and their guidance has truly helped our daughter grow and gain confidence in her dancing.

A special thank-you for offering Acro dance classes for younger children. Our daughter, now 6, discovered her love for Acro when she was 5, back in the U.S. After moving here, it was a real challenge to find a studio that welcomed kids her age into Acro, so we were thrilled to find All That Jazz. You’ve created a space where young dancers can feel inspired and supported, and we’re so appreciative of that.

I’ve been taking Fusion Contemporary classes with Sharul since February this year, and it’s been such an inspiring journey. Sharul is a truly creative and original choreographer. Each class brings something new, both technically and emotionally.

What I really appreciate is how he always takes time at the end of every session to ask us for feedback and reflect on our takeaways, which helps us grow not just as dancers but as people.

Even though I only joined a few months before the recital in May, Sharul encouraged and supported me the whole way through. That experience was so meaningful, and it wouldn’t have been the same without his energy and belief in me.

Now, beyond being an amazing teacher, he feels like a friend that I can share my honest thoughts with. I’m so grateful to have found this space and community. Highly recommend his classes to anyone looking to dance with heart, intention, and creativity.

My daughter started learning ballet at Barreworks about two years ago. She had wanted to learn ballet out of her own interest, but didn't take well to the first ballet school she went to. I asked around several mum friends on which ballet school their daughters attended - turned out quite a few of them send their kids to Barreworks. With that reassurance I brought my girl to Barreworks at their Old Holland Rd studio, and from the very first lesson she felt right at home. She has never refused to go for class since starting at Barreworks, something very important to us as parents because you'd never want your kid to feel forced into going for class. In fact, sometimes when we travel or have events that clash with her classes, she'd be super hesitant to skip class!

I'd say the teachers here do a really great job at building rapport with the kids while maintaining that strict professionalism that keeps the kids on their toes (literally and figuratively). Special thanks and shout-out to Ms Luann, who has played such a huge role in inspiring and motivating my child.

The studios are always tastefully chosen. Bright, airy, with lots of natural light.

My daughter has been at Barreworks for the last 3 years. In that time, we’ve watched her grow not just in technique, but in confidence, discipline and love for dance.

The teachers have played such a huge role in nurturing her passion and constantly encouraging her to improve her dance quality and artistry. Beyond ballet, she’s also had the opportunity to be exposed to different styles like jazz and contemporary, which has helped her grow into a more versatile and expressive dancer.

What stands out most is the dedication and genuine passion the teachers pour into every class. You can truly see how much they care about helping each child grow and reach their potential. We’re so grateful to be part of such a nurturing school.

I am so glad we found Dance at the Difference! We had trial class at another dance school where my daughter started crying 15 minutes into the trial. Hence, she was rather nervous for her trial class at DATD. When we arrived, Ms Dinie asked if she would like to read some princess books while waiting for class to start, and my daughter brightened up immediately! I was very impressed by how the teachers here are really warm and knows exactly how to motivate children! Another example - my daughter had difficulties with executing the LA walk. Ms Asya did not stress her out over this, but sent a video for her to practice at home. I have never seen my daughter so determined to do something well! She practiced twice daily and happily told me that Ms Asya praised her progress at the next class. This experience became an important memory I tapped on whenever she faced other learning difficulties. I was also amazed by how they managed to get my daughter on stage to perform for the recital. I was ready for her to freeze up on stage but she executed all the moves!

Special thanks to Ms Asya, Ms Layla, Ms Dinie and Ms LJ for creating a joyful environment for my daughter to learn in. I would also like to compliment Ms Jessica, who is so prompt with responding to all questions and admin issues! I also appreciate how the instructions provided (e.g., for showcase, recitals etc.,) are always very clear and detailed. I highly recommend DATD to all parents!
I have two (very different!) children at DATD, and we’ve had wonderful experiences with both. We’ve had every teacher at the studio (over 5 years), and they are able to help kids visibly progress at their own speeds (the teachers are gentle and firm at the same time!), while maintaining a love of dance. One of the most essential parts for us is having no uniform or hair requirements - my kids can bring themselves to class and learn to love ballet and tap in a structured way that also allows them to be themselves! Having the opportunity to participate in a gorgeous formal recital at the end of the year is a huge bonus, and a super valuable experience for my kids.

I take my daughter here every Saturday and she loves it. I participate in the classes with her. We do the parent and toddler class. There is a good mix of boys and girls. She was a little timid at first (only 1.5 YO now 2) but we stuck with it and now she has a ball and knows the names of the other kids and she knows (most of) the routine. Laura-Jane is amazing with kids, friendly patient and extremely knowledgeable. All the fun activities are clearly designed to prep for dancing later on. There is a nice viewing room as well which I've sat in while Grandma took over 1 week. I've seen that they do birthday party packages like a dance party for the kids as well but I've not done that yet. Highly recommended!

Classes are held at Goldhill Centre, within walking distance of Novena MRT.

Trial classes cost $40 to $48, depending on duration and programme. Dance camps cost $250 to $300, while birthday programmes range from $300 to $425.

How to Choose the Best Lyrical Dance Class for Your Child

  • Teacher experience: Check that instructors have suitable training and experience teaching lyrical technique to children in your child’s age group.
  • Technical foundation: Look for classes that build ballet, jazz or contemporary fundamentals alongside musical interpretation and expressive movement.
  • Entry level: Confirm whether the class welcomes beginners or expects previous ballet, jazz, contemporary or performance experience.
  • Age suitability: Choose choreography, teaching pace and emotional themes that suit your child’s developmental stage.
  • Teaching approach: Consider whether structured correction, creative exploration or performance preparation best fits your child’s personality and learning preferences.
  • Class attention: Ask about class capacity and how instructors give individual corrections within a supportive group setting.
  • Physical safety: Check that warm-ups, stretching, alignment and movement progressions receive proper supervision from experienced dance teachers.

It has truly been a blessing to find Mr. Tan Tiam Teng as my son’s Chinese tutor. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated—qualities that have made a huge difference in my son’s learning journey. My Primary 4 son has shown remarkable improvement in his Chinese since starting lessons, and we are so grateful for the progress.

Beyond the academic results, Mr. Tan’s teaching style has built my son’s confidence and interest in the subject. He is punctual, pleasant disposition and understands what a child needs. The entire experience with Mind Flex has also been very pleasant, professional, and supportive.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a tutor who genuinely cares and delivers excellent results

Friendly, pleasant, swift, helpful and most importantly not pushy
